Hi Amy. I’ve been a loyal customer of Aloha Collection from the days that the girls were making these in their kitchen and did a kickstarter to get this going. The pouches are the best imo. I use them for everything and I mean everything. I keep my journals and pens in one , iPad in one, makeup, cables etc in others. The tote bag you have, the top zipper part extends up to make it taller and they are machine washable. They last forever and I am constantly using these in the rain and snow. They make the best gifts. I’m sad that you don’t love them like I do, but give them a chance. They are so worth the price and imo don’t compare with anything at discount retailers. They make the best soiled clothes pouches for children, ( mine even threw up in one and it washed perfectly), keeps our food dry when we hike, keeps my luggage organized and keeps my delicate clothing safe from snags. The list is really endless. The mini size is purse perfect for medical supplies. For me and my friends they are freakishly addicting lol. I’ll admit it took me awhile to use my first pouch but once I did I didn’t go back to other bags. They get so soft with constant use. We sell them at our salon and we can’t keep them in stock. Btw I am in the Midwest and these are a must on the boats. Try them again and hopefully you’ll love them to. :)
I do like them more, the more that I use them. I still stand by what I said that they are pricey for what they are but that said, they are growing on me. I might do an updated review. I probably wouldn't buy another bag unless there was a good sale, but I do like the tote bag for the beach!
@@Amyfillinger agreed. That material is not expensive material regardless of the design and they ARE made in China. And this is from a Native Hawaiian in Hawai'i. I wouldn't buy them unless they are on sale which sometimes you can find them 40% off.
@@blueeyedgojo689 I am with you. I'll wait for a sale. They seem to have very loyal followers from the comments, and that is. great, but it is a cheap material. I'm sure they make a good profit, so good for them!

They are pretty pricey but I just ordered from the items they have on sale! I got a day tripper bag ($43.20) and small pouch ($20.40). Excited for them to arrive!

These bags are way better than those at Ross or Marshall, I checked. The ones in store feel cheaper and more plastic. These bags are made of tyvek, a very durable material that is water resistant, resistant to bacterial penetration and abrasion resistant. Im familiar with tyvek because that's the same material I use for putting under my tent as a footprint when I go backpacking or camping. Additionally they are super lightweight. I would buy them all if I could afford it. Give them another shot! I've had my aloha bags for several years and they've yet to break down on me. I love them!
As I've mentioned in almost every comment, it has grown on me. I LIKE the bags, but stand by what I said about the cost. I have another similar bag that I got years ago that I prefer, but I don't remember where I got it!! I do use the two Aloha bags now and would buy another if there was a good sale!

I do agree that the aloha bags are a bit pricey, but it’s very clear that you’re not an outdoorsy, water person. There is absolutely something very special to the material and to the aesthetic and functionality of it being water resistant and they are just so damn cute. I have multiple aloha bags, not for carry on, but for beach, which is what they’re meant for. I use all my aloha for beach, water life and then the hip packs for everything, everywhere. Love aloha
It's "very clear" that I'm not an outdoorsy water person? Um.. how? Actually, I am. This was marketed (to me, anyway) as a travel bag and I was speaking about that since this is a TRAVEL channel. As a travel bag, it isn't great. I actually posted recently on Instagram about how I love the bag for the beach, although I stand by what I said about it being pricey.
oops. Sent too soon. The bags are definitely growing on me but like you said, it's a great beach/pool bag. I've been using it for that all the time. I don't think they should market it as a travel bag.
I agree with you Alicia! The material is durable and waterproof. The quality is amazing.
@@MsBrendau Maybe I am just coming from a different perspective because I cloth diapered my kids so I've used lots of waterproof bags. As I've mentioned in several comments, the bags have grown on me. I won't purchase more unless there is a sale. They are lucky to have such loyal fans!!

You're welcome! After using them I DO really like them, but I would wait for a sale. :) I might buy another one or two if there is a big sale. They are great bags, but expensive.
I use it for travel, i put my travel pillows and my travel blanket in it, it's actually for the outdoors. BAGS ARE NICE!!!
I never said it wasn’t good for travel, I said the size doesn’t maximize your free luggage space. I do use mine for travel sometimes but not as a carry on.
Thanks for confirming what I thought about these bags. They are cute but look overpriced for what you get. And no internal organization.
I’d buy another one if they had a good sale (like 50% off) but yes I stand by saying they are overpriced for what they are. Great bags!! But a little pricey.
I've had my aloha collection for years and have definitely not babied them. No tears, stains or fading of the print! Also, you say the large day tripper isn't designed for easy carrying and there's no crossbody but I can't imagine that having such a big bag as a cross body would be comfortable anyway. But to each their own I guess! Despite the fact that they're made in china, it is still a hawaii brand which means buying it is supporting local :)
I did an update video, they grew on me. :) I think the price is super high for what it is, but they have good sales!

You're welcome! I ddi an update too. Long story short: I love them if you can get them during a good sale but the Day Tripper is NOT a good carry-on travel bag :)

Hi! Did you post an update review? So I have to admit, I received one of these as a gift & because the person who gifted it to me is like super into trends and luxury... I was like- well i guess this must be a "thing" ... just out of random curiosity I went to see how much it cost. *i am horrible!* I was shocked at the price... I wasn't thrilled with it's appearance and I was like... well if you know you know... but i don't think ANYONE KNOWS! haha! So... i didn't use it. Until one day, I needed to organize a ridiculously expensive smooshy purse... the plastic zipper was great because it didn't rough up the interior of the purse... and while i initially hated the material it is made of- it GREW on me! Because these aloha bags are smooshy- it helped keep my smooshy purse feeling & looking "natural". My daughter ended up taking the aloha bag to camp.... and I was shocked to find myself unable to stop thinking about it! After weeks of searching for something similar i finally broke down today & bought 3- with 20% for signing up for emails. Your video cracked me up- because i felt the same way at first! So i'd love to hear what you think of them now.... especially the tote... because while i love the pouches now ... i just don't know if i could love the tote.

I don’t have a follow up video but I’m going to film one. I’m literally carrying an Aloha bag at the pool now. I do still think they’re expensive but they grew in me!! I’ll get more if there’s a big sale.

I'm guessing when they were handing out the aloha spirit ~ those superfan's didn't get in line for it! So funny to hear that it grew on you as well! Being the sort of person who will buy one of every color of products I like ~ i felt psychologically violated after seeing all the prints available and worse when I saw all the discontinued ones! Ah the joys of retail and marketing/branding psychology! Look forward to the update have a great rest of your week!
@@candacesherman3182 thanks for subbing!! I may film it this week and if not, next week. I kept getting ads on IG (I’m a travel agent and most of what I sell is Hawaii) so I had to try it!! I wrongly assumed they were made locally (I try to support local Hawaii businesses) but they weren’t so that wasn’t the reason for the prices. 😂 Still, they’re great bags once the shock of how cheap they seem wears off. 🤣
You should you use them, the first impression does feel weird and I would agree with you on the first impression. These bags are waterproof, they are so easy to clean, amazing with kids and they are amazing travel bags because they pack into nothing and take no space in the suitcase. It’s a perfect beach day bag. I too was not impressed when I took it out of the box BUT once you use them they are amazing. You should use them and then give them another review. This doesn’t feel like an fair review.
It was certainly a “first impressions” review which I mentioned in the video. I’m working on a follow up! I do stand by saying they are expensive but if you can catch a sale, it’s worth it! I also said it’s not a good carry on which I still stand by as it’s too small to be an effective carry on which is what the tote is sold as. I’ve commented this before but of course I don’t expect people to read the comments so I’m working on a follow up! I actually just ordered more during the sale!
