    Toby,
Such a good show from everyone at the track yesterday! I also thought yesterday's performance from all the teams was top notch, for all the reasons you mentioned plus it was the second race me and my two brothers watched together. Our first was at Kansas last week where 2 of us traveled from CO and TX to meet at Kansas City where brother #3 lives. We had a blast at Kansas and yesterday we hooked up to enjoy Talladega over technology, text video etc. We had a great afternoon together.
My driver is Logano, so I was especially heartbroken. He has been working that (Black Horse) Ford hard for months and making such good progress since the beginning of the 2024 season.
I shared your breakdown with the bros, I have been watching your commentary for several months now. I enjoy and respect your concise, factful approach. Good luck to you and your show.

Loved the race. Hated that Briscoe was in P4 and got caught up in the wreck with only a couple laps left. Very frustrating

The way McCleod closed on the 99 so suddenly make me think the 99 was heavy on the brakes which would definitely be a mistake. That could be on the spotter as well as the driver. It didn't look like he was going to have a problem sliding in and then the speed differential just increased a ton.
The Bowman incident on Blaney looked a lot like Saturday's wreck when the 9 pushed the 88 and the 88 spotter said the 9 drove right through them. Burton and Letarte chimed in saying it didn't look that way at all. I feel the same way about Bowman. In fact, after getting pushed by the 5, Bowman clearly slowed along with Larson, but it was probably not possible to prevent the bump without stacking up the line and causing a wreck that way. I also think there was nothing Brad could do to once he got shoved by the 22. Brad tried to align the cars, but it wasn't enough. The pushing is necessary, but it's also risky. For the Bowman incident, it's a no-win situation. You can't push through the tri-oval, but you have to push through the tri-oval.
Getting more clarification, and maybe more consideration, with regard to the DVP in these recent situations would be good. Maybe they can change the rule further in the off season. A shame Berry had to be the big loser with that. I shared Logano's view about wishing the tires had the inner liner. When they started with the current car, while I liked the single lug, I had concerns with the bigger wheel and brakes and didn't like that the tires no longer had the inner liner. If that's not something they can bring back, then they need to be more forgiving about getting the cars back to the pits.

Great recap. This race was intense. The DVP issue and ruling was odd. I hope they review the rule in the off season. As an Elliott fan I was fine with the outcome, but I understand everyone else frustration.

That was a great race, but what was even better was Elton Sawyer coming out and addressing the media about the DVP controversy. He is a brave man who is unafraid to address the critics and naysayers in order to represent NASCAR on the national stage. Thank you Elton Sawyer.

Sawyer was a driver himself, he competed in the NASCAR Xfinity series in the 1990s

It was a great superspeedway race today,at least no train racing just 2,3 even 4 wide all day, they need to modify this damage vehicle policy next year smh.

Great race today but that DVP shit needs to be overhauled or completely abolished altogether! I get why it exists from a safety standpoint but other than that, that rule is BS and everyone knows it!
That Massive One was a Turn 3 junkyard but luckily it wasn’t too chaotic with the crashes like we normally see at Plate Tracks in general. Great analysis and recap Taylor!

Tayor--go watch the 2002 aarons 312 at talledega. Its on you tube. The craziest big one blocked the track. 3 (or something like that)cars got away not in the wreck. Biggest big one in busch/Xfinty racing history. Way worse than Sundays ( October 2024) race.

I remember that one. So crazy to see the race finish with three cars on the lead lap at Talladega.

The 9 can do no wrong. It's in the NASCAR rule book. NASCAR will enforce the rules until the 9 is involved. Another golden boy moment.
