I bought a xr15 pro G5 and the pre sets it comes with are actually good. I rented a par meter and tested them out and each schedule was perfect for what they are supposed to be growing. The only thing that has to be changed is the schedule times... I modified one for my tank needs with a 12 hours schedule..1.5 -8- 1.5 with a 1 hour moon phase and my coral growth has been amazing since... Set it and for get it is the most important
Question: I have a lighting fixture that simulates sunrise, sunset, and night time. This is great, but often I will stay up in my room later than the tank's "sunset" which is 7pm. Will my room light being on until 11pm, sometimes midnight negatively affect my fish and corals? If I go to sleep at midnight, and the light fixture turns back on at 6am, they are only getting 6 hours of complete darkness. Want to know if this is bad or not.
Great video. I set my aquatic life edge strip to a preselected region Great barrier reef. Its been running it for years.I want o change it? Will it harm my corals? What does it mean when LPs browns out or loses color? Some of m y lps is around 50 par! Since there preselected sucks I guess its best to make a program. Just not sure what to set at?

For a mixed reef (or really any tank with corals) using the 1-8-1 schedule that Thomas talks about in this video is a great way to go.
