I recently purchased a Motorola two way mobile radio - DM 460 - for my vehicle. It came with an antenna .... but I am not too keen using that because I wanted something discreet. I know there are also other models that use a magnet as a base as to avoid making a whole on the roof. I also like those boating antennas as you can bend them down when you using. Any suggestions ? Thank you.
That depend, Motorola is commercial radio for public safety or security agencies - Anytone is more for amateur radio so in reality this goes what features You need and exact use case to make decision. For sure spending 10x times more on Motorola than Anytone will not give You 10 times range.
@@ElectronicNoobBlog Sure. Thing is there is price parity, between dm4601 and anytone. Actually motorola is even cheaper. What i am looking for is simple dmr radio.
@@lezion Motorola is channelized so it's definitely simpler for non trained users, after programming once via computer You can forget, and there is 0 risk someone will mess it up using front panel, You can't change frequency or color code from menu and make it non usable as intended- so in that term it's simpler.
@@lezion If economy allow I would go with enhanced version (e) - You buy it for another 10 years - I don't think DMR standard will change lot and Motorola already proven they can do magic with firmware update so definitely stick with top tier version.

Do Bluetooth enabled motorla dmr radios support external BT keyboards? To type messages...
As fare I know You can't. You can compose messages via Android BT application (and use BT keyboard with phone)
