      Dorsey has a great eye for talent, but that is it. He has no understanding of how to build team cohesion, culture or (apparently) an offensive line. “Picking the wrong head coach” is a bit of an understatement to describe arguably the worst hire in modern nfl history and being incapable of controlling his team

      I like Dorsey as far as dealing for good talent & draft prospects. His two downfalls were hiring a guy who wasn't qualified for HC, and not giving a head coach full control. We need to get a PROVEN HC & just turn him loose. The GM shouldn't have any say in what the coach does. A coach that is "held back" is a coach with a big handicap.

      John Elway's Drive (1987)
      Earnest Byner's Fumble (1988)
      Losing to the Broncos in the AFC championship for a third time in a row (1989)

      Trickster guys there has arguably never been so much scrutiny by the media and NFL fans than this season. They haven’t been touted as SB contender since they became a team again but this year you had numerous pundits having them go all the way. Yet from their supposed savior QB to their super star WR they failed and disappointed in every shape and form. The super star WR you just traded for telling teams to come get me, your star DE hit a rival team’s player with a helmet. So many lows after a season which started more optimistic than ever. This is the lowest point in their history.

    • @tricksterguys446
      @tricksterguys446 4 роки тому +3

      @@JNN- First of all, their was no person who actually watched Football who thought that the Browns were going all the way. Even Colin Cowherd said that there was "no way the browns get over .500."
      Also their team outlook right now looks amazingly good. They have a great #1 receiver in Jarvis Landry, a star RB in Nick Chubb, a clear pass rusher in Myles Garrett, and great secondary lead by Denzel Ward. With a quality coach who knows how to run an offense without changing it at the last second.
      You clearly don't know anything about football and/or Browns history and only know what people told you within the last couple months. The fact that you know nothing of the 1995 Browns where they also had superbowl aspirations coming off an 11-5 season only for them to move to Baltimore all of a sudden. Just @Cole Adams, you have no clear understanding of anything Browns related and will continue to be incorrect with any hot takes you make.

    • @JNN-
      @JNN- 4 роки тому +1

      Dude first of all chill. I do know football you’re not the judge of that. Second I said they haven’t been a contender since they became a team again, learn how to read. Multiple sports writer including Max Kellerman saw super bowl contention for them this year. So many were at least positive they would make the playoff since the Steelers would be without Bell and AB so who knew what would happen with them, no one saw the Ravens being this good or Lamar becoming the MVP in his second year, and well the bengals don’t even deserve to be mentioned. The browns were basically a shoe-in to make the playoffs, maybe even contend with the pretty superb display of talent across the board, as you mentioned. I’m pretty sure there was no one sayin Ryan freaking Tanehill would lead the Titans to a playoff spot while Baker would have regress to looking like an annoying and cocky Brandon Weeden. This is an incredible low point in Browns history, one of it not their lowest. You said not the fans, player, or whoever determines what lowest point means and neither does you, it’s an opinion not a fact. So I would suggest not wasting your time with ad-hominem or straw man attacks. This is in MY OPION and the same opinion held by a lot of fans, pundits, and sports you tubers because of the expectations put on this team. They’ve managed to pretty much fail to meet everyone’s expectations, fall in such disarray and disfunction that didn’t even seem possible for them. You trade for a guy who’s supposed to be a top 3 receiver in the league and a few games into the season him and his best bud, your other top receiver, are heard telling other teams to come get them like a bunch of middle schoolers scared after their mom drops them off for a sleep over. A coach who acts like a cringe dad trying to be cool and seems to not know anything about running an modern NFL offense or keeping his players accountable. Then your star DE almost severely injured a guy by swinging his helmet at him, and the coach is then seen wearing a t-shirt mocking the event. It might not be the lowest point in franchise history but hey the entire history of the Cleveland Browns is pretty much all one giant low point.

    as a ravens fan who was constantly getting battered before the season by other nfl fans who thought the browns were going to top the division and at least make it to the AFC championship, im glad they are quiet. i was the only ravens fan in my friend group who said that the ravens will go 9-7 and win the AFC north division and probably play in the wildcard. well according to my friends, they thought my prediction was deluded. well guess what the ravens team actually did WAY more than i had predicted. my team went 14-2, clinched the division, #1 seed, top 5 offense and defense, lamar exceeded his expectations (before the season i predicted lamar to have 25 TD passes, 2,900 yds, 9 ints, 10 rushing TDs, 1,000 rushing yds, 95.5 passer rating), we continued to use justin tucker when needed and rarely punted, and we beat a handful of the nfl's top teams. the fact my friend group saw this happen made them reconsider their opinion on the ravens season while some would find excuses on why they beat teams like the pats, seahawks, 49ers, texans, and the revenge matchup against the "hype train" browns. again, my initial prediction for this season wasn't to have my ravens make it to the superbowl but the way we've been playing, i at least expect an afc championship appearance where we will likely play against the chiefs and "post-season" version of the patriots. if we actually make the superbowl, i want to win it so my friends who make excuses can actually accept that the ravens are the top team in the nfl (not just regular season) of 2019-20.

    It seemed like sports media did nothing but shit on Baker all season and you think he deserves MORE hate? By that logic, you could rename The Herd to Colin Cowherd Hating On Baker For Three Hours.
    I will agree Baker was terrible this season but I think the negative attention got to him more than people think. And he felt he needed to keep talking cause everybody else was too. Not excusing his behavior but maybe if every sports media analyst just toned down the hate and stopped talking about him, he might focus on improving his game instead of trying to defend himself.

    • @Dalejr88rox
      @Dalejr88rox 4 роки тому +3

      Yeah Baker kinda got put into a no win situation this season. Freddie Kitchens stopped designing game plans around his strengths and the team's lacking offensive line, and basically left him out to dry. The Rams game was a perfect example of this where when Baker got rid of the ball under 2 seconds after the snap, he was nearly perfect. Anything over that, the Browns couldn't do anything. Freddie kept calling long developing plays that forced Baker to scramble around and force throws. That led to him having to try to fit balls into tight spaces constantly, which led to the metric fuckton of passes bouncing off his receiver's hands and turning into interceptions.
      If they had a coach who would've designed plays around his team's strengths and hid their deficiencies and one who would be able to control his players, they could've been great. I don't blame Dorsey too much for this. He picked the guy who unlocked the team's offensive potential last season and he turned out to not be ready. Firing him after this season is just asinine

      puddles puddles I love Baker but he deserves all the shit he gets this dude hasn’t proven shit but he makes fun of Daniel jones for no reason before the kid’s even taken an nfl snap 😂 and I get why baker thinks that way, because Daniel jones is a spoiled rich kid who went to duke and has manning support, while baker has been doubted since high school more than almost any other pro qb. I would expect baker to hate Daniel jones. But he doesn’t need to say it publicly, especially with a lot of pressure on his shoulders going into a big season. And then * flop *, they were terrible and Baker regressed. He still does a cross step on his dropbacks, his mobility is still predicable, ie he hasn’t gotten better. That being said the Cleveland media is a cesspool so I have no problem with him snapping at them, but as far as the narrative that Baker underperformed after talking shit, that’s a legit criticism and he has to be smarter.

      Bryan Jackson What makes no sense is a fan who refuses to accept why they lost their football team!
      I’ve accepted why Baltimore lost our Colts, it was because out local government chose to support other programs in the inner city, in lieu of building a new stadium that had luxury suites. Baltimore instead chose to build a new arena, convention center, science center, and aquarium, instead of building a new arena for the Colts, so we lost our team.
      Cleveland, with Mayor White did the EXACT same things in building Jacob’s Field, an arena for the Cavs, and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame instead of a new stadium for the Brown’s. I’ve already read the newspaper articles, Cleveland made the same mistakes Baltimore did! We took our football teams and owners for granted and thought that fan loyalty and the NFL hierarchy would prevent our two teams from leaving for more profitable pastures.
      We were BOTH wrong!
      Just be a man and admit that! Sure, Art may have lied to Cleveland, but Robert Irsay lied to Baltimore! They both moved their teams after promising NOT to!

    Solid analysis. As a long time Browns fan, I was disappointed this year but didn't have unrealistic expectations going into the season (predicted we'd go 9-7). Although I was upset, there's some bright spots that Browns fans can hang their hat too that isn't being addressed a lot = 1) Had a starting QB for an entire season, something that we haven't had since Tim Couch in '99, 2) 1,000+ yard rusher in Chubb and 3) we beat all of our divisional opponents, although we should've gone 5-1 instead of 3-3. Again, disappointed because of all the talent we have, but still positive. Guess the positive outlook is always in the Browns faithful, "there's always next year!"
