According to a PBS article, millions were not brought to the US-- only 388k landed (How Many Slaves Landed in the US online article). The ocean currents don't even work that way (Africans and Native Americans book by Jack Forbes). Even the slave trade database includes the intra-American slave trade.

My roots are Louisiana Creole from South Western Louisiana. I am a mix of African, Cuban, Spanish, Mexican, and Central, North, South Native-American ancestry. My father's roots are from Santiago and La Habana Cuba and my mother's roots are from South Western Louisiana. If you're a Black-American from the U.S. many of our ancestors were of Caribbean descent or West Indian descent. That's if your family was brought from African slave ships and dropped on the Caribbean Islands. What they don't tell us in those history books is that on that Island there were Indigenous Native-American tribes and other ethic groups already there on that Island when African slaves were brought there. This why so many Black-Americans have mixed-race blood with other ethnicities in it. this is a known fact because it's in our DNA.We are the descendants of that mix up which makes us not black but Indigenous people. Some African Americans whom I know have DNA test results that reveal they are 90% African and roughly 10% European, without any American Indian ancestry. Some African Americans would prefer to be anything other than African and when they're encouraged to have a DNA test conducted, they simply argue that the tests are "unreliable." Self-hatred causes some people to claim a identity that is not theirs.

There are videos online with identical twins having different DNA or different companies producing different results. There are also various articles online that mention this (Vox DNA tests and their many caveats, for example). My roots are Louisiana Creole from South Western Louisiana. I am a mix of African, Cuban, Spanish, Mexican, and Central, North, South Native-American ancestry. My father's roots are from Santiago and La Habana Cuba and my mother's roots are from South Western Louisiana. If you're a Black-American from the U.S. many of our ancestors were of Caribbean descent or West Indian descent. That's if your family was brought from African slave ships and dropped on the Caribbean Islands. What they don't tell us in those history books is that on that Island there were Indigenous Native-American tribes and other ethic groups already there on that Island when African slaves were brought there. This why so many Black-Americans have mixed-race blood with other ethnicities in it. this is a known fact because it's in our DNA.We are the descendants of that mix up which makes us not black but Indigenous people. I did my research too. This was a major part of history that was wiped out. This is why we need to continue to have these documentaries so that each generation will know the truth.

Some African Americans whom I know have DNA test results that reveal they are 90% African and roughly 10% European, without any American Indian ancestry. There are videos online with identical twins having different DNA or different companies producing different results. There are also various articles online that mention this (Vox DNA tests and their many caveats, for example). This is why people are encouraged to trace their own family history and talk to their elders.
