    Your videos inspired me to open my Bible and learn scripture. I've always been Christian but always failed to actually read the word. My goal is to read it cover to cover and annotate/scrapbook the entire Bible by December 12th, 2025. I just started Genesis and when I get off work today I'll get to read about Noah and the flood! I drew a picture of the Tree of Life and the flaming sword and was super excited to tape it into my Bible last night😄

    I hate to sound super spiritual. But you must need to have a very special anointing on your life to love the Bible like you do. I have never seen anyone love the Bible this much. It is so beautiful and heartwarming to watch. It uplifts me every time I see you with your word. Glory to God. Praise Jesus!❤❤❤❤❤

    I love seeing how we each study the word. Faith, you’re a scholar and every little note, flap, flip over and tip-in marks a moment: what you learned in class, and now (probably more important) the moment the Lord speaks to you. Precious. I can almost see Jesus smiling saying, “Yep, that’s my girl.”

    I would like to see you do a "fix my bible notes" video or series. I think that would be fun to watch, and to listen to your thoughts as you go.
    Before you mentioned doing that, I was just thinking about your Bible being interleaved and had an idea. Tipping in 2 or 3 more whole pages with glue might be better than adding all the flips and flaps. I read somewhere how there is blank Bible paper you can buy which wouldn't add as much bulk in the spine as printer paper or scrapbook paper would.
    Before you go to all the time and trouble "fixing" your Bible, you could start fresh with a new interleaved or journaling Bible and add in more pages, and possibly get it rebound first to help with the "alligator mouth" (I used to make journals and that's what we called it).

    • @CocoRio
      @CocoRio 8 місяців тому +1

      More thoughts...
      Have you considered moving into a spiral Bible? Some of them have journaling space all around the text and you "could" also add pages more easily by removing and replacing the spiral. I used to make spiral art journals from old books, junk mail and random junk journal ephemera, with all sizes of papers from old books, cards, and such. It turned out super cute, and it would give you that creativity thing ppl like us seem to crave. 😊

    What if you're new to reading the Bible? I find a lot of my notes are like "why did he do this? Why is this important?" or I hyper focus on genealogy or locations that aren't really relevant to the overall message. As a new reader, I'm struggling with what notes/thoughts are important enough to write down so my Bible isn't full of nonsense

    • @thejournalhouse
      @thejournalhouse 8 місяців тому

      In the beginning your notes and questions are important and you will find the answers as you read and study and pray for understanding remember the Bible operates as a whole give yourself time and grace also notes can also be YOU breaking down what your reading and what’s happening throughout the chapters or book gaining understanding, write down cross references, make sure you know the context of what your learning and historical background, also look at the purpose and audience to who the book was written ( what is God Doing?) (what are the people doing, Are the being obedient or disobedient why or not) ( what was the the social climate of the time how is it affecting the people) ECT ECT Don’t be afraid of getting things wrong … it doesn’t have to be a earth shattering notes to be valuable spend time with God as you mature in your faith you may find that your no longer in the same Bible consider using a 3x3 sticky note for any questions or thoughts this way you can toss them there also good for any distracting thoughts during Bible Study or reading job down the quit thought get it out of your mind. You can stick it in your Bible and then if it’s something you do want to come back to or do further study on you have it there and you won’t forget about it if you choose that, it’s no longer important. You can throw it away and proceed without having too much going on in your Bible that later on you may not want and there not permanently there ❤❤❤❤❤ as time goes on or however you are led by The Spirit you may even begin studying the different topics found throughout the Bible as you read through each chapter taking notes off of the topics being presented and either each chapter or each book as a whole is another way that a person can take notes on the Bible and what they’re reading remember, give yourself grace pray, and make sure that you are spending time with God❤❤❤❤

    Haven't finished the video yet, but don't wanna forget: yes please a video on fixing stuff in your bible!
    I'm literally waiting on my first interleaved bible because you've inspired me SO MUCH.
    I was gonna do a colourcode... Had it all worked out (one colour for Jesus/messianic prophesy+ fulfillment, one for passages that I can directly pray over myself, one for God's character and nature- so trinity, or goodness it whatever, warnings, practices/application for us, etc).. But I remembered something you said- don't just highlight for no reason. Better to underline or highlight stuff you are taking notes on. So instead of colourcoding scripture itself etc, your NOTES would have to be colourcoded for this to work... And if you did that-what kind of themes would you have? Like, word study, on context-history, maybe theme generally (like, a colour for a note that is talking about the theme of the individual passage), application for us today&forever.
    Did you ever try a colourcode? Any advise if you have???
    I don't have any room in my thinline for very many notes - I literally have only underlined or highlighted or watercolour background.

    Do you think interleaved is better or having a single column? I'm so in-between them.

    • @thejournalhouse
      @thejournalhouse 8 місяців тому +2

      The only difference between the single column in the interleave is the space and Font if you want to have a lot of space and can read smaller font go with the interleaved if you want to have moderate space with 9.5 font go with the single column, single column has 2 inch margins and lined to represent the margins space where as the interleaved isnt lined at all. It’s just a blank page so it’s very much a personal preference she needed more space, and therefore she went with interleave she addressed this many many years back that she thinks both of them are good Bibles, but for Bible College The inter relieved Bible was the better choice for her and for the amount of notes she wanted to take I own both but my true favorite right now is the Study Journaling Bible since you get everything in 1 place I’m currently migrating my notes from my Interleaved Bible to my Single Column Bible ❤

    My mind would be tripping over itself in 25 different directions at once - Listen to the sermon, turn to correct Bible text, fish around to find whatever desired writing implement ~ are kidlets still in their own class during main church service? I'd be wanting the purple pen, & not finding it and be all distracted - guess that is my guess as to me and not you... Then, how do you deal with flap selection, wash tape, scotch tape ~~~ I'm getting dizzy just contemplating this - No criticism, just confounded~

    Did you write the notes in your Bible "live" during the lecture? If you write too small now, will you be able to see them years later?

    Why do people pray so much for themselves?
    God, the Father, has already told us what to do and He is the same forever. Above all things, we are to “seek first the kingdom of God, and *_ALL these things_* shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33):
    For instance, God tells us through Jesus “he which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
    In times of trouble, “Blessed is he that considereth the poor. The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies” (Psalm 41:1-2).
    We are to keep his commandments and “length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee” (Proverbs 3:2).
    God tells us through John that “I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosper” (3 John 1:2).
    If we do God’s will and pray that the whole world sees His glory, He will do all things for us as well. What more can we ask for?

    Genuine question, although you've marked up that entire Bible, wrote a lot of bright colorful notes, and did all that stuff to make yourself look like you studied it, did it make you at ALL become a genuine better Christian following after Jesus Christ and denying yourself, taking up your cross and following him? (That's also in Luke 9:23 by the way, your summary of what you said about Luke was quite poor...)

      There always has to be one … she’s been using that Bible since she was in seminary, so I’m thinking 5+ more years of study if not more. So Faith didn’t do it to make herself “look like studied” she actually studied. Have you become a better Christian through whatever study you make yourself look like you’re doing?

    FEAR NOT 😅😅😅 I cheat. My Bible is digital and if I mess up, I can redo. If I write too large, I can rewrite smaller. 🫣🫣🫣
