I first heard this track played at "Shake" at a bar on Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood by DJ Doc Martin back in '93. It was one of those great signature beats that moved & affected the crowd deeply.

No matter how old we get these songs still makes us move when we hear them.... im 48 now and still start to smile and move right away when i hear this intro
A friend of mine played this on the courtesy piano at London St Pancras station before we took the train back to Antwerp. A bunch of kids on their way to Paris started jamming in on recorders and a clarinet. I was amazed they knew the tune.
@@guerreropacIt was in the countryside in a barn house. I had heard about raves before I left Seattle to go to Europe for the school year. A friend had invited me to go to one before I left Seattle to study in France, but I didn’t go. I got to France and soon after I met my French boyfriend in the Paris train station, he was a DJ. He lived in Le Touquet which is a French beach town on the English channel. He took me to this rave in Belgium. I think I was surprised by the fact that it was in the country side and not in the city. I associated electronic music with the city so I thought raves were an urban phenomenon. I was naïve. Because there we were in the middle of the countryside dancing to this marvelous music. I didn’t get a lot of studies done that year. I went to raves in Antwerp and in Paris. My regret is that we had tickets to the Mayday rave in Germany, but I got really sick and ended up in the hospital. Months of mdma, lsd and cocaine will do that. And a propensity to manic-depression didn’t help. I was so taken by raves that I would write these essays for my French literature professor, ardently comparing the music’s merits to those of classical music. He would give me a 12, which is the equivalent of a D. So I would go into his office and passionately explain how beautiful the music was, how profoundly it affected me and so he would change my grade to a 16 - probably on the basis of how passionate I was. He was sweet to do this as I’m sure my written French was terrible. 🇫🇷
@@ASailorB that's pretty amazing, I only got to go to raves in LA, usually abandoned warehouses but it was incredible. I'm glad you had those experiences abroad!
I remember being absolutely spangled at a NYE rave dancing on top of a huge speaker stack. Lazer beams across the crowd, moonbeams flashing and dry ice coming up from the ground....geez I was off my face !!!! Incredible moments of my informative young life. Wish I could be there once more 😜⚡💊👍
One of the greatest club tracks of all time. It's one of those records with thousands of beat up copies lying around. You could not escape this MONSTER track with that organ. See also: Steve Silk Hurley's mixes around this time for some more hammond magic.
@raulmelendez1413 I see the two magic words, and I'm there: Sound Factory. I met Junior V. on the uptown 6 in 1988. He told me his 3 step plan. 1st, 'The Space', & 2nd, 'Black Flag.' They would be two separate venues where he'd experiment with Manhattan's first mixed clubs. Both were short lived and a calling card had been sent. The invites were very specific and clear. A new place where all would be welcome, straight, homo and switch hitters. If you weren't secure in your own skin, stay home. All colors, all looking for one thing, a communal dance, trance space, NO alcohol, no smoking, no drugs. Sloppy drunks never got in. And it wouldn't OPEN until 2-3am. So most went to bed at 8-9pm got up at 2, party favors were done at home (MDMA and psilocybin) and were not to be brought into the room. And the result led to S.F,'s tagline:"Often Imitated, Never Duplicated." And only if you were there could you remember the very rare nights he created. EVERYONE was on the same vine. It drew what remain the most beautiful crowd I've ever seen. It wasn't exclusive, but it was extremely intimidating for the meek. LOL. I can remember neophytes walking in and freezing. The wave hit like the first heavy drop of this song: STUNNING faces, bodies, eyes locking without any hungry, predatory intent. And I'm only hinting at the power it held. HIV was BURNING this city down, treatment was still 6 years away. 3,4,5 funerals a week had become normal, FCS. So the communion was a once in a lifetime respite that younger generations will never know,. We were 25-30 with the understanding of our grandparents about death. And the Factory was LIFE. ❤ Jr. was a visionary. We were blessed,. It reads so hokey, but if you know, you know. Peace.

Shame on club Ozone for not having an appropriate sprinkler system, and shame on the Philippine government for failing to make sure that they had one in place!
