@Humphreys and i dont know why it's hard for people like you to understand that hes only in the beginning of his career and he is slowly progressing in terms of his opponents. And this is where the logic of "fight a boxer" makes no sense coz look at the guys tommy had fought, they're "boxers" yet they look like they couldn't even hurt a fly and compare that to tyron woodley who is way better and more dangerous. I mean would you rather have him fight a boxer who's compmete trash or an mma fighter who can actually crack?

The issue is, is that most people, including myself believe Jake Paul is a legitimately bad person. I remember when Jake released a 40$ course showing how to succeed on UA-cam and it was obviously aimed at Kids and let’s be honest, it was a scam. I even recall you and Loz reacting to it and laughing at how shambolic it was.
Obviously, we’ll never know Jake Paul behind the scenes like you do but just doing something like that, clearly exploiting your fans is just a big No No.
So seeing you stick up for someone like that, is just a bit disappointing from our point of view.

When Jake is talking about beating Canelo in a few years or any Matchroom fighter under 10 fights the “sellable” factor of a boxing match shouldn’t be so decisive.
If he wants to do the above he HAS to fight a real boxer and Tommy is a great opponent for him. Talking about whether he deserves a shot 😭

You say that to fight one of the top names in boxing jake "HAS to fight a real boxer." But the reality is that if Jake wanted to fight him tomorrow, he could put the money down and fight him tomorrow. I mean look at Logan Paul. What pro boxer did he fight before fighting Floyd fkin Mayweather? He didn't even win a single boxing match, but his fame alone got him that match. Maybe in your fantasy world where people grit and grind their way to the top of the boxing scene that may be true, but here in the real world, the biggest names get the biggest opportunities. In every boxing interview, they mention Jake's name. Even though he isn't a high level boxer, people are still talking about him and will pay to see him fight.

Jake is also hated for scamming his young fanbase at any chance he gets, and stealing designs for most of his merchandise, as well as other shitty behaviour, such as basically showing where Post Malone lives. These things were especially common a few years back, when he was doing UA-cam more frequently. This combined with his cocky attitude, does not go over well with most people. I fully understand, why you have a different view of Jake, but come on, the man is a con artist.

Yes Jake Paul is the A side against Tommy Fury, not through skill, but through his incredible ability to market himself. Kudos to Jake. However, who could possibly match Jake Paul's popularity in the boxing world that isn't either A: Another UA-camr B: Another Celebrity (And not a Boxer) or C: Already a popular boxer. A and B don't further his skillset. C: Puts him in the ring with an established Boxer that will likely, crush him. He will forever be the A Side and no up-and-coming boxer will "deserve it" - What Jakes and Fans need to accept is that his Popularity out guns his ability (Again, Kudos to Jake).

Your comment, at face value, makes a lot of sense. However, there are so many ways to even the playing field and make compromises between your three options(mainly the 3rd). The big thing that makes Jake and Logan's fights interesting is how they don't fight people their own size. They change other variables.
A lot of people hate the fact that they are facing older and smaller opponents. I think it is necessary. You shouldn't solely look at age and weight just like you shouldn't solely look at experience and fighting background. These fights are interesting because there are a lot of question marks due to all of the factors.
The Pauls have recently been fighting people with a lot more fighting experience. They may not be able to compete with these same fighters if they were in their primes or the same size. Choosing to fight these fights with size advantages could be thought of as a way to make the fight more equal.
The Pauls have considered fighting Mike Tyson. Who would win? Tyson is really old but he still looks powerful and skilled. I think he would probably smash both of them in the same night if he wanted. That isn't the point though.
At a certain age, Tyson isn't going to be the favorite. At a certain age the fight will be 50/50. Wouldn't that be a good fight? You can do the same thing with a lot of other experienced and popular fighters. It would not only provide a good challenge but also be highly competitive.
Furthermore, I don't think Jake has to ever fight a no name good boxer before he challenges someone like Canelo. Of course there is valid reason to believe he will never get to that level, but he could. Jake could choose to spar high level boxers and make progress outside of "the ring." Experience inside of the ring may be more valuable but I don't think it is the only path that leads to the top. The important thing to remember is that almost no boxers have the ability to skip "the ring" route like Jake Paul. We haven't seen it done because it hasn't even been attempted before.

The thing is if jake fought the same guys tommy fought and performed the same way tommy performed agaisnt them, the same people in the comments would be criticising his performance and say that he needs to face tougher opponents. Example of this is Jake's performance agaisnt woodley and Tommy's performance agaisnt Taylor. Alot of people were criticising Jake's performance agaisnt woodley but were praising Tommy's performance against taylor who's alot worse than woodley

Jakes output is no where near Tommy’s. Jake circles and looks to counter, boxers will cut that off an draw a reaction, cuz they want their opponents to fight off their emotions.

Hey Brian, loving the content you put out and I thought the last video was a good dive into how Paul vs Fury stack up in how it would have to be made - my only problem with it was that weekend as you say in this video was a women's match that made history and I feel like a video on that was more important than Tommy Fury

You can't exactly come with this "I say what I see" attitude and put your very assertive amateur opinions out there and then become angry when people call you out for being off base - you even said yourself in this video that youd been too harsh in the past, and that's all the majority of comments had been saying. You cant have your cake and eat it too. And for the record, Tyron Woodley has knocked out badasses yes, but all of them were grappling specialists (bar Lawler, which was a good shot), and crucially, none of those bouts were boxing matches. I dont know for sure if giraffe man would've beaten woodley, but I'm pretty confident he wouldve.

It's mad that Jake gets so much attention, dude is doing something right in that sense.
And he does seem to have talent no doubt, and works hard. But he'd get smoked by a decent professional at the moment. That's not to hate, and if he keeps putting the work in he'll improve as he has natural athletic gifts. But he hasn't shown anything so far that proves he could go 12 rounds with British or commonwealth level guys. Head movement, defensive foot work, these things take years to develop. He ain't shown he has developed them yet to take on anyone proper in the boxing world yet.
Good luck to him though, I don't get the hate for him because he doesn't effect my love of boxing or how I watch it. Tbh he annoys me far less then Teafimo does

Tommy wasn’t even first on the undercard either so I certainly would have thought people would turn up for him. Jake is a genius in regards to marketing and making him the centre of attention for good or bad. I think he deserves it but I don’t think it should be as quick as others think it should be. Potentially not even this year so both lads can get a few more fights under the belts.

tommy fought anthony tayler, a 5’7 mma fighter, on jake’s undercard & took him to decision. jake beat one of the best welterweights to ever live twice & the last fight was a one punch KO. hate all you want but jake’s talent is evident.
Tommy beat Jordan Grant and Bocianski that are 100 times more tougher than anything Jake has fought. Tommy fights people his age and size, Jake fights people who are two weightclasses below him and retired from another sport. If you watch the Taylor fight you'll realise Anthony was running away the whole fight. Learn something about boxing before making an opinion.

Regardless of the opponents that he’s fought, understand that he hasn’t fought a real boxer. What he has done as a professional and outside of his boxing career what he has accomplished and done in the sport is amazing.
Also it’s frustrating people think he actually sells PPVs there’s a reason they don’t publish the numbers on his fights, and only he reads out the number. Mostly young people know about him and they just stream his fights.

Bro I really respect your combat sports opinions, but I feel like you are too quick to cross the sports (boxing and MMA). Just because a fighter is elite in one sport, it doesn't mean that can transfer to the other at the same level. We saw this with Conor as he was probably the best striker in UFC at the time and was definitely best known for his hands, but obviously got dismantled by Floyd. Clearly we're talking about one of the best boxers of all time here, but we're also talking about one of the best strikers in UFC of all time too, and you *optimistically* predicted a Conor win. So to claim Woodley is a good barometer falls short in my opinion. I'm not saying Jake is a poor fighter by any means, I just feel like the boxing community is waiting for him to fight someone who has trained in the same craft to gauge what kind of level he actually is. All the best pal.

I think a lot of the flack you're getting comes less from your support or belief in Jake, and more from your disrespect towards and dismissal of the skills of Tommy. For some reason when speaking about jake, you ignore the glaring holes in his game, as well as the quality of his opponents. When speaking on Tommy, suddenly the holes in his game are front and centre, and his pro record is "padded". It doesnt come across well when you slate a younger guy in tommy who, talented or not (and he is), has poured his whole life into this sport while giving jake paul, who grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth, a pass for doing less work, fighting worse guys, and being a less complete fighter. Not to mention the disregard for the litany of absolutely loathsome stunts Jake has pulled over his career (looting, scamming, assault, being a total bastard at times, etc.). You've dialed back your stance on both in this video, but we all saw the previous videos. I like you, and I like the majority of your content, but I think you come across really really poorly in the way you cover this particular area.

Whatever the case may be with jake, im commenting on the unfair way in which brian criticises a much younger guy (younger than brian that is) who's been training hard his whole life, yet lets jake who let's face it, hasn't worked anywhere near as hard as tommy in this sport get away with the same things that he slates tommy for. The 2 are very similar in terms of age, height, weight etc. So why does Tommy get heaters while jake gets the star treatment?
@Wildcard and jake does? I dont necessarily have a problem with hearing tommy criticism, but to be criticising Tommy and hyping jake is laughable. That said, experts in the sport of boxing, such as Carl Froch, Dave Coldwell, Tony Bellew etc have praised Tommy's technique at various points throughout his career. Are you suggesting that you or Brian know better than them?

We dont care about how big Tommys draw is, we just want to see Jake fight a legitimate boxer. Tommy is at the level where he isn't an impossible task for Jake and he also carries the Fury name which is decent promo for the fight itself. Also Tommy could potentially be a good stepping stone for Jake Paul to go on and fight stronger competition in boxing. Not that i believe Jake Paul would beat him but it wouldn't be outside the realms of possibility than if he fought an elite boxer.

The truth though is Tommy would likely be stopping more people if the athletic commission were allowing him to fight welterweights. Jake Paul would likely be stopping less people if he was fighting heavyweights, which is the category he's rumoured to be walking around in. He's billed at 190 pounds but looks very gaunt on the scales. By the time he steps in the ring 20 roast dinners later, he's rumoured to be more like 215 pounds and to be honest he looks it. Big thick neck, torso, arms and legs, he looks like a heavyweight. Tommy's a legit light heavy, which means despite all the fuss about this finally being an opponent of the same size, means he could well himself be giving away 40 pounds or so to Jake. Sonny Bill Williams would be ideal, but that won't happen.
