Lol me and my buddies made a joke that if it did have repulsor brace that the community would have a meltdown that's it too op. I use this gun any time I'm void on hunter or warlock. Titan doesn't pair as well with it in my opinion
@@brandonwright1377 yeah someone told me a suppressor nade with a weaken nade us enough to give you 3 debuffs. I don't have the gun so I wouldn't know.

A minor correction for the information at 2:00 - to leech debuffs from a target to Collective Obligation, you do not need to kill the debuffed target; you only need to HIT them with the gun. You can see in the footage at 2:17 when they kill the hunter: the weapon's sights indicate it's acquired volatile before the hunter actually dies from the last burst. This is super relevant in PvE; when Void Leech is about to run out, you can fire a burst at a big yellow bar to 'bank' your debuffs on that enemy, then once Void Leech expires, you can shoot that enemy again to immediate re-charge any debuffs you banked on them. Properly managed, it's quite possible to maintain a truly ridiculous uptime on shooting out all three debuffs constantly.
I got crazy lucky with collective and had it drop a few weeks after the raid released, and have used it quite a lot since, as I love pulses, and think the concept behind the weapon is brilliant - let me tell you, even before the HUGE buff, this thing shines in high difficulty content, especially if it's void burn. Haven't done a GM of insight terminus without collective since i got it. I've even run it in places like the spire final boss, in place of something like breach&clear, and despite being primary ammo it more than makes up for it with all the debuff damage, and never having to reload. Don't sleep on this one.
I feel like Repulsor Brace would be the best catalyst perk for this gun. I haven't gotten it myself but it would be nice to have for either Gyrfalcon Hunters, Voidlocks, or Void Titans
Collective is one of my favorite weapons. The pve benefits of using the void leech giving it an additional 15% damage, and letting you proc the debuffs immediately after it runs out are fantastic. If it gets a cata with repulsor brace, I might lose it, as my titan has a wonderful build in pve that no one has mentioned, pairing controlled demo and offensive bulwark...
Glad Maven got some good recognition. I've used some of her builds, and they've been very good. Haven't seen the vid you recommended, but will follow the link. Keep up the high PvP kill count.
I honestly don’t understand how in a 2021 raid, we’re still getting raid exotics without catalysts. This raid had a million symbols to put to good use.
I got this 2 weeks ago and I love it, it’s a monster once you get it going. I used it in pvp and pve and it’s good for both. I’m going to go watch maven’s video to see if I can learn anything that I don’t know. Great video TV.
Nice video TV. Let me start with, I'm mainly a PVE guy. I've had this gun since well before the buff and I liked it even then, but it was such a pain to use. Since the rework? I had to stop using it because when I do use it, it's all I use. As in I forget to use my special and my heavy. And as incredible as this gun is, it's not your best bet for melting a champion or for boss DPS. It's addictive constantly debuffing enemies to steal the debuffs and then go ham on a group of ads or shred some majors with it. I finally got a clanmate of mine to run GM's with us both using Obligation and it was awesome! Continuously debuffing each other and at least one of us always having it up was OP. I think Collective Obligation with the catalysts you mentioned would be broken. Sounds amazing though.
It's wonderful to see all the people that have actually gotten this exotic. I have farmed the Vow boss several times and have never seen anyone in my team of 6 get this weapon. The drop rate is as bad if not worse than Vex Mythoclast. Thanks for the video anyway. Very interesting and maybe someday I'll be lucky enough for it to drop
Gyrfalcon buff this season makes this my new favorite combination. It's insane and nice to change things and use different guns . Survivability is great and it shreads everything.
I love this pulse, I had a pretty disgusting PVE build with it going into season of the seraph but since it was in PVE I was also using controverse holds all the time. I didn't have suppressor going really at any time, but I shot volatile/weakening rounds at pretty much all times. I would love wellspring as the catalyst, I think repulsor brace might make it to broken and then they'd end up nerfing it which I don't want them to do. At least wellspring would still take some crafting to pull off.
My favorite build to leverage the unique feel of the gun. Void Titan with: Controlled Demolition and Bastion Aspects, Suppressor Grenade, Shield Throw, and then Echo of Instability and Echo of Expulsion fragments. Heart of Inmost Light and then as much Discipline and Strength as you can get. You'll get volatile very often and suppress pretty often. Weaken will come from friendly voidwalkers and nightstalkers or enemy ones. My favorite trick with this build is to do a complete 180 with how you place your Bastion barricade, instead facing the concave part towards your enemies and dipping back into the other, convex side when you need cover. This will make it so that when you step through your barricade to shoot, it will auto-reload your gun from having overshield granted on the concave side. Rarely need to reload
I got Collective Obligation first try and it became my favorite weapon since. I always saw potential in the gun and when Bungie reworked it I couldn't be more happy, I can't wait for the catalyst to be released
I recently picked Collective Obligation back up, used it in the last iron banner and plan to take it into Lightfall. I however did not know about being able to get the debuffs by getting hit by them, I thought you had to leech them off others. It's a very good pulse now and I very much recommend using it.

I got this early on and I used it in Birthplace GM when WQ came out and it was great even then before it got the buff. I ended up using it in PvP when adaptive pulses got the buff and it was putting in work. And with the new ways to stun champs with subclass debuffs come Lightfall, this is gonna skyrocket on my usage list.
Loved the video TV, and im gonna give this thing a go again. I loved it when I got it (very early on its release) and cant wait to say hello to it again
It is a weapon that you cannot really see its power unless you're doing higher level stuff. That's how I feel about voidwalker as well. A lot of people say their only build is contraverse and dismiss child, because they can't see how good it is on patrol or a basic strike. Plus people need youtubers to tell them because they can't figure it out themselves.
I use this thing in high end pve. The buff is huge, free, and perpetual. And on warlock with devour you literally, and i mean literally, never die. its perfect for gms and im probably gonna use it in day 1 if there is an ad heavy encounter.
my dude with sbm my guys never miss period, im matching frostbolt and whalla man i cant be out there with an adaptive while they are two bursting me with no time
I'm glad that bungie decided to buff the collective obligation. I want one, but farming for Vex REALLY burnt me out on raid exotics. Glad you got yours, but so sorry that it took too many clears to obtain; i couldnt run the rhulk CP more than 10 times before giving up. Probably dungeon exotics as well.. i'm on run 25 of spire, and still no bow. Not to mention, i hate vow. It's just not a fun raid, no one in my clan likes running it, and LFG posts reflect that as well.
I still keep Undermining on suppressor grenades for the double debuff into Void Leech being charged. I just pair it with a kinetic special weapon w/demo or pugilist since special weapons give 20% ability energy back on kills (except GLs). Easily the most fun I've had with a gun in a very long time and rewarding for building into the weapon's design.
I got it on my girlfriend's account for her as a Christmas gift and she's in love with the thing. She runs it on void hunter and uses it in PvE a lot. She doesn't like pvp but I used it a couple times on her account to get a feel for it in the crucible and yeah, it slaps.
This gun is going to be even better next seasons artifact mods. Get a kill on a void debuffed target. Pick up the void breach. Get an over shield. Next shot against a target after picking up a breach weakens. CO is a .60s ttk on weakened targets. CO stores the weaken debuff and the loop continues. It’s a 390 pulse with a .6 on demand ttk and 33m of range.
collective is really the reason I stick to void as warlock after getting on like my 53ish run it legit doesnt leave my energy slot! I like to pair it with Syncant Filaments so I can get Devour w/ empowered rift!
I believe you that its a great gun. But TV and similarly other peoples biases are based on their gameplay environment. I play on console and PC, and on PC i play both controller and MnK. PC environment even with controller is still different because people move faster and MnK has certain accuracy benefits that controller doesnt (vice versa in other instances). Fact of the matter is, TV is playing crucible in a console environment where people bot walk (not a shot, console movement is just slower) He has alot more forgiveness to correct his aim than someone playing on PC. One bad position and you'll find yourself hit from 5 directions from 0.67 ttk weapons. So if youre gonna peak and duel, you better make it worth it. On top of the movement thing, SBMM punishes you for not playing optimally. There is a lack of understand because we're playing different games at times.
I got it after 3 boss cp last year clears my rng sucks so I was absolutely blown away when I got it and absolutely blown away after it being trash before the buff.
Pve wise Repulsive brace will make the weapon so good it might be unbeatable meta for gms for how good it would be. And just how easy it would be to stun champions with this weapon alone
In pvp secant filaments are only on when im using this weapon. Tried it with battle of mantle harmony. Nazeract sin and eye of another world are 2 others I need to run with it
Because I'm THAT guy. Sadly this gun is just trying to solve issues we have better answers for.
Some time ago I decided to get 1000 kills on each raid exotic. After completing my goal with Divinity, Collective was up next. I can honestly say that Div was a more effective PvP weapon. Collective feels like it’s designed to magnetize body shots in PvP. Some of my cleanest bursts would inexplicably end up as body shots despite all visually being headshots. The gun’s range also feels awful, despite being best in class for 390s.
This thing has never been really bad for pvp, especially with the ornament, since it came out pulses have been in the meta and 390's has just gotten better and better, so the exotic stats and the better ornament already makes it a good option, so all you had to do now it's use the perk
Can you throw a suppressor at your feet, leech your own suppression debuff and then fire it on someone? That would be worth using, especially in trials during the late rounds
I know this is off-topic, but did Kill Clip just get nerfed? I heard about something about this nerf being cancelled a couple months ago, but when I was looking around in light gg, apparently there's been an update to kill clip ("last update: 2023-02-12") and now it went from 33% down to 25%. Is this statement accurate? Is anyone able to confirm?
I think this gun was terrible at the beginning and is great now because of several changes being done in the game. First, adaptive frame got a buff and good pulses like Syncopation got even better. This is an Adaptive pulse in the end. The second thing, this exotic got a compleate rework. When you kill a debuff target (being volatile, weaken or supressed) you get the complete charge which at the beginning it was not like that. This is huge, specially because they also extended the time you would get Void Leech. I even used it before the rework thing and I loved it. But now, it's even better.
80 runs or at least 80 rhulk encounters Damn…It’s stuff like that makes people not enjoy these exotics cause sometimes the effort going into getting it sometimes never lives up to its potentials. Not all raid exotics have that problem but I do think adding triumphs to up up exotic drop like dungeons been doing would be great. And have more proper increased drop chances the more times you do the raid weekly on your characters in a streak or so
I feel like there's a few reasons people don't run it. 1. adaptive pulses just aren't very good atm. Yeah they are usable but 540s and 450s are very forgiving in both aa and ttk, and 340s are a 2 Burst fairly frequently, and have really good team shot potential as 1 burst is Half a players health. 2. There are just better exotics that you can run that dont require you to cater your entire loadout to making the gun work like throw on a no time or a duality and they just do the thing the exotic does with out you having to cater your stats, fragments and ability usage to make the guns perk activate 3. accessibility 4. Is that is an energy weapon, because for some in explicate reason a larg portion of the destiny player base is opposed to using energy primaries. Maybe it's because alot of the meta special weapons are in the energy slot but its been like that since forsaken people just seem to prefer kinetic primary weapons I feel like lots of people know its good I know cross made a second video after the buff with lots of praise for the weapon, I think wallah may have made a second video as well, so people know
The big L for me is that you have to apply debuffs before the gunfight. On the one hand you can only use your abilities every so often (which gets nerfed in Lightfall) on the other hand applying debuffs fells pretty unreliable. Especially nowadays where everyone just gets in cover. Maybe it's just not my playstyle but for me, I get much more use out of Witherhoard, Wishender or Duality. More often than not the gun feels like a wasted exo slot because I can't use the exo perk as frequently as I wished.
Lol yep, I run this build with a demolitionist shotgun to boot. My exotic is usually just ophidians, they’re too good a pairing with pulses. This build is fun because it is the most engaging, fluid, and rewarding build I’ve used in years. I love that it actively encourages you to use every space magic tactic you can to get an advantage on your enemies. You end up basically never taking a “fair” duel. You’re constantly leveraging abilities and/or weapon buffs to beat your enemies. The adaptive frame was the perfect choice for this philosophy. The blistering 2 burst TTK becomes possible with all your abilities and buffs assisting you. But you’ll also always get them in 3 bursts
This thing blew me away, what do you think of it?

This thing has never been really bad for pvp, especially with the ornament, since it came out pulses have been in the meta and 390's has just gotten better and better, so the exotic stats and the better ornament already makes it a good option, so all you had to do now it's use the perk
For me, the biggest problem is the sight, as i didin't get the ornament for it when it was in the bright dust store
I hope this gun doesn't get popular, it was my little secret weapon 🤫. Switching between it and graviton lance depending on the situation.
The gun should absorb all elements and use solar scorch, arc volt shot, and of course its void debuff
Imagine if it refreshed the debuf every kill you got. Like trinity ghoul
I got really lucky and got it on my first run of the raid. I use it every time I’m running Nightstalker (Hunter one-trick)
2. There are just better exotics that you can run that dont require you to cater your entire loadout to making the gun work like throw on a no time or a duality and they just do the thing the exotic does with out you having to cater your stats, fragments and ability usage to make the guns perk activate
3. accessibility
4. Is that is an energy weapon, because for some in explicate reason a larg portion of the destiny player base is opposed to using energy primaries. Maybe it's because alot of the meta special weapons are in the energy slot but its been like that since forsaken people just seem to prefer kinetic primary weapons
I feel like lots of people know its good I know cross made a second video after the buff with lots of praise for the weapon, I think wallah may have made a second video as well, so people know
The big L for me is that you have to apply debuffs before the gunfight.
But you’ll also always get them in 3 bursts
with how many people will probably run void in lf because of that new ov fragment, itll only get better
After a gm last night having fun with the gun, I’m gonna go into crucible and destroy some people after work
So if being hit by a void debuff gives you the leech, what if you suppress yourself?
It’s my absolute favorite exotic and I’ll never remove it.
So can you suppress yourself and apply it to the weapon??
