Is it horrible all I can think is he is actually cheering us up with "Depression" glass... sorry it made me chuckle...like a lot...and out loud!😂🤣 I absolutely love all the glass! I wish it was in my home!😍
Had to go back and watch this video again, if only for the fact that Salem is still very much missed. One can't help but feel a little tug at the heart every time that old footage of him appears at the end of your videos. Always reflect on those 20 years of joy he brought you, and I hope the memories continue to sustain you and make you smile! Have faith knowing he's in Heaven now where his suffering is over and he's being taken care of and looked after by your dad! It'll sure be a glorious day when all 3 of you are reunited! Blessings to you always.
Hi Scott in Salem. You were right. This gloomy weather really does bring a person down. However, watching your video was a good pick me up. Wish I could just click on episode number two. I have many pieces of depression glass and quite a lot of elegant pieces of depression glass that were handed down to me by my mom and her mom. I remember my mother telling me these are very collectible and worth a lot of money. That wasn’t an excuse to sell them LOL. I still have them and I still enjoy them. 😊
Salem is a beautiful sable color! Thank you for teaching me even more glass companies I did not know. I was gifted an “Unbreakable dish set” Same amethyst color in the early 80s. My now husband came over for our first date. During dinner I informed him he was dining off unbreakable glass. I took a cup and winged it at the wall. It smashed to pieces 😑 He later told me that he stuck around after that 😉!!
Scott, loved this Part 1 of your Depression Glass Series. I am learning so much from your descriptions of this type of glass. My favorites were the elegant glass open sugar & creamer with the black bottoms. Also, loved seeing Salem in this video. He looks wonderful for his age! 😽
I love when I tune in to UA-cam and you're on! It's like getting a verity show. Thank you for all your time editing and wrk that goes into your craft. You're so kind to think of everyone who maybe going thru the "blues". I'm so glad we have you to fill/ fulfill our days. Kitty looks great!!
Thanks for sharing Salem he’s a beauty decorating is awesome. Thank you for helping keeping folks strong During these winter months with your colorful depression glass. I took down Christmas and put up colorful snow flakes and white lights anything wintry 🥶. Also lots of 💕

The second blue bowl is not a bowl is a candle holder the 3 point are suposto look up I think my mom had 2 the look like it but I remember those when I was a little girl 😉😀. Not in that particular color 👍👍
I do still have 2 pieces of depression glass handed down from my grandmother. One is a green cake plate in the Cherry Blossom pattern by Jeannette and the other is a ruby Old Cafe pattern candy dish by Anchor Hocking. I myself am partial to the wheel etched/engraved elegant depression glass pieces by Cambridge, Fostoria, Heisey, etc. I like how the glass sparkles compared to regular depression glass. Thanks for the video. I love looking at sparkly colored glass on a drab winter day.
Just gorgeous as usual, Scott! Can't wait to bid on a few items and to see parts 2 and 3 (or even 4 or 5)😊 Thanks for taking the time to identify and share with us, and yes, whenever I see Bubble, I think of my grandmother fondly. Happy New Year & hugs to you and Salem! XO
Which is my favorite??? Mmm... Not a fair question⁉️ I like irises, so that iris pitcher is in the running! And the yellow Florentine cup and saucer and the lone dessert plate are very high on the list!!! As far as items in the family, the etched pie plate is the only one I can think of. Looking forward to however many instalments you may post.
Thank you Scott and Salem for the very informative video on the depression glass I learned a lot and on the bubble I always see the blue here in silicon Valley I never the crystal also thank you for mentioning about the depression to help people become aware of themselves to to get it out there that there are people that care and Salem is wonderful as always
Yes, Julie.....so important to exercise, try to eat healthy meals and stay as connected as possible. January is a tough month for folks with depression.
I love the Cooperative Flint piece. How neat it would be to find all three pieces. I enjoy your channel so much. Thank you for taking time to share what you know. I learn something new just about every-time I watch. FYI... I never miss a video so I learn a lot!😉. I can’t wait for the next depression glass videos! Lots and Lots of love to you and sweet Salem from South Arkansas!🥰
Thanks Scott, this is great to learn the differences of Depression Glass. I find so much while thrifting and honestly only purchase pieces that speak to me. Looking forward to your coming Depression Glass videos, thanks 👏❤️👏❤️
Enjoyed beautiful glass ! I have a vague memory of my granny Roebuck having peach luster coffee cups. My grandparents always lived in another state. So only saw them maybe Christmas or summer. Thanks for sharing. Sam is a lucky kitty cat. I had two cats one 17 and 16 years old. They both went into renal failure close to same time. It hurts when you have had them that long:(. I sure hope Salem’s health continues to be good.
Wasn't this fun?!---I inherited the iris/herringbone from my husbands paternal Grandmother, but it was all clear. In/around Albuquerque, it was always the clear that I ran across. Only since I moved back to California did I come in contact with examples in the gold.---It would interest me to learn that you decide to move all your greenwares onto the window sometime later. I used to grab anything cheap (chipped or not). But ended up focusing on the roulette pattern, and have quite a few pieces of that. It all looks amazing (the last time I laid a table, many/many years ago!)
All your items on this video were outstanding; however, I would choose the "frogless" bowl trimmed in green as my favorite and will most likely receive a bid from me when it comes up for auction. I'll be watching Parts 2 and 3!

Salem said Now, put me down. You have made my entire month because I will rewatch the depression glass series as this is my favorite glass. The light blue and the yellow were beautiful. I have my great grandmothers pink creamer and sugar bowl and they are my favorites that I own.
What a wonderful video's series you got on depression glass, can't wait for the rest of them. I'm a reseller and this is going to be my to go to learn all those patterns. Thanks for the video
Salem is a very lucky cat. He certainly is beautiful. Thank you so much for taking the time to talk about the beautiful pieces that you find. I have a few pieces of depression glass plates and one pink bowl with the 3 “footing” legs on it. They belonged to my mother in law, which also got some of her mother’s pieces. I was told that they came in laundry soap detergent boxes. Not sure if that’s really true. I used the bowls and plates once for a bridal shower. A friend told me that I needed to put them in a “safe” place so they wouldn’t get broke. I’ve never used them. Just displayed in my curio cabinet that I converted from my late father’s hunting gun case. I love the look of them standing up with doilies behind them that brings out the colors. My thrift stores really never have the kind of pieces that your thrift stores do. I’m looking forward to your next videos. I loved the sapphire blue dishes. My mom had a set of dishes in the ruby red at one time. Have a blessed night. 😊
I am a dork, but there is nothing more fun to me than looking through the old depression glass books. I learn something new every time I go through them. You have some lovely glass ware. Can't wait to see the other videos! Thanks for sharing!

Dear Scott, as you know from my previous comment, I your depression glass. When you announced the upcoming shows, I nearly jumped out of my chair, I cannot wait for them, especially "Part 3", with more of the jewel collection that you have. Love the beautiful colors, they make me very happy, so thank you, Scott! I'm going to start this video again, because....yes, just because. xo xo Jersey Ann
Scott a Fabulous Depression Glass Extravaganza Part 1. The Hair pin soup bowl and plate are my favorite. It's purple or amethyst color is lovely. GREAT VIDEO AND GREAT CONTENT. THUMBS-UP ALWAYS!!!!!!!!
I'm watching this super informative depression glass video on 2-26-2023. I think I watched it when you originally posted it around 2 years ago, just can't recall. I want to watch the additional videos because I enjoy learning about these beautiful pieces. My favorite is the Hazel Atlas double handled soupbowl & plate. I can imagine doing a dining table set for 6 with an entire dinner service for 6 in this very charming Hazel Atlas pattern. I now plan to scout around for a complete service for 6 or put a service together piece by piece. The color & style are truly something new to me...and I do enjoy resetting my dining room table with change-outs of dishes plus the occasional new settings. Thanks for doing these videos!
Very educational presentation. Thank you Scott. Looks like the HA bubble pattern has great optic refraction. The 1960s HA El Dorado Dot pattern has fantastic optic refraction, such gorgeous glass. Looking forward to parts 2 and 3. Thank you!
When you say under-plate mom and I giggle every time at your best line...under-plate underpants under-plate underpants. We love your videos, thanks for your knowledge and humor.
I love how educational your posts are. I have several depression pieces from my Grandmother, but don't really have a place to display them any longer. I did start collecting jadeite recently. Love watching you and thanks for the help.
Thank you so much! That was wonderful. I was feverishly taking notes...I love to learn about depression glass so thank you for all of your research and knowledge and sharing it with us. Ever since I saw you drinking your coffee from your yellow Florentine cup and saucer, I have been in love with that color. I found a little creamer and saucer which was a mix of Florentine#1 and #2. So I guess seeing that and learning about that was my favorite. Can't wait for parts 2, 3, 4, as many as it takes!!!!!
That amazes me every time you mention Salem's age! I hope he has another few years yet! I love seeing the little sweetie on your videos. There's a man at a flea market close to me that sells nothing but antiques, depression and carnival glass so every time I go there I'll take a few pics to see if I can find it online or in my books. Oh boy this was fun!!!! Back in the 70s 80s and 90s when my best girlfriend and I went Antiquing all around Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky this was what we LOVED!!! And it was a real Special treat to find a little "something" that we could afford and then take home and find just the right place for it!!! We still have many of our treasures to reminisce about when and where we found them. And we still do prefer to go on the hunt all dressed up and be able to do lunch and make a day of it!!! But this tonight was fun! I think the Coasters were my favorites...aside from your Christmas tree and fireplace👵💖🦋.
I hated to see it come to an end! My favorites were the Imperial Big Gulp optic tumblers and the Chloe piece. I'm also a fan of Bubble in the sapphire blue. I had more a Kitchen Table than a Dining Room upbringing, but I do like peeking in! ✨😊✨
Delightful show today Scott! I just love the Iris Herringbone. I have several pieces in my collection including the iridescent pitcher, cake plates, some bowls and saucers, also the pitcher and goblets in clear. Your filming spot was perfect to highlight the lovely glass. And then, Salem. I had a precious kitty that lived into her 17th year. Cats are special, aren't they?
I loved the Hazel Atlas Moroccan amethyst tea cups and the colour was so rich on the New Port soup bowls also, they look iridescent. We’re they a bit iridescent or was that the bright natural light?
Hello Scott and Salem! I absolutely love how you change the format up, I’m constantly learning from you. We have Peach State Depression Glass Club in metro Atlanta that I joined for a little while. They have a huge glass show every August, when not in lockdown of course. It was really fun and full of fun people. I’m probably wrong, but my guess on your small green glass bowl is a Viking Glass flower frog bowl. But I’m not sure if they made that light green color. Huge thumbs up on this series! 👍
Scott, you have such Beautiful glass! I love Depression glass! I 'm not a resaler! So have to be careful not to be a horder...haha... I display pieces I own around my home, so I can enjoy❣ Take Care Scott and thank you
I was always overlooking both the Newport (hairpin) and Oyster & Pearl pieces because I found them mostly in the fired on Platonite (Hazel Atlas) and Vitrock (Anchor Hocking) colors. Thanks for the lessons.
My Gran had the entire set of “Bubble”, including all the serving dishes and tea service, all in the pale blue. She kept that set in the China cabinet as her “good company dishes”, and I loved them. She got them as a complete set when she married my Granther, and was fiercely protective of them. Any child caught taking any out of the cabinet was in for trouble. She also had a set of lustre ware in apricot, with paired leaved all around the rims. The kitchen cabinets with the every day dishes were crammed full of mis matched pieces of fine English China, and I always tried to get a squared off plate when setting table for dinner. She had a cherry Orchard pitcher in green, which she used to make lemonade for us kids when we took lunches alfresco. All that fine depression era glass brings her back to me clear as day.🖤🇨🇦
Im new to your channel and I really love what you represent! So these are all my favorite!! Just really beautiful pieces👀!! Thank you for your knowledge it's really nice that you share it!! And what a blessing to have a furbaby for 20yrs!! ❤ 🖖🏾
Scott, I have that exact same pie plate you showed. I had no idea the pattern name but knew it must be older. I love it and use it to plate muffins and scones. thanks for sharing.
I have very little depression glass. Love it though. All of my Christmas decorations are staying put until February. I'm in Ca. So we have a lot of sun still..no snow. Thanks Scott.
The little green bowl is actually the bottom half of a vase. It had a clear glass frog that sat on top with a taper holder in the center. It came in other colors including pink. Made I think in the 50s.
Salem is such a beautiful cat!! I'm just praying 🙏🙏 that you have *extended* time with him. Stay safe while thrifting and have fun! 😷😊😷

I loved the Hazel Atlas Moroccan amethyst tea cups and the colour was so rich on the New Port soup bowls also, they look iridescent. We’re they a bit iridescent or was that the bright natural light?
No there is no iridescent finish to the New Port so it must have been the sun light!~
The Black & Crystal Sugar and Creamer are Stunning !
Thank you so much. Great guess on the bowl with the 3 legs.
Love the pink cambridge compote and the amethyst thanks for sharing
Scott, you have such Beautiful glass! I love Depression glass! I 'm not a resaler! So have to be careful not to be a horder...haha... I display pieces I own around my home, so I can enjoy❣ Take Care Scott and thank you
Scott thank you for this. I really enjoyed the sharing and appreciate the effort in doing something like this.
😍 Crystal and black creamer set - wow!
Thanks for showing me your beautiful depression glass.😃
LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this video! Thanks.
Loved it all! Looking forward to future videos on depression glass! 👍
I was always overlooking both the Newport (hairpin) and Oyster & Pearl pieces because I found them mostly in the fired on Platonite (Hazel Atlas) and Vitrock (Anchor Hocking) colors. Thanks for the lessons.
That is exactly why I moved to Florida! Best decision ever❤️❤️❤️

I loved all the information, thank you for the lesson. Great job!
The little green bowl is actually the bottom half of a vase. It had a clear glass frog that sat on top with a taper holder in the center. It came in other colors including pink. Made I think in the 50s.
Scott thank you so much for your education on Depression Glass. I found a pink console bowl with etchings that im researching.😀
