Tim, we've been given a rare insight by you on this particular journey. I feel so priveleged with what you've shared. Yet again, you've overcome PLENTY and once again your achievement is OUTSTANDING! Well done and thank you. Peace - Mike
10th is gd bro! thanks for the motivation. i intend to start jogging once my leg totally recovers. in the mean time, ive given up meat, dairy and eggs. drinking more water and hope to sleep earlier. i ran my 1st 10km last year with e result of about 1:29. not the best but it was my first time. hope to start once my leg heals. love to hear more from you bro! God bless!
Congrats Tim. I think those runners living/training at higher elevations have a definite advantage in terms of lung capacity and cardiovascular endurance.
Can you explain the "fittest I've ever been" remark? How have you been able to continuously get even more fit? Are you doing anything differently compared to the last few years to see gains? Thanks Tim!
Based on the absolute maximum I could sustain on a Stairmaster I haven't got a hope in hell of smashing the record times. 102 steps per minute for 5 minutes. Next time I'm in the gym I will try and hold that for 100 floors. How much stairclimbing is this and how much running looking for the next set of stairs? Having said that I'd probably get really geeky, measuring the step height and then setting a metronome on my phone to climb precisely at my lactate threshold. Based on 1576 steps to 1050 feet, it seems the empire state building also has 8" steps like the Matrix C3X, and thus I should climb at precisely 102 to get a personal best, assuming minimal landing transitions, yet it looks awfully slow compared to most of these racers. Good news is I should be able to get 5/6 of my bodyweight and increase speed by 20%. This is the beauty I think of stair climbing. You do not need a fancy powermeter to pace yourself like on a bicycle, all you need is a metronome, or if you prefer, some of your favourite songs edited to your tempo of choice.
Great job Tim! Those girls popped out of nowhere. I wish you caught an interview with the NZ and UK girls. They must have done high altitude mountain training, to beat those guys, and with their shorter girl stature/legs.
Tim, are you the only one wth only natural foods? This is so amazing what you do so great sucess and great inspiration to geto ut an move. what ever what make us fun to move and play.
you are incorrect about about the flatiron building not the worlds first skyscrapper it isThe Home Insurance Building was built in 1884 in Chicago, Illinois, USA and destroyed in 1931
@runningraw - What's with you getting the #22? What's with the disrespect? I really don't understand the deal with NYRR. Also, why the hell was the Elite start only 17 guys and 11 gals? RIDICULOUS!
