The Nobel Prize in Physics 2000 was awarded "for basic work on information and communication technology" with one half jointly to Zhores I. Alferov and Herbert Kroemer "for developing semiconductor heterostructures used in high-speed- and opto-electronics" and the other half to Jack S. Kilby "for his part in the invention of the integrated circuit."
These two introductory lectures are great at illustrating the "big picture" of semiconductor technology. I will be sure to make time to watch the rest of this lecture series.
Excellent and inspirational Lecture. A common man can understand the lecture. It is very informative. This lecture is twofold. One is the valuable contents of this talk, and the other one is how to teach; how to motivate and how to inspire others.
i just watched this lecture. some corrections are in order. Class 10 clean room means among several other metrics, no more than 1,020 0.3um particles and no more than 10,000 0.1um particles. . similarly class 1 clean room has metrics of no more than 102 0.3u and 1000 0.1u particles.
this is a true quality lecture with best efforts but the only con is the picture quality. please make it hd (atleast 720p) so that every thing becomes crystal clear
