The first two are land marks and that is followed by 2 water marks.
WOW! Your first test? There is no stopping this guy.
congrats to you and charger you two make a great team keep the videos coming they are great!
Nice job Charger he swims like a motor boat
Good job! Quesion...what if he went in the pond, up on the levy, then didn't swim back but ran around the pond on his return trip? Would they deduct? I need to have my lab Jr. Hunt certified, he's been able to do that for a few years, just don't know all the rules. Thanks!
+ Peter Stratton- lol It's a 'blind' and part of the test setup.
Very well done.
that pond was sad but dog did great
Is the only difference between this and master hunter being able to mark multiple at once? And do you have to do jr training before trying for master hunter?
There are three levels of hunt test for retrievers. Junior we see here, 2 individual land marks and 2 individual water marks. Senior, which is, 1 individual land mark, 1 individual water mark, 1 multipld land mark, 1 multiple water mark.
And Master which is 5 hunting situations including blind marks, multiple marks on land and water simultaneously, retrieving marks w in the diversions. The master Hunter test is also judge quite a bit more strictly.
You don't have to do any previous test but it's recommend. AKC hunt test are also breed restricted. Limited registration may compete.
dump the screen label!!! can not see it
Wow that test looked easy! Were there no blinds in the junior?
two marked land and two marked water in juniors the objective is marking skills and retrieve to hand with young dogs. it gets a lot harder later
I think it’s still pretty hard 99% of dogs can’t do this
cool vid. can you remove the ad?
nice job
@pmalmberg
Wat did he score or finish?
hey I was wondering, I have a hunt test coming down here to New Orleans next month right, from watching your video the Junior Hunt Test is 4 total retrieves correct? ( 2 land, 2 water). And it looked like you were holding your dog by the collar at the "heel" or did it just appear that way? What are the Judges grading you on exactly? any info helps, Thanks a lot, and great video
Ive done hunt test trials before. This looks like he is going for his Started title. Singles and holding the collar are allowed. The retrieves are very short.
We have videos and blogs of our conservation efforts for turtles and that is all thanks to BOYKIN SPANIELS that find the turtles for us!!
