Small tip, if you level the car with the centre of the rotisserie you will litterly spin it with one hand on your own.. adjust the threaded bars on the front and rear to get the car to the centre

Welds look a tad cold but will be sufficient for its purpose. Good job! Might want to practice pushing instead of dragging. This will allow you to shape your bead profile a bit and get you a more desired look.

When welding thicker stuff its wise to chamfer the edge so you get better penetration, in this case 45 degree angle on the square tube. Clamping the flange to your working surface (preferably metal table or even a sheetmetal on top of that wooden table) will prevent some of the warping. Also its easier for beginner to just weld straight and not try to use that "walking cup" method and if you need "more weld" just do another pass, this also helps with the warping because you can move faster and the heat dosn't stay in one place too long.

You don't try to hide the things that go wrong, and you are just an honest person when it comes to sharing your experiences. Not only do I, but everyone that watches your videos appreciates this. News skillz leveled up there Grant! Keep up the good work. Curious though since I saw the attic...since you are using it for storage and now the airlines, would it be worth insulating the ceiling itself with sprayfoam and removing it under the floor so the heat can rise to those 2x8s? I guess the challenge is the vapour barrier that is probably already installed at the garage ceiling.

How to learn how to weld: lots of time in practice and a good teacher. That's my way of learning. If you could watch a few videos and practice a lot, that could work.
Having a band saw to cut open your welds, to see if you have the correct generation also helps. Like I said lot of time and practice will make you good enough. Each type of welding has its own time in practice though. Mig is easy, used to weld kawasaki quad and mule frames. Easy thin material. Then I was a fabricator, installing truck boxes on digger derricks and bucket trucks. Thicker material. Never needed a cert either, but I I was also a welp instructor after sand blasting and powder coating. Also, some robot welding, had to learn some easy cad systems.

Clean off the black paint another inch or so back and then what you should have done is run a 45 degree bevel all the way around so that you can more easily penetrate the base metal as well as the receiver. Just think of doing whatever you can to get the metal up to molten temp and all the way through. Beveling it allows the puddle to get in further more easily and part of that is the thinnest metal is hotter because it’s the thinnest part of the joint.
Hope this helps brother! Follow back
