Skypiea is generally a contentious arc but it hit me at exactly the right time of my life and I'll always remember how I felt when the Merry 'flew' up the knock up stream, one of the first times I realized how special One Piece had become to me.
I don't think there's a genuinely BAD One Piece arc. **SPOILERS for whoever is just at this arc right now** I personally think Alabasta dragged on a little bit too much, Wapol and Foxy were annoying as heck and Thriller Bark had a fairly anticlimatic conclusion. That said, Alabasta gave us Vivi and Mr. 2, Zoro vs. Mr. One, Nami vs. Ms. Double Finger and Chopper and Usopp vs. Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas plus the beautiful moment with the "X" marks salute. Drum Island gave us Chopper, Luffy climbing a mountain with Nami and Sanji on his back, the cute moment with everyone sleeping in Nami's room and the beautiful backstory of Dr. Hiriluk, with its perfect conclusion. Foxy's arc was kinda lame and very filler-ish, but it was inoffensively short and we got the funny Afro Power Luffy fight and the hilarious Zoro and Sanji collaboration. Thriller Bark gave us Perona and Kuma, some of the most hilarious scenes in the whole show when Luffy and the guys went to look for Nami, Chopper and Usopp and, unlike them, pretty much put the everloving fear of pirates into every monster and zombie they met (Luffy shoving back the zombie into the ground without saying a single word is still one of my favourite funny moments ever in any anime). Also, we got Usopp vs Perona, that was great, and, last but not least, we got the "nothing happened" moment. Every single arc in One Piece has ist moments and is worth watching just for them. Would anyone really want to miss Sanji saving Nami and Usopp from Eneru, Eneru's own shocked face reaction, Noland's actual backstory, and Luffy ringing the bell? Come on. Skypiea has absolutely great moments. And Eneru is a fantastic villain.
First episode is a lot of lore dumping; tough to keep up with sometimes. Brief recap of the world building: 1) Shanks sent a member of his crew , “rockstar”, to deliver a message to whitebeard. The message was about ace and Blackbeard. 1b) to recap from earlier; ace is currently hunting down Blackbeard, for a reason I can’t remember if you’ve been told or not lol 2) Blackbeard was the pie guy; he sent “Lafitte” to the holy land (where the Navy is), to recommend Blackbeard for Warlord. 3) Blackbeard is now looking to hunt luffy because he’s worth over a 100 million. It’s implied he thinks this will help him become a warlord. 4) you met two other Warlords; Donquixote Doflamingo, and Bartholomew Kuma. 5) Shanks is now sailing to whitebeard to talk; however they fear the Navy will try to stop this meeting. 6) whitebeard is big af, and clearly not healthy. He’s also the strongest man in the world.
Skypiea is an underrated arc, to the point some people actually skip it, which is a shame because it’s one of the most important in terms of the themes of One Piece, maybe people just don’t like the romance of it
U did an amazing job taking notes..here are 2 u missed tho 1. In chopper island a guy mentions that 5 people calling themselves Blackbeard destroyed an entire country 2. There is a D in his name just like luffy " Marshall D teach"
I never realized how much worldbuilding 151 did. Also note that Whitebeard is more accurately translated as "White Facial Hair" so the mustache is appropriate even though he has no beard.
Skypiea!! These 3 episodes are wild. An island in the sky is such a dream, I thought I could swim in the clouds like Usopp when I was a kid 🥲 I love that because anything can happen in the Grand Line, all these fantastical places feel so grounded in a way. Watching them adventure warms my heart.
5:23 answering your question. in this case, Bellamy was "accumulating kinetic energy" in order to deliver a stronger blow. in case it didn't help since Luffy knocked him down very easily after that but that's what he was doing. and it makes sense actually it's very similar to what Luffy himself does with his blows (the Gum gum pistol for example Luffy throws his arm back and stretches it far and then comes back and lands a powerful punch)
It would also have been completely useless because Luffy is a rubberman! Even if he didn't fight back, Bellamy would still be incapable to hurt him without weapons or without throwing him into the sea xD
Whole second comment just to say I love that you and every single person that has reacted to this show that I've seen so far has had the exACT reaction to Pierre's transformation reveal. *Gasp* "A Pegasus?! That's so Co-Oh."
I am surprised that there are people who think of skipping this arc when it is canon content as well as being one of the most important for the plot. Also several funny moments.
I'm late to comment but the scene where Luffy beats Bellamy is one of the most satisfying moments in the whole show. Also, those characters you saw from episode 151 earlier, I won't say too much but they are NO JOKE!
I absolutely love the Bellamy vs Luffy fight, it was one of the moments where I absolutely raved about One Piece to my friends, unapologetically so...for such a build to be finished so....bluntly, was AMAZINGLY SATISFYING, I'm always screaming when I rewatch that fight. Yeah, the world building in One Piece truly highlights not just Oda's storytelling but how amazing the world of One Piece is. It definitely stands out as each island introduces something, something new, something connecting to a past moment, something hinting at a future event. You can never quite tell when something is setting up a future plot point or lead in to previous island, and brings you back for more...MY GAWD I STILL LOVE THIS SHOW, even rewatching it for the nTH time, thank you for sharing your journey Katy
Yeah, Taking notes is a big part of the current popular One Piece Reactors now. Some are even making bulletin boards. It's also better to rewatch episodes if you think you missed a lot of Lore Stuff.
Robin's Flower Flower fruit basically lets her bloom her body parts like little flowers anywhere she wants whether its on the wall, the floor, herself or others but they are all ultimately still parts of her. Does it have perverse possibilities? yer damn skippy. Can it technically have 1 shot capability? most devil fruits could if they didn't come up with arbitrary limitations!
So for episode 150 Lafitte was pining for Blackbeard as warlord (for some reason) Ace was hunting Blackbeard in alabasta Shanks is the captain of the red hair pirates White Beard aka Edward Newgate is the captain of the White Beard pirates and aces captain Shanks is setting up a meeting with White Beard to talk about ace confronting blackbeard
If it's One Piece, yeah you need to take notes. Maybe like a whiteboard on that wall of yours with christmas lights. Since you're a reactor, it's a must.
Jack iShinobi and Dapper Darius both keep notes. The sticky notes on the wall is likely iShinobi, and Darius writes everything down in journals. These episodes are so much Lore Piece that it's great. It's very difficult to keep track of everything unless you're Tekking101 who has god-like memory.
Oda is so clever with his world building! I still can't believe people skip this arc 🙃 There soooo much going on and some of it is stuff you need to know. The anime did stretch things out quite a bit, but it was fun!
@16:41 I think the reactor you’re talking about is ishinobi😂 man’s actually have a wall covered with sticky notes of one piece. But yeah I’d suggest you start taking notes as well. Things are about to go insaneee
What makes Bellamy such a pathetic villain for me is how easily he went down. All that tough talk, and all Luffy needed was a single ordinary punch, like, not even Gomu Gomu No Pistol or Bullet, just a punch. Also, every time I watch these episodes, I'm reminded of when the FUNimation dub first aired on TV, back before they redubbed the whole thing and just went right ahead of Skypeia. There was a 4kids defender who seriously thought the people not knowing Luffy's new bounty was a plot hole FUNimation invented and that these episodes were made by them. I wish I was joking.
i love how luffy didnt' use a gum gum move, not even the simplist pistol, because bellamy wasn't worth it. He wasn't worth a normal punch either, but sometimes you gotta put a little bitch in his place
This is the point where the OP world REALLY opens up, for sure. On one side, we're introduced to more warlords, the head of the marines, and most importantly, the elders who run the World Government. On the other side, we finally get introduced to one of the most powerful pirates in the world, find out that Shanks is a much bigger player than we first thought, and discover the guy Ace was hunting down was basically hiding in plain sight. Yeah, I can see how that can be a lot to take in the first time around, heh. 😋 But let's put that aside for now, because it's time for a new adventure! The sky is already full of such wonders upon the crew's arrival.... what more awaits them? 😉
@@ohkaty of course! and okay i just wanted to make sure, I'm sorry it hasn't shown up yet, but it makes sense my Nami took like 3 months to show up lol😁

Yes, Kuma has bear ears lol Kuma is actually the Japanese word for bear if you didn't know :)
legit dropped everything the sec i got notifs, as somebody that is obsessed with op reactions urs have been a joy for me recently
This is my first time seeing/hearing of a wishlist. Brb.
AAHHH THIS IS WILD, thank you SO much! 😭

Questioning if shanks, the only important character with red hair in the story, is called "Red-Hair" is both adorable and funny

So happy this came out as soon as I woke up ❤
Robin's devil fruit powers is straightforward, she can pop out any of her body parts from any surface
@ishinobi has tht wall full of sticky note.
This was a fun set of episodes. A new adventure begins! Pierre is the best Pegasus.
I'm happy you didn't skip this arc ❤
I am surprised that there are people who think of skipping this arc when it is canon content as well as being one of the most important for the plot. Also several funny moments.
@@Kayver2C and also i think this arc is the only adventure they have
It's very surprising seeing Usopp swimming on that sky sea. Just like how Sanji pointed a gun on Robin the first time she's introduced.
Idk if u noticed but Blackbeard's real name is Marshall D. Teach
One Piece was made for people like you. You truly appreciate every stop on this epic adventure. We love to see it 🫶🏻
Robin can grow "any" part of her body anywhere as far as she can see. That's her ability in a nutshell
Piecing together things is one of the great joys of the journey
This Ark is actually really important for later arcs
151 was such a good lore piece episode
Love your reaction this is a great arc
I'm late to comment but the scene where Luffy beats Bellamy is one of the most satisfying moments in the whole show. Also, those characters you saw from episode 151 earlier, I won't say too much but they are NO JOKE!
Blackbeard was the guy that attacked Drum Island
In episode 151, Luffy points to the sky. You should remember this scene.
Shanks crew is called Red hair because of his hair👌👍
0:28 "Chestnut-head man and the monkeys" sounds like a great name for a band.😂

Blackbeard was part of Whitebeard Pirates and before leaving he killed a crewmate, that is why Ace is chasing him
Stop spoiling.
@@sfguzmani I am not spoiling, Ace told Strawhats as much in Alabasta
Blackbeard is the person that Ace is chasing.

Luffy is my boy and Zoro is a close 2nd but I live for the rare appearances of Dracule (Hawk-Eye) Mihawk and Red-Haired Shanks.
Chesnut Headman and the Monkeys sounds lit
So for episode 150
Lafitte was pining for Blackbeard as warlord (for some reason)
Ace was hunting Blackbeard in alabasta
Shanks is the captain of the red hair pirates
White Beard aka Edward Newgate is the captain of the White Beard pirates and aces captain
Shanks is setting up a meeting with White Beard to talk about ace confronting blackbeard

The three great powers are one The Seven Warlords of the Sea, then, second are the Marines (Navy), the third has not been revealed yet👌👍
