OMG I only just found out that Lynsey De Paul died she is my husbands greatest love (Besides me lol) he told me he fallen in love with her since he was 13 years old and had a everlasting crush on her which never changed all his life..It is sad she never married or had children as she was one of the best woman that ever lived and always thought of others before herself, she was sweet and kind and caring human being that always smiled even that she had a hard life with abuse as a child and violence in some past relationships but she always helped others and got involved with anti-violence in relationship organisation. She was a animal rights as she was vegetarian and even had a three legged cat called tripod, she never smoked or drank but she liked her tea.She was one of the most beautiful woman that ever lived which graced this planet earth she had inner beauty as well as outer beauty. She had many countless hits such as (Sugar Me) and (Storm in a teacup) and many more and was a talented song writer she also won awards in her early days she designed album covers which she got her first flat and so on the rest is history as she then went into legend. She may be gone but NEVER forgotten as she has made her mark on this planet.Even after death her organs saved three other lives a humanitarian right up to the end.I feel a statue should be erected somewhere in her honour.R.I.P Lynsey your sadly missed.
Had a 3 foot poster of her on my bedroom wall in the 70s, the original sex on legs. She didn't have to bear all to sell records like unlike the so called pop stars of today- and the the music was much better back then , so bloody boring today .
Veronika Gibbins What you strangly seems to ignore is that your husband had an intimate meeting with Lyndsey a couple of times in a cheap motel. It happened after you married him. Ask him and try to make him confess
Veronika Gibbins Wow, didn't know all that. I've only heard of her just now, from a video of Claudine Longet cover of her song. What a truly beautiful woman!!! So sad that she is gone. Now I feel awful about Longet covering this amazing woman's song, because Longet is nothing like her!
Absolutely brilliant singer songwriter. 60s 70s to me were the best years of my life. Saw her on tv quite a few times. What a lovely lady taken far too soon as were quite a few legends. I was 25 back then I think she had a 3 legged cat that she called tripod. Unfortunately I’m of a certain age now. But it’s nice to remember the good times. May she rest in peace God bless her.
Clare Sherman - She had a great voice! Pitch perfect all the time? No. Pitch perfect is lame if the voice is boring anyway! Her singing had style! Class and style! Natural and beautiful!
Just found today that she passed. I so think of my school days when I hear this... Heart breaking... But am l the only one who thinks there is a comparison with Kate Bush? Both beautiful and talented, although I know Kate is a one off. Love them both...
@@euanelliott8068 : You never saw her arse or crotch either! Many of today's top female performers make up for their lack of talent with copious displays of flesh. Classy & hugely talented lady until the end.
Richard Leigh Class? She was banged more times than my front gate mate - by Dudley Moore, Chas Chandler, Roy Wood, Ringo Starr, James Coburn, Bill Kenwright, Dodi Fayed, Sean Connery, George Best, Bernie Taupin and David Frost to name a few. There's nothing wrong with that, but let's not try and pretend she was some kind of high class bird.
@@sratus Hang on a minute, not all of those guys you name were boyfriends, many were just friends. I was Lynsey's housekeeper for eleven years and she had many male friends but they were not sexual.

I just found out that Lynsey died on 1 October 2014 aged only 66 and leading a very healthy lifestyle. I came here after reading her obituary. I can't remember this song from 1975 although I remember Wont somebody dance with me? very clearly.
She was a vegetarian i believe. Evidentally she is not unusual having died with a brain haemorrhage and being a none meat eater. There is a pattern of this happening statistically.
Lynsey De Paul is the best "Sugar me" was the number one song in south america in october of 1972 There are many versions of "sugar me" but her version is the best !
22grena lol very true. yes she's a Jewish rose. she's only being claimed as an English Rose because she doesn't have the stereotypical Jewish look e.g. like Amy Winehouse, if she did I bet you they'll be saying something else.
Absolutely love this live recording, it is a definite testament that an on-the-spot performance can rival a recording (if that was actually the concern to have people mostly mime on TOTP). Even the voice break at 1:20 doesn't detract from this. Absolutely ace performance.
Lynsey did some great stuff. Think she wrote all her own songs, some with the great Barry Blue. The theme for 'The Golden Shot' ('Golden Day') was one of the latter sung by Stephanie De Sykes.
I remember it was a TV Cabaret special, just Lynsey singing her hits and new songs from the Taste me Album... she wore this dress a lot..I loved her and will never forgive my mum for throwing away my Lynsey scrap books...
I remember this very well... I was a big fan at the time. Lynsey did a one off Cabaret show on BBC TV, round about the time of her Taste me Album... the show was great, and she sang live... wonderful memory...thank you
Lynsey released a number of albums "Surprise" (1973), "Taste Me...Don't Waste Me" (1974), "Love Bomb" (1975), "Take Your Time" (1976 but released later), "Tigers and Fireflies" (1979), "Just a Lilttle Time" etc

What a great comment alot of men fell in love with her
I loved watching her in the 70's when i was a teenager.
Genuinely special in several ways.
Classy but friendly.
MY FANTASY when I was young, come to think of it she still is, WHY GET OLD.
I was 14 years old then and so in love with her. So beautiful. RIP.

She used to live around the corner from me. She drove a black Jensen Interceptor, that was back in the 70s How cool eh!?
