Crazy that apparent rumors of his weight at the beginning of the previous season was north of 260lbs! And he still was an allstar, all nba and in MVP talk!
Crazy to think what he can do after being in physical shape and it looks like he added the skyhook in his bag which makes him even more unguardable.
lol, I don't think he added it, he just played with it a couple of possessions for fun in a friendly match.. But hey, why not, the problem for him as far as I'm concerned is he's gonna have to post-up a lot less or even completely remove that from his arsenal and focus on more "in-your-face" kind of game, I guess that would define his role for the better but don't think he's with it up to the NBA standards yet
Luka took a break after the Olympics last year and partied too hard. 😂 There was 2 months off and Luka didn't work out. To think he gained 40 pounds in 2 months! Luckily EuroBasket ends in mid September. Luka will only have 2 weeks to party until training camp. 😂
He's a great finisher at the rim that's what makes his 35% from three sustainable, because he's not dependant on it. He can score in any way.
35% from 3 is 52. 5% from 2. You'll take that over the course of a season all day. If his FTs can improve this season to about 80, he'll truly be unstoppable.
Tbh people that harp on his 3pt % should also mention the kind of shots he pulls up.. Dude does 3pt stepback 35 ft over double team buzzer beater shots. A casual wont mention that of course

Just think of it this way - if this yt channel was able to break down the plays step-by-step, their opponents’ coaching in the play-offs most probably did it as well. What with hours and hours of videotapes and analytics at their fingertips.

Coach, I have suggestion. Please analyze the Atlanta Hawks and their acquisition of Dejounte Murray and how he will benefit to the team.
Ehhh. There's something I noticed about all these clips and it's that they're all against mediocre teams and very early in the game. Basically this offense is very stoppable once Luka isn't making shots.
The play option where he gets the screen and rolls to the paint for a shot or pass to the open man starts getting sealed with a help defender and the ball gets denied down low, then they can only try and win with perimeter shots or backing down their defender and seeing what opens up.

Don't give Kidd too much credit, Luka at 24 already knows more about running an offense than Kidd ever knew. Luka is a very smart guy, I suspect he learned a lot by watching his buddy Jokic dominate thruout the NBA playoffs. As we all know Luka can score pretty much whenever he wants, if he starts being more of a point guard, like Jokic, the Mavs will become instant contenders, especially now with Kyrie's scoring ability ending the nightly double teams Luka used to face.
Mavs need a third ball handler and I would want Dinwiddie off the bench

It is, but he isn't only one. Travel is rarely callled.
There's another one at 0:20. He picks up his dribble, establishes a pivot foot, then picks it up
All the breakdowns came from the regular season. With the exception of Marcus Smart (Boston) getting beat, the other teams ranked between 13 and 26 in Team Defense. These are easy regular season shots agasinst Atlanta, OKC, Orlando, New Orleans, Denver and Indiana. Not the same when up against GSW's very best playoff defense where Wiggins, Looney and Draymond can gang up to diminish Luka's effecitveness.
Running some more sets to get easy shots for Luka will work in the regular season, but it will not work in the playoffs.

Tell the truth they shouldn't of traded kp jay kidd was figuring out how to use him and take some of the load off Luka and judging from kidd calling it a " buisness decision" he didn't like losing him
They got Wood for peanuts, so I think it should be a wash. At the very least Wood will be healthier.

When you look at the roster, you can't expect Kidd to take the ball out of Luka's hands very often.

Luka reminds me at lot of harden in a lot of aspects (rockets James harden) funny how Dallas built a worse version of what the rockets did those years they kept loosing to golden state

Those Rockets teams weakness was Harden melting under pressure, which is something Luka is the total opposite of. He Dallas can get to 80-90% what thoses teams were they can get far
Luka is great but the style of offense that he thrives in will never win a championship , idk if he can fit into an offense where everyone is involved.
I'm not sure I'm following with what you're saying his offense it, but Luka is one of the most team oriented players out there. His ability to get his players open is huge because they never know if he'll pass, shoot or drive. He never struck me as the solo type.
So far he fits to whatever team he is in from europe to NBA, he has also won championships before getting into the NBA. So idk what u are talking about.
Stfu u put Luka on the Celtics instead on Jayson Tatum they win the chip last year. U put Luka on the Suns they win the chip last year. The problem is that Luka doesn’t have a robin that’s literally it nothing wrong with his play style.

I agree , i blame Jason Kidd because he knows that offense won’t win against great teams with good coaching. Luka needs to play in an offense that everyone thrives , he also needs to be better on defense and off the ball. Dallas needs to get him a better second option as well.
True, but it allows them to win the maximum games possible with the roster at hand, I think they need to go back to the 2011 playbook and load up their defense.

This is a one man show.. the rest of the team blows... them catching the Suns running out of gas while they caught lightning in a bottle and hitting everything .. plus the refs helping them out big time.. was beyond lucky.. and them getting schooled by GS shows Im right. I predict next year a second round exit at best.
We know they don't have enough for a Title, just yet. But to say the rest of the team blows is extremely ignorant of you. There's quality role players up and down that roster, and they've improved this off-season.. What they're missing is a star wing that can create his own shot, and provide some defensive value.
