One of the solutions to this is that passengers should not be allowed to use their phones in makng calls or text messages for communication while on a journey . All phones are to be switched off. This is because some passangers could be possibly informants to the bandits to attack travellers on the high ways.

This right, however, states that "all people, regardless of their age, status, ability, or communicative capacity have the right to receive and convey messages, to hold opinions, and express themselves." Protecting this fundamental human right helps to enhance equality, justice, and human dignity.
Unfortunately, this solution or suggestion you ascribed here will only hurt the ordinary citizens (the poor and innocent masses) in the country. Let's take time to put on our thinking cap. Imagine you switched off your phone at the park when the drivers have their phones on and can use it to communicate with "whoever" and "whocares". I don't think that is safe for the passengers either. Also, think about the possibility of several others who can use their private cars to monitor a full-loaded bus from the park down to their destination. Who will order such potential individuals and thousands of other private vehicle owners to switch off their phones as they journey through unsafe zones?
The problem with crime is that people, not objects commit crimes: and as a such, society and its responsible leaders should see to prosecuting criminals, not releasing them all in the name of their tribe, religion, or affinity. If all passengers follow the order by switching off their phones, what medium of communication should they (the victims) use in calling for help when an emergency arises?
Let's think right, reflect on the consequences of our biases and actions, and decide to elect (vote) or select (appoint) the right-thinking individuals into all our leadership (political, business, religious, etc.) space. Lagos -- Ibadan Express way is a long stretch . I think what isn't inappropriate to do is to deploy some combatant Soldiers well equiped to do shift along the road non stop rather than focus on rally . Let the Government take the fight to the bandits along the road and its environ and stop causing a shameful and of course comtemptious affray by disturbing peaceful rallies. It is abhorent. For starters, just like CBN is changing the design of the Naira, the Federal Government must change the design of all uniforms of members of the armed forces. Start in one or two weeks, and close the window of opportunity to exchange the current uniforms for the newly designed ones after 7 days. Anyone seen in the old uniform after that will be seen and treated as a civilian and the legal armed forces and judiciary know what to do. There are companies in Nigeria that can be mobilized to accomplish this goal. Where there's a will, there's a way.
At the same time, as one of the panelists said, mobilize the auxiliary forces like amotekun to beef up security.

The use of military Drones and military motorcycles could go a long way to stop these activities. following the successes the Nigeria Military was recording, I am not surprised the enemy of Nigeria and the Politicians would want to find a way to ensure the insecurity narratives continue, if not why Lagos -Ibadan Expressway which has been peaceful for years. Paying ransom is as a result of the incompetence of our security agencies. So please don’t blame families for paying the ransom. If you were in their shoes, with what’s going on now, you’ll pay. The solution is for our security agencies to do their jobs.
