I picked up a set of the snap on strippers before prices started going up on eBay a few years ago. Love them for the size and versatility. HF is supposed to bringing a set like them out and I intend to get a pair to compare to the snappy ones before gifting the HF pair to a buddy.
No 10% off for us Cali folks 😢 Still a good price for that ratchet IMO $31.80 Carlyle stripper is $33.49. $99.11 for the Knipex Pliers. Cali just expensive for anything.
I have the OTC crimpers. I've had them since 2021, I think bought on a you tube recommendation. Honestly, though, I find the design awkward in use. I keep going back to a set of Kleins 1010s that I find more intuitive. Specifically because the cutters and strippers are in the same place. One motion. Faster. Yeah they are more bulky, but for me they just are more natural to use.: and USA made.
I love that little GW ratchet. Too bad I already have seven 1/4" ratchets in my drawer. Lol And I can second having both types of crimpers. I did a ton of 12V wiring when I was a marine mechanic. And it seems EVERY area in a boat is tight quarters. Some times you ned to crimp in a tight area (above the pivot crimpers) and sometimes you need to strip in a tight area (above the pivot strippers). I always kept both types right by my side at all times. Great vid, Tony!!
Never, EVER buy anything from Vector tools. They are by a huge margin, some of the worst tools I've ever laid hands on. I used to have the OTCs but have since moved to the Snap Ons (Yes, they're actually noticeably nicer). I was almost about to pull the trigger on the 1/4" 120XP, but then I remembered how much I hate GW and how chrome handles hurt my hands XD.
Haha ya huge difference from the snap on to the cheaper ones. Not just the material but the overall design is much better. Ya I don't think I have ever bought from vector but definitely the same as my neiko set. It's definitely worth going with the Carlyle or snap on if you like that design 👍 I believe they have a comfort grip version of the ratchet but I'm sure it's a little bit more
The Snap On wobble plus extensions are a copy of the Koken design.Koken had a patent on this design and the patent ran out, this is when Snap On copied it.Koken was first to come out with the wobble plus design
I've got the Neiko like yours Tony.. my non-insulated nub is rounded..they work well..I used them to re-wire my fuel injector harness to the main harness and they're holding up..
I have several of the carlye I can highly recommend them. They go on sale quite frequently for $12
Ya that's a great deal!!!
They show them as $25.. but online they're $36.. at checkout they're $36-$37..
The sales are in store flyers.
@@mumbles1justin figured that had to be..
I've got a Napa like 2 blocks away...👍
Cool. I'm always looking for the next useful set of electrical pliers. I'll probably grab the NAPA ones.
I think that's the best deal on those for sure 👍

Great price on that gearwrench 120xp 1/4
Agreed 👍
Tony, Did you see that Carlyle has a locking breaker bar in 3/8 and 1/2 Dr. Odd but they have them.

Nothing wrong with that. Everyone has a preference. I appreciate you sharing 👍

Haha I feel you about the ratchets 🤣👍
And ya I completely 100% agree about having the different types of crimpers!!
Why only 7?

👍
Wish the 3/8 120xp flexhead was as competitively priced as the 1/4 for $10-15 more
Ya same here. That would be nice bc that's the one I want if the price was a little better
Teeth on Knipex pliers are second to none and that is most apparent on the Twin Grips IMHO. I don't know anyone who has A wire stripper.
Hello again, Tony
Thank you for another Great Video 👍
Thank you!!! 👍
Is that really an 8 pack for that ratchet for $30?

Very nice. Lucky!! Mine is like a razor sharp square. I must have got unlucky
Fun fact, a 3/8 drive 3 inch Wobble-Plus extension from Snap On is $37.50
A copy of the Koken design too.Koken came out with that design first. There was a patent on it and Snap On copied it after the patent ran out
How small is the head on that GW vs. the 1/4” Tekton?
