The book says "The average time to complete a lesson is 30-35 minutes. This includes time to teach the lesson, complete the practice and review, and practice multiplication facts." (But of course, it depends on the child)
The Good and the Beautiful uses a spiral approach in which they are constantly reviewing things taught previously, that review looks like (and is) busy work for kiddos who have mastered the concepts. However, it's very beneficial for those who still need more practice.
Here's what I do with my kiddos: if they have mastered a concept, I don't worry about having them do a lot of review work. Instead, when I'm done teaching the lesson, I look over the lesson practice & review work crossing out what they don't need to do, before turning it over to them to complete their independent work for the day. Depending on their level of mastery I will skip sections entirely, have them do just 1 or 2 of the problems, or check in every few lessons.
      I hope this helps 💓
