I don't think that "Quit jacking off on the track" bar was random. I believe it refers directly to how Jack was only rapping about himself in his first verse. Self congratulatory, self pleasure, etc.. Plus his name is Jack. Jack, jacking off...

This is one of my favorite ERB battles. EpicLloyd didn't blink once through his entire run. Plus, keeping Lector to his roots as a psychologist as he quickly analyzed Jack was a nice little bonus. Jack spent the first round glorifying himself and didn't take any potshots at Lector. By the time Jack finally got serious about the battle, Lector had already gotten out the RPG and fired it off. The rest of his verses, Lector was just playing with the remains.
honestly, in this battle Dan has one of the best flow morph i have ever heard ever and he has an excellent cadence combined with it too i mean yo "an infamous notorious delinquent, there's little more gory thing than, living in victorian england" that flow morph is just hardcore
He got the name Jack because those days "John Doe" or "Jane Doe" for unknown individuals didn't exist. In victorian England an unknown individual was a "Jack". And "Ripper" because he would rip his victims to shreds. Therefore the media (newspapers) called him Jack the Ripper.
Most definitely that's what I heard the first time I ever watched this video when it came out because he was saying that he needs to start rapping and stop gloating
2:10 + I want to thank you for being the only reaction author on the face of EARTH to NOT discredit Jack the Ripper just because he didnt start with a senseless shower of disses. I agree there is hardly any point in just dissing your enemy without first building your own base - So you lower your enemy in the view of others by using pure disses, but others will compare both, and then where do you stand? Flexes are half of the battle (It is a "RAP" battle after all, not just a "Battle", and Dan´s RAP was insane on verse 1)
def give this to Hannibal. I love when he pulls Jack up on his rap, critiquing it and really showing everyone who’s the better rapper. like Hannibal says, “I hate that you’re sloppy”.
I mean it is technically true he didn't come up with the nickname on his own, was created by the tabloid esque newspapers of the time. However also he was never caught or correctly identified (by the time the case was closed out they had several lead suspects, but were never able to get enough evidence together to arrest or put on trial any of them) so since he remains unknown he technically could have been one of the writers in those papers and made his own nickname, unlikely though that is.
I just noticed this right now so I figured I need to say something "Jack the Ripper, Jack the Rapper, Following you well before the dawn of twitter" obviously the double following/following bar with following (stalking) and following (like on twitter) but also Jack the Rapper may also be referring to Jack Dorsey the guy who made twitter.
You need to do those creepy story channels. Or just any story really. You have far surpassed Morgan freeman and Anthony Hopkins in melodic, soothing voices. I could listen to you read a computer manual in freaking German and still be simultaneously relaxed and turned on lol
Loyd does such an amazing job as Hannibal here. I mean he always does. He embodies every role, but he was so perfectly creepy in this one. He’s so much better than like 99% of actors I see today. He confirms to every roll abs just becomes that person. It’s a beautiful thing to watch.
Yes the term Jack the Ripper was coined by the newspaper I believe as a way to identify him. They don’t know who he was but believe he may have had a medical background due to the preciseness of his cuts. Or at least that’s what I remember.
I believe the name comes from a series of letters sent to the newspapers, whether they were actually written by the killer is debatable and some people believe they were fabricated by journalists.
The Jack the Ripper name was given through media of the time after several letters came claiming responsibility for the murders were signed with said name. However, there was one letter believed to be real, it was signed “From Hell”, and included half a human liver, which the letter mentioned he’d eaten the other half.

Man, if this is your first look at that (I would imagine it's not; but I never have enough good to say about ERB), you need to look at some others as well. Pennywise vs Joker is a good one. They're basically all fanfuckingtastic, though. Literally my all time favorite channel.
Dan Bull, Jack the Ripper, following in Chuck Norris footsteps and showing that you "could* win a rap batttle with more flexes than disses. Too bad he was vain and fell for Lecter´s provocation - Had he ignored Lecter, and kept raping only about himself on verse 2, A - i would have given him the victory and B - I would have laughed my ass off so hard because Hannibal would have been left with nothing to talk about on his own verse 2
I mean, nicknames are given by others. You don’t come up with your own. But the I’m Real part won it. Even tho Hannibal is fictional he still got caught and the real Jack never got caught
They didn't have the type of investigative equipment during Jack's time that they had in Hannibal's. So of course Jack would be a lot harder to find, back then they didn't even know to use or even could use fingerprints so Jack saying he never got caught was only because of the time frame he lived in the police were also a bit incompetent.
That’s not true. There have been a few killers in history that have made up names for themselves, the zodiac killer being the most prominent one. And I mean yeah, the murders done by “jack the ripper” were real, but Jack the Ripper themselves may as well be fictional because there’s still no concrete explanation of their identity to this day. We still don’t know if it was a man, a woman, a group of people, how old they were, if they were even English, hell we can’t even say for certain that it wasn’t an alien. There’s not a single solid evidence that pinpoints the possible identity of Jack the Ripper. So the “I’m real” line hardly wins the battle. Yeah Hannibal is a fictional character, but if he was real, he’d easily be a far superior and more scary killer compared to Jack the Ripper. And just with this battle alone Hannibal actually throws meaningful shots at Jack while the only shots Jack really had on Hannibal was the I’m real and I’ve never been caught lines. Which again, the I’m real line doesn’t hit as hard as some people think, and even the I’ve never been caught line doesn’t hit that hard. Because Hannibal ultimately escaped and caused havoc even when he was incarcerated in the movies/books. So all in all you have the right to your opinion of course, but I still think it’s a reach to say Jack won the rap battle. Hannibal pretty much slaughtered him IMO.
did you see all of the Freshy Kanal battles? cuz their Hannibal vs. Leatherface was good. my favorite line being "livin' high class lifestyle, white meat privilege."
Hard to judge when it's a fictional character vs someone who really existed...anyone can make up the scariest villian in all of history in their mind and write it on a page ...Just sayin...Yeah Hannibal is scary...but he did NONE of those things...Jack did...so who has credibility? And the press and rumours usually dub the names of serial killers NEVER has the serial killer called themselves 'the nickname' even Hannibal the Cannibal in the books was what the Sanitorium called him...anyways..food for thought..it's all in good fun...like that warrior show...love from Canada!
You miss the point. The point of a battle rap, or any lyrical battle (poems, rap, rock, etc.) isn't who is real and who is fictional, it is who had the most/best insults that are based on truths about their opponent with some bragging thrown in. With a real historical figure it would be all about what is historically known about them, with a fictional character it is what is official cannon of their story. In this battle I have to give the win to Hannibal even though I liked Jacks flow better, Hannibals lines hit harder.
Hannibal won this battle rap. But Jack the ripper is fsr more terrifying with the few facts that he was indeed real and never got caught and his id hasn't been figured out to this day.
Yes it's true. Nobody knows who jack the ripper was. It was a coined title in newspapers to spike attraction saying things such as jack the ripper strikes again
And also the fake letters to Scotland Yard were signed "Jack the Ripper" and they ran with the name even after they were confirmed to be faked when the legit letter came in signed "From Hell"
@@usdutchkitty some medical students played a prank by sending in a human kidney to the police since the latest victims kidney had been removed. It's crazy!
regarding the thing about his name, there was a couple of letters among hundreds that was sent to the police where someone called themselves saucy jack, and Jack the Ripper, and if i remember correct some letters just said. ''yours truly, Jack'' if remember correct the London papers back then eventually got whiff of these ''jack'' nicknames and decided to publish the name. JACK THE RIPPER but there was never evidence that these letters given how differently they were written and spelled they were, were actually from the actual killer, he did however adopt the name after the name had been published in the papers, and so the letters started to all be signed by Jack the ripper, but with no evidence of the first nicknames ever being the killers own idea for an nickname.
There was one letter they considered real, it was signed “From Hell”, and included half a human liver, which the letter mentioned he’d eaten the other half.
And this is why Jack the Ripper may as well be a fictional character. No one knows how many of those letters were real or if they were just pranks done by other people at the time and if they are real it just strengthens the theory that Jack the Ripper was likely a group of people instead of just one person.
