Of course the song is great and glad to hear it, 💜The Replacements, but Fred, and his owner Jon, are the real deal. No where in the Twin Cities, the midwest, perhaps all of America, will you find a man so in love with music and his local music scene. Also have to mention, Jon is one of the best stylists, haircutters, whatever you want to call it, I have ever had the pleasure of sitting for. I only lived in St. Paul for a year and never got my hair cut anywhere else but HiFi Hair. If you love music, want to look like a rockstar (many get their hairs cut here), have great conversation and meet a wonderful, real guy, this is the only place in Minneapolis to go. Love ya Jonny...rock on🤘
This is wonderful! I was a late bloomer when it came to punk music and only discovered The Replacements a few years back. To learn that they're from my beloved city via this homage was amazing! Love the band, love the music, SUPER LOVE the video!! 💚
The apartment in the Modesto was my place for 5/6 years!all the dudes got kicked out so as rock chicks we rented the place and let all of our friends party harder than ever dude did!!!! 8 AMand the Modesto Girls would be pounding screwdrivers and shooting coke! Great times. .. .
They opened with this when I saw them in 2013 (Riot Fest, Chicago) Miserable & cold day … worth it though. I’d like to see them put it together at least one more time before it’s over.
Ahhhh - Minneapolis in the 80’s - what a time and what a place…….!!!!!! Wish I could go back and work on my tan all day at Calhoun - then head out to the bars and chase tail in the evening……..👍
Great times.....I'm going to be 60 years old this year....you HAD to be there....lived at the Modesto Apartments......👍😻 After the dudes were kicked out a bunch of us girls moved in ... WITH THE DUDES THAT GOT KICKED OUT ALWAYS ABOUT! Fkng INSANE times- The Modesto Girls: Sarah H., Trish R., 17 year old Ellen , Barrie Kay from OKC ....CRAZY!!!!
I've been kind of obsessing over The Replacements during the pandemic and finished reading both books, so this video was a great visualizer of The Mats' early days!
My favourite punkish band ever and one of my favourite bands period. Discovered them many years ago but still after their main event years and wished I’d known of them earlier. Strangely enough I probably wouldnt have ‘got them’ then as I was probably up the Yes album arse then ( cool bit in the video). They’re really just a cooler version of the Rolling Stones in my opinion and that’s no bad thing.
is it a '64 Catalina? Smooth whip. Was looking for Duffy's, Uptown Bar, Liquor Lyle's, Dania Hall, you can't go back again- but you can drive by. CC is still there, drop by- bring dogs!! Ü♫
The Yes album, in this case literally "The Yes album," is a nod to Bob Stinson who was a huge Steve Howe fan. The guy at the counter is Steve McClellan, who ran and booked First Ave from 1978-2006 and the customer is Kevin Cole, longtime First Ave DJ and now the program director at KEXP in Seattle. The record store they're in is HiFi Hair and Records, owned by Jon Clifford, the guy with the dog and the sweet Pontiac ride. Many, many other Easter eggs in the video, including cameos from Paul and Tommy's sisters and Tommy's mom.
(@3:26): I know that it very likely isn't, but I swear that that house in the background of this shot looks like what I remember my late maternal grandparents' old house on the 3800-block of Oakland Ave. S. looked like!
Anybody else remember hanging out at Garage D’or, and Bob Stinson & Grant Hart bullshitting together at the front counter??? Mould’s Flying V on display above the bathroom/basement stairs. Man I miss Garage D’or……
Jonny and Fred driving around in Dottie!
This is fantastic 😎🥰😎🥰😎

Cait, Come to Minneapolis and we’ll take you for this ride! 💖
Cause we’re getting old?
That is my apartment at the Modesto I had for 6 years!!! WOW! APARTMENT #1 1985-1991! The CC was my living room!!!
WOW! As a lifelong fan and a former Minneapolis resident, I loved this video. Wish my cousin was around still to see it.

An uptown weekend tradition ;)
All those landmarks! I lived there in the 80's and it brings back some great memories. Some great cameos in there too

A love letter to my city! Love me some Mats.

*Minneapolis approves of this message*
Oar Folk, the CC club, the Entry...loved those years!!!
Two out of three are still around and haven't changed, so not bad!
I know Westerberg would hate me for saying this but I still think Sorry Ma is their best album -- or at least my favorite
My city, my dear friends! 💖
Great map for when I eventually make my pilgrimage to Minneapolis
Being from Minnesota, I love seeing all these places. I've been to most of these spots. Great video to a great song.
It's great they put some of the easter eggs IN the video. And other ones that you've gotta go back and pause for. What a RIDE!!
Music starts at 0:48
A-MA-ZING video. Seriously.
Mary Lucia - local radio host on The Current, and Paul's sister - yelling as he drives by. lol
Revolution Radio! Memories sometimes hurt.

Love this video, tons of history! And one of the best Mats songs.
A Replacements video with a Dog? Winner!
Brilliant idea! Funk yeah! This is awesome.
As somebody who has a copy of “The Yes Album” buried somewhere deep in my closet, I just gotta’ say “Sorry Ma” KICKS ITS ASS!

You almost made me cry.
These videos are awesome. Hope one for Hangin’ Downtown is coming
This is really charming. Is it part of a project of making new videos for Replacements classics? Hope so.
Is that Steve McClellan in the Twintone cap?
Love this!
Kinda bummed to see the fucking condos right across from the CC Club, cool to see the Modesto where I lived in the early 90s
