Good to the point video BUT you should always check spark plug gap before installing. All it takes is a drop on the snout to bend the center electrode. IIRC, SRM-225 gap spec is .026 inch. Double check your manual.
This is a very good video although I agree with Victor below me that you should check the spark plug gap to around .025 and also replace the fuel bulb at the same time. But that involves using a mm Allen wrench and loosing the two carburetor mounting screws which were right in front of the air filter. You just have to loosen them enough to get one of the screws off of the bulb.
So I just replaced the carburetor on mine, spark plug, fuel filter, air filter and I'm still having trouble with keeping it running or even getting it to start. Any recommendations?? Hope to hear back
@@MichaelTheakston seems to have good compression. I dont have a compression tester so I cant check how much psi unless I went and bought one. Thanks for the reply and advice
Theakston i just bought both filters and a spark plug. i think i should probably clean the spark arrestor screen? i don’t want to take it to a shop it seems pretty straight forward and your video is a major help! i appreciate you sharing your knowledge! i subbed! 🍻

You are the man. I can tune up mine now. I appreciate you.
Thank you bro👍🏻
Do you know about the hidden carburetor screws to actually tune it?
Yeah, there is very little adjustability though.
1:54 is something that would happen to me lol😂
what size to remove spark plug??

if the plug looks like crap wouldn't the spark arrestor be about the same? at least need cleaning?
Yes, I actually pull the spark arrestor on all my equipment, it gets gummed up and restricts flow which bugs the motor
Great trimmer
Don't forget to clean the spark arrestor screen.

Never had a problem with my SR-225. I cut a few lawns in the summer for extra $$. Tt's a great trimmer... just a tad under powered for thick grass.
