Hi...nice review of the album...had fun to listen to you....I have heard the album several times now and I think it is great..Some said that the mix is not good...but now hearing it vinyl or Cd on my stereo system I think it is good. You said some songs on the album are not metal...thats true....they are simply Nightwish as they compose and play now....for me personally that is ok...for some of the others not ...I love Hiraeth and The Weave....and get wet eyes also hearing Lanternlight. Loving all the albums my favourite albums were Once and DPP....but now for almost a Decade Endless Forms is my most heard album....I like Troy singing the slow and folky songs...but for example on The Antikythera Mechanism I wish they had Marco for guest vocals....😉
Thank you for commenting! I have also kept listening to Yesterwynde more and it gets better and better everytime. I don't mind non-metal parts in the songs either anymore. I'm glad that I have learned to listen to different kinds of music, even though rock and metal will always be my favorite genres. Combining different genres also makes music very interesting. Now that you mentioned Troy, I have to admit that I like his voice and the folky parts in NW too. First I also thought that there's a problem with the mix of Yesterwynde but I think the problem is in my headphones. They make all kinds of music sound a bit darker. Fortunately I have other better equipment for listening at home. Oh, Endless Forms is also one of my favorite albums from Nightwish too!
@@susannasrockandmetallife That is fine...I dont wanna miss Rock and Metal also...so if I want it heavy there is plenty of other bands...but love Nightwish for the great mixtur of compositions and emotions ...have a nice day or evening...
@@papa6036 same here! And we are very lucky to have so many great rock and metal bands out there that need to be heard. I've been thinking about introducing some newer bands on this channel too when I discover them.
The false endings! Yep, I love that, it catches us out, keeping our interest. Bits of Floors own solo album and Northward style singing! Cinematic drama, doom and gloom, heavy, then folky campfire, lullaby. They definitely do flow from song to song. Tuomas déjà vu themes. Did you catch the shout-outs? [Yes!] Tuomas makes you look things up, the best way to learn. The Antikythera Mechanism... Anti-kith-era, a Greek island, where they found what is considered as an early clockwork computer!
Thanks for your comment! I actually haven't heard Floor's solo material, but I have always thought that she is a very diverse singer, which is amazing! The Antikythera Mechanism sounds so fascinating, that I really need to take a closer look at it. It really is possible to learn new things buy listening to music 😃
La verdad es que no me esperaba un buen álbum siendo sincero. Pero es mejor de lo esperado para mí, aunque lejano de las cotas de genialidad y originalidad de sus primeros discos. No obstante tengo que seguir escuchandolo ya que sólo lo he escuchado unas 5 ó 6 veces y un disco de Nightwish tiene siempre muchos matices y sonidos que se escapan a las primeras escuchas, como sucede con otros artistas como Iron Maiden o Dream Theater. Por eso precisamente son tan especiales, por esas cosas, por esos fragmentos que vas descubriendo con el tiempo. Un saludo
Saludos! Sí, este álbum es muy desafiante. Me gustó mucho el primer sencillo Perfume of the Timeless, pero los otros sencillos (especialmente The Day Of) no me entusiasmaron demasiado. Como dije en el video, no es mi álbum favorito, pero tampoco es el peor. ¡Espero que te guste más el álbum después de escucharlo unas cuantas veces!
