Im 100% with you on this, the niki is rubish but a lot of mower shops only sell the niki design.
Great info, and yes I swapped my niki out for a walbro after market a few weeks back.. great vid man.. 👍
Thanks for watching!!
I like to install the shut off valve before the filter to the carb. Great video.
Never hurts. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your always rich content!
Thanks for watching and for your words of support!
Thank you for this video good information .
I also turned off my fuel and run it dry but later when I started up again the O-rings leaked and fuel dripped in the carburetor throat and it was flooded .
I had to wait four hours for the fuel to swell the orings and make them seal again . so you really can’t run it dry .
It happens so often I see it 5 to 10 times every week! Thanks for watching!
As always, a ton of great info. Question, if a 2 cycle fuel line shrinks and lets air in, would that cause bad running issues? Thanks
Thanks for watching! It is basically an air leak and will give sporadic running like air leaks do in most cases.
Thank you for information and advice
Need the walbru part number please
I can jet it if needed and I’m old diesel mechanic and retired
Yes sir hope you got my other message
Good video thank you. I cant find a 594593 carburetor for $28 dollars though. Hell i cant find one for twice that. Do you have a source you could share please.
We use a distributor but you can purchase on Amazon at amzn.to/47YNKGq
Hello! Bought a used Troy Bilt Pony 15.5 hp riding lawnmower. I've replaced the Nikki with a new OEM B&S Walbro carb, however the solenoid wires don't fit into the connection port. Thoughts? Can I put the solenoid from the Nikki onto the Walbro or what's the correct fix?
That is strange, they should both be the same what was the original?
Are you using hipi replacements carbs ???? I’ve had good luck with them so far
I have used them before, seem a little better quality controlled but still have seen quality issues like with every other company out there including OEM
Is there a crossover list to get the correct walbro replacement carb? I have a single cyl 21hp briggs motor with the nikki carb.
Carburetor listed in description is what you need. Should need no modifications to run perfectly
thanks for the video, information on point! your was better in many ways
car desc leaded me to the same on amazon for 28
swapping the choke plate.. other vids told people to mod/grind the intake manifold to clear
my mower is now running the best it ever had.... BUT unfortunately it didnt fix my issue. with the blade engaged and leaning to the right it sputters to stall doesnt happen when level or on the same grade leaning left.
Sounds like an issue with the pickup tube in the tank to me
@@IndRepair ok ill google that.. but it works fine at that angle with the blade disengaged
Did you get this figured out?
I have a troy built with a nikki carburetor the only thing plastic in the bowl is the float believe it is a nikki 5 carburetor
Have engine information model and type by chance? Never seen one like you are describing
19 hp kohler engine 2017 engine number 4713041213 says sv591-3220
Why can't I find a video for putting a Walboro on a Kohler Courage?
Good questions, should be a video out there somewhere hmm
I know this is a little late but could you elaborate at 6:07 "snipping it off"? I don't understand because my Nikki doesn't have a solenoid fuel shut off. Just snip off the plunger rod? Thanks in advance.
Correct
@@IndRepair Thanks!!
I hate the throttle control unit on the bs single cylinder engine with the white plastic hole for zee cable throttle
Just with age they break all the time
Is the plastic peace replaceable and part number ???😊
Thanks Again
No, have to replace the throttle shaft to get it. They are different part numbers depending on Nikki or Walbro carbs
When you say "Walbro style carb" do you mean it is okay to get an aftermarket Walbro imitiation carb? Thank you.
Correct
@@IndRepair thank you sir for the prompt Reply and thank you for this video. While not Nikki probs yet, I do have one on my Intek powered Crapsman.
The carb link to Amz is a Nimtek not Walbro. Where can I find the proper carb?? Thank you!
This is a Walbro style carburetor nimtek is just an aftermarket. The OEM can be found at amzn.to/3JNYTju
After two NIKKI carbs on my Husqvarna GT51XLSI, I am absolutely done with NIKKI carbs! As you indicated, these carbs have a ridiculously complex and unreliable design. When it comes to mechanical devices, simpler generally means more reliable. I run the mower on ethanol free fuel, drain the fuel system, run the carb dry, and then run TruFuel through the carb to store the engine each winter. All of that effort has done nothing to ensure reliability. Surging and lack of slow speed idle are a way of life with these carbs. I have 18 and 13 year old Honda and Kohler engines with much simpler carburetor designs which run flawlessly ... even when using fuel containing ethanol. I believe that the recommended carb replacement shown in this video is for single cylinder Briggs engines. My mower is equipped with a Briggs 24HP 2-cylinder engine (Model 44N877, Type 000G1, Code 151028YG) fed by a single barrel NIKKI carb ... looks very much like that in the video. Can you suggest a Walbro or clone carburetor to replace the NIKKI carb on this engine?
The aftermarket replacements for this are junk no walbro I have yet found but I'm sure something could be converted I will update when I find it
Would you mind giving the carb number to replacement #
Generator needs new carb for
594593 is the part number for the carburetor
I'm trying to find a Walbro style carburetor to replace a Nikki carb on a 21hp B&S I/C vtwin. The engine model # is 4045A7 and the Nikki that is on there is BS-699807. It is set up different than the ones I have seen on here.
I have looked with no luck or part replacement to give you. Sorry I can't help on this one!
@@IndRepair I appreciate it man.
Hi, great info. Carburetor 594593 replaces 791888, now the carburetor parts list states this carburetor is for (gravity feed)? my engine has a fuel pump, Briggs 15.5 hp I/C OHV Model 282H07 0110 EI 030416ZA. Is carburetor no- 594593 correct for my machine?
This carburetor will work well even with a fuel pump
@@IndRepair Thanks for your answer.
@@IndRepairwhat about part number 594605? That one is supposed to be for 17hp and up. Would that make a 15.5 HP make a little more power?
@@mhess427 You would possibly need to change the jet size but it would definitely work
@@IndRepair thank you. Maybe to be safe, I will stick with 594-593.
I’m struggling with a nikki carb right now.
Its a 9.5hp B&Stratton on a craftsman snowblower.
Would you have a part number for a walbro replacement carb without the shutoff solenoid?
The craftsman manual says the carb part number is 696737 but the carb has 695786 on it. Help!!!
Have the engine number by chance? I am sure I can find a replacement that will work in some way for you. Many times stamped into the side of the valve cover on those engines
Just found the engine model # today. Its not stamped on it anywhere. Its on a sticker on the valve cover-wow!!!
Briggs & Stratton engine model 20A114-0363-E1.
Appreciate the help!!!
@walleyeye The only style we actually replace with the same style. Nothing else available that I know of. These replacements are better not the same style internals if I remember correct. amzn.to/46GPiE4 Thanks for watching!
The carb on amazon that you linked is not for briggs 594593.
It is the replacement that works great for that part number. It is for this machine, that part number and replaces many other part numbers. Thanks for watching!
I have Nikki 697203 and can’t find the walbro that you talking about can you help me find it can you provide a link thank you
Use a 594605 on your mower. Make sure it does not have two bolts holding the bowl on, just the solenoid holds the bowl on
Thank you for taking your time to help me
Glad to help! Thanks for watching!
I'm looking for a Walbro style carburetor to replace a Nikki carb on my lawn mower. The engine model #215707-0604-B2 and the Nikki carb is BS-593432. Do you have an idea where to find a match Walbro style model #? Thanks!
There is nothing that is a direct match. If it were me I would replace it with a 594605 like we do at ua-cam.com/video/Wu5T8B8UBww/v-deo.html If the jets are the same size you will not have to re-jet it
@@IndRepair Good Idea, thank you! I will try it when the time come next summer!
Awesome!
What is replcarb item
Not sure what you are asking?
That cheap carb fuel line gets hard as a rock and leaks everywhere lolol
Maybe for vacuum ???
Yeah, never use that garbage for anything! I wouldn't even use it for vacuum myself. How someone hasn't stopped putting this stuff in kits is beyond me but I guess it probably doesn't cost much!!
Should be free just to trash it 😊
Best to swap it out before you burn up the engine 😊
Definitely!
So your customer pays more if you have to clean the carb, but Thay have to pay more to buy a new carb,
WOW.
Not sure what you are saying
What the hell is he saying ? Like it should be free ?? Nuts 🥜
@@philliphall5198 Haha I am not sure couldn't wrap my head around that one
Yeah I got Britain's threatening how to add a backfire sensor and eliminated that I don't use that anymore because they're paying a butt so I eliminated it so I don't use that anymore
Thanks for watching!
I just hate Nikki carbs. Total junk. I'm replacing yet another one with a Walbro right now.
We do 3 or 4 a week most of the time. Worst design ever!!
Where do you get yours? In which part numbers do you like?
Funny how he does all these great improvements and then puts the shittiest fuel filter on it *shrug*
Is kind of ironic 🤔 very good point
