Doing another comment but TVT things being vegan will solve anything like Peta saying being vegan saves more water. Yet as a meat eater there is very small evidence to back this. In reality the world will probably suffer more with being over population of animals, animals in captivate will he put to sleep.
Cattle do drink a lot of water, though. A horse drinks an average of 15-20 gallons per day; now imagine a herd of 20,000 head of cattle drinking anywhere from 20-30 gallons per day. It does add up pretty quickly. Still doesn't mean I'm going vegan, though. I have no intention or desire to cut meat, dairy, or eggs out of my diet.
There's also the issue with going fully vegan for the majority of the population. Using the US as an example, there's an estimated 350 million people here; if only 1-2% of the population are vegan, that's roughly 3.5 to 7 million people. That's pretty sustainable when you think of it. Now, if ALL 350 million went purely vegan and we cut animal products out of our lifestyles entirely, we can't sustain that.
A lot of vegans will bring up the fact that cattle utilize more crops than humans do, and that's true; but they're not considering how much land you need to use for crop growth. The thousands of acres those ranchers in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah used for their cattle are not suitable for growing crops, and the places that are suitable will need to be irrigated and cultivated immensely to provide viable land. You also have to consider field rotations; you can't just use the same plot every season, you need to give the ground time to furrow and restore nutrients back into the soil. Ranchers do the same thing with their cattle every season, by rotating them from pasture to pasture. If you have a 5-acre plot for crops, you need about 20 acres in total for it all to work and to keep your crops healthy and plentiful. It would take up the same amount of land, if not more, just to sustain a full vegan population.
TL;DR: Making the whole population vegan is not a viable option when you actually sit down and educate yourself on the matter. Plus it means some breeds of cattle, sheep, and pig will eventually die out because they no longer serve a purpose, so we'll stop breeding them and start culling them to keep their numbers in check.
Honestly I'm not surprised that she supports PETA. She's not vegan because of any genuine love of animals, she uses veganism as an outlet for her abuse. She' shown us her true face time and time again from saying that cats that can't be put on a vegan diet should be Euthanised, (not something an animal lover would say or do) to putting her own dog on a vegan diet. (Also not something an animal lover would do). Heck its not even something a responsible pet owner would do. As a pet owner it's your responsibility to make sure your pet is happy and healthy and if your pet needs meat to be healthy then Veganism be damned! By meat so your pet THE ANIMAL YOU CLAIM TO LOVE isn't suffering. So not surprised that she's join PETA, the organisation known for mistreating and killing animals. Seems like a match made in Heavan.
