Am using Honda jazz MT VX for past 5 years. Most premium Spacious Hatchback. Very very low engine sound and vibrations. One and only con is No heavy torque in hilly areas. Very very underrated car. Honda service (ahhh) not worthy nowadays in Capital Honda Chennai. My top speed is 170+ in Vellore - Krishnagiri road. I get milage 17+ in daily office use(@60-100kmhr max) I bought it for 8.95 Lakhs. My child hood dream car.

@@elangovanrk8588 I bought zx CVT at June , long drive from Chennai to dindigul got 8kmpl but I drove at 120 kmph and driving back to channai at 90 to 100 I got 18kmpl , within city its agian I got 15 kmpl it's good . One unbelievable exp I got Is in mall parking in a slope ramp I fear about CVT but Its going like a spider it is climbing almost all slopes easily and I tried leaving my foot in accelerator at slope for 2-5 sec it not going back it holding the place and giving time for us to use break and driving at highway it's great you and your passengers never feel tired even after Long distance since you never feel any body roll. I start to love ❤️ my jazz a lot.

Very detailed review, I own Jazz 2016.. very comfortable drive, I enjoy driving in Highways. More than me my family co passgers are feeling very comfortable and they enjoy the ride... I would like to highlight a point in the video 9:32 ABC part if you notice the floor mat is under accelator pad.. while we are pressing, it hits the pad and it will reduce the initial pickup...when I removed it I got good pickup...this I learnt from well experienced service technician 👍..may be it will help others so I thought of sharing this here.
Proud owner of Jazz VX CVT. 4 year now with the car and I will never look back at the choice made then. Gives 11-12 kmpl in peak chennai traffic. 15-18kmpl on highways depending on how you drive. This car can seat 3 full adults at the back. No other car I test drove then was giving me this luxury. Baleno came close. City yes. But in the budget that I was looking 10L in 2019 for a spacious petrol automatic, Jazz was probably the best choice. 2 services a year is now changed to 1. And it comes around 8-10K, if I strictly adhere to the manual and remove additional unwanted charges added by the service center.
We have a Honda Jazz CVT since 6 years. I would call it as a mini Toyota Innova. Space & Comfort are ultimate. Family members are very happy about the storage & utility space. You will enjoy the driving both inside city and on the highways. Thus Jazz is a pleasant car which many people won't understand unless they own it.
Great video brother. I’ll tell u my story.. in 2015 I decided to buy my first car, back then did not know much abt cars, always used to like cars based on looks. So naturally I chose polo.. visited the showroom.. all went well. My frnd said not to buy 3 cylinder petrol as it was underpowered.. also the back seat was cramped.. so I had no other option in mind.. then came new jazz.. It happened all so quick.. one afternoon I visited the showroom to witness jazz in person. First look I fell for it.. back then they had orange coloured jazz.. price was also little more than polo. I went ahead booked. 1.2 manual V MT.. butter smooth ivtec was the biggest plus.. so many highway trips fully loaded with people as well as boot.. but the performance used to be top class.. I used it more than I expected I clocked 80k kms.. last yr.. not even a single problem I faced.. just regular service.. no major parts changed.. I was a light foot driver.. my mileage even in bumper to bumper traffic never got a single digit mileage. Used to get an avg of 12kmpl in city.. highways even last yr, I got 18kmpl.. then I sold my car, as I wanted an automatic.. so naturally chose its big brother CITY 5G cvt. Close your eyes and go for Honda cars!!
Awesome review. Own the Jazz VX CVT version. Absolutely no fuss car. Super luxurious ride and space all around for well built people. High quality interiors and fit and finish. 4 STAR rating for the India Spec. #1 in Moose test providing super safe rides. Slightly underpowered for spirited highway ride but that is not a big deal for regular family audience.
the slight underpowered feeling is due to the tuning of the engine suzuki 1.2 has similar specs as honda 1.2 Engines, but they don't feel underpowered suzuki tuned for good low end.. changing air filter to k&n will solve honda 1.2 problem
@Akhil Ghosh know a owner who uses k&n filter in his amaze vtec 1.2 better pickup, better acceleration/0-100 and better fuel efficiency so far no problems
@@Moonlight-hq3gi The Baleno is more than 120kgs ~15% lighter than Jazz due to the Hearttect platform (read lighter sheet metals). That is the main reason for better power to weight ratio and consequent drivability of Baleno over Jazz.
@venbas2 yeah agreed that baleno is lighter but suzuki 1.2 has better tuning, the power and torque figures come in way earlier rpm than honda 1.2 it's tuned for the low end honda 1.2 is better in mid and top end
A 2016 Jazz idtec owner here..currently doing 1,30,000 Km on odo single handedly. a very good practical car and a punchy diesel engine that's also very very frugal. Very reliable. Everything works. Just needs periodical maintenance and change of tyres and brake pads and discs if required. Cons : Poor NVH When compared to rival diesels. Current 1.2 Petrol is smooth. But, very sluggish and offers inadequate performance. Ground clearance might be an issue in non standard speed breakers. ( But,throughout my 1.2L km, my car has scrapped underbody several times in non standard speed breakers. But, the suspension setup or the exhaust hasn't been hit or damaged)

Added OEM alloys of Amaze since the tyre size that came along the variant was 14" for 35k extra and I added a cheap 2 DIN stereo reciever,4 speakers and an amplifier. The audio setup isn't that exciting to listen. I just installed it to pick up calls. I don't even use it to answer calls now. Honda service (General) is typically costlier than Suzuki/Hyundai/Kia. Slightly I'd say in their respective categories. Parts rate is in par with Hyundai/Kia. Regarding Fuel Efficiency, it returns 20kmpl in the highway if I keep it at 110-120 kmph. It'll return more if I drive more sedately. In city, it'll return 17kmpl even if abused. I'd say I'm getting an overall FE of 18-19 kmpl as of now. When it was new, I'd get 1-2 km/l extra. But, thr engine is just as good as it used to be. Essential parts are handy with service centers. Clutch assembly, Brake kits are always in stock. Honda can do general service nicely and not so great at finding electrical problems if I run into. (That's what the case with my dealership). Honda typically runs fine and my car is pretty reliable. So, it's not a big worry. Please feel free to ask questions if you have any more.

Sir....you are correct about jazz......but generally honda doesn't provide basic features like Rear seat adjustable head rest, Rear arm rest and rear ac vents (in premium hatchback product like jazz, WRV)....otherwise the scored maximum in rear seat legroom space..... thanks to you and your group for this episode sir
I own a Honda Jazz i-dtec diesel, it is the best investment i have done considering that i am 6.2 and well built. The Plus 1) Very spacious - People of my size can easily sit at the back of me comfortably, doesnt make you feel claustrophobic due to bigger windows and ample visibility 2) Driving Pleasure - the steering precision is awesome, especially while driving on highway the car hugs the road. 3) Braking - Sure footed braking 4) Ample boot space - 2 Larger suitcase can easily fit in with ample space for small luggage 5) Torqy engine - the diesel engine is very torquey Honda has made best use of this engine by adding 6 speed transmission which makes it high on fuel efficiency 6) Five star rating for Safety on global NCAP The Minuses 1) High maintenance - so far i have not come across engine issue, but other consumables are very high like brake pad, Disc, Coolant, Engine oil etc 2) Low Pickup - the car engine is surely not sporty Honestly i am not seeing any other minuses

I too own a Jazz diesel VX amazing vehicle, the engine ran non stop till nagpur from Chennai on my trip to Delhi, it perfomed flawlessly.... It has crossed 55k in 3 years still the milage is same and very efficient.
@Jabes Ulaganathan honda diesel engines here may be unrefined, but they are very reliable comaparing rivals also honda got international award for their 2.2 I-ctdi diesel engine
I own Jazz ZX CVT (bought last year). I finalized this car after test driving several other cars under 15L. I had some important checklists like automatic, hill hold assist, spacious and comfortable seats for passengers and safety. I test drove Nexon and really liked it, but it didn't check the automatic part. It had AMT which is very jarring and it felt like some newbie is pulling the geras. Hated the test drive experience. Tested Verna, everything was good, but it was not spacious as Jazz and the premium price doesn't justify the features (lot of unnecessary luxury features like wireless charging, connected feature which elevated the price drastically compared to Jazz). And when I test drove Jazz, we knew it was the car. I took it to hill stations (Sirumalai, Idukki and few other areas inside Kerala) and CVT never failed me (make sure to put the gear in S mode on hill stations). The only thing I miss in Jazz is rear AC vent and rear power sockets. Jazz really is an underrated car.
Good detailed review of a less spoken car. If a review like this would have been there in 2014, I would have definitely gone for Jazz rather than Swift. Kudos to Moto Wagon.
Infact, today i have driven jazz CVT zx around 80kms, it is really a good car with good space and legroom, etc., In my concern I felt a few essential missing things 1. Rear seat cup holder 2. Rear Split seats to increase bootspace 3. Rear A/C vents 4. No knobs for anything Above are most important. But they have included sunroof - this played a key role in purchase ( my cousin's kids forced to buy this variant because of sunroof ). Apart from the above 4 points, i didn't feel anything. Superb things are 1.ivtec + CVT 2. Driving comfort 3. Overall seating comfort 4. Limited variants ( no need to waste time in picking variant ). - 👍👍 to Honda for having limited variants. All other features. But till now i m thinking why it has been an underrated car.

I own Jazz S Petrol bought in 2016 and to this day Im very happy about my decesion of going for it. Have driven 90K kilometres and the engine, clutch, transmission everything feels like day one !! All I can say about the car is "Nothing else is a JAZZ" A much under rated car and a great review explaining its features !! And the only con I had felt about is the bigger A pillar which (sometimes) causes a blind spot while taking close corners and thats all.
i owned jazz sv ivtec at 2016 just 2 days b4 demonetisation , so far crossed 55k till yet it feel brand new.... proud to be jazz user.... ivtec engine refinement next level .... while driving long we can feel the refinement... never crossed 100kmph... so i get 17km per liter...
I'm proud owner of 1st Gen 2011 Jazz. I drive it even now...I've put 113K kms on it. Jazz gives me both - city drive easy manouvering and sporty highway drive. Every drive from Chennai to my hometown Vellore is something I look forward to. No other car in this segment is so spacious, airy and sporty. Definitely rear AC vent would have been a big plus. I jus LOVE my JAZZ.
Wish Honda puts 1.5 L engine into Jazz & Amaze. Current 1.2 L is seriously underpowered.. Hyundai and Marutis dominate the sales because of engine options.. Owning Amaze CVT, its punchy - overtaking is a breeze, best in class comfort.. But underpowered engine struggles to pull 4, dropping mileage to single digit..
Few years back shortlisted celerio, grand i10, jazz. I went for little premium grand i10, main reason to ignore jazz is its 1 lakh more than i10. But I know it's quality.

Still there is no replacement hatchback yet for the space and peace of mind for a comfortable family ride with most safe in the segment only next to altroz. Even current generation i20 is 3 star can't beat jazz in reliability peace of mind safety. Check any jazz customer who reports issue 😂

Honda Jazz ( called by other names in other countries) got discontinued and they will discontinue this in india as well., But not sure when. This was in my buying list and now in dilemma.

Ihad Honda jazz CVT. But sold in 2 years. It's a premium car, no doubt. But it's expensive to maintain too. Our 1st service bill came about 10k. Ac is not a chiller. CVT combined with 1.2lt engine gives poor performance. Mileage is very bad too. MID will show higher mileage with 2 kmpl error. Ground clearance is bad again. I won't recommend this car to anyone. This car is exclusively made for rich elders. Period.
@@husnag24 got ignis now a month a back. I didn't want to spend much for a car as my usage is very less. I take only on weekends. So I just need a simple car. The on road price of ignis is less than for what I sold my jazz.
I agree, when it was launched it was priced equal Honda city, then they reduced the price more than 1lac,my sister own this car,petrol version. Mileage is decent and AC too. Ground clearance is poor. But overall it was good car. But now we have lots of options. But no car is as spacious as jazz.
It's ur opinion, you should have not bought an Honda Jazz if u can maintain a premium car. For ur budget mindset Ignis is the best. It failed in Crash test.
Using top model automatic version for past 2 years, after that I hate to drive manual cars 😆. Jazz is absolutely delightful to drive and amazingly comfortable.
Using the S mode for long drives is fun. You have the pleasure of automatic with the manual control liberties. You can shift up or down with the accelerator on. No clutch idling times.
Actually, you people are doing a great job. Personally I owned honda civic 1.8L old version 2006 - 11. please make a full review, though people will understand a real ivtec naturally aspirated engine. Please make it possible
Because of God's grace I own a 2018 jazz vx idtec. Now it's running 250000 kms with a mileage of 25 in highways. Just now clutch changed. It's better vehicle in space, mileage etc. Nothing like Jazz.
Please do it also for stopped cars...it would be helpful for secondhand cars also...if the stopped cars were available at low price means , could have been a better deal..

Honda jazz is discontinued in India.. The best choice for a tall buyer... The best premium hatchback car with sufficient boot space and interior space... Honda should consider continuing jazz in India...

I Own a Jazz V MT Version(Base variant) and magic seat is available in that. Also the Base Variant comes with Cruise Control, Rear Wiper,Rear Parking camera.

Thing is most of the product designer design a car always to go higher models if they want more premium. Honda is thinking to shut down their India operations, if they conduct events / forums to design the car by people choice and select the best. TVS founder is gethu in that front ntorq ironman Wanda themed vehicles came out of that way n he did in the right time wen it's demand is spiking up before these versions

When you are going to make a turn, you will not be able to use the indicator and this will lead the other road users to confusion. Hazard light to be used only when you are in stand still (during emergencies) or braking suddenly to come to full stop. Please correct me if wrong.

In this only issue is Rear AC vents not available since it's a premium hatch back atleast they could have upgraded in latest versions. But still maintaining same thing every year disappoints from Honda

A 2016 Jazz idtec owner here..currently doing 1,30,000 Km on odo single handedly. a very good practical car and a punchy diesel engine that's also very very frugal. Very reliable. Everything works. Just needs periodical maintenance and change of tyres and brake pads and discs if required.
Cons :
Poor NVH When compared to rival diesels.
Current 1.2 Petrol is smooth. But, very sluggish and offers inadequate performance.
Ground clearance might be an issue in non standard speed breakers. ( But,throughout my 1.2L km, my car has scrapped underbody several times in non standard speed breakers. But, the suspension setup or the exhaust hasn't been hit or damaged)

@@karthikeyanb2310I bought the E variant that's the base for 8.3 Lakhs in 2016. On road. Added OEM alloys of Amaze since the tyre size that came along the variant was 14" for 35k extra and I added a cheap 2 DIN stereo reciever,4 speakers and an amplifier. The audio setup isn't that exciting to listen. I just installed it to pick up calls. I don't even use it to answer calls now.
Honda service (General) is typically costlier than Suzuki/Hyundai/Kia. Slightly I'd say in their respective categories. Parts rate is in par with Hyundai/Kia.
Regarding Fuel Efficiency, it returns 20kmpl in the highway if I keep it at 110-120 kmph. It'll return more if I drive more sedately. In city, it'll return 17kmpl even if abused. I'd say I'm getting an overall FE of 18-19 kmpl as of now. When it was new, I'd get 1-2 km/l extra.
But, thr engine is just as good as it used to be.
Essential parts are handy with service centers. Clutch assembly, Brake kits are always in stock.
Honda can do general service nicely and not so great at finding electrical problems if I run into. (That's what the case with my dealership).
Honda typically runs fine and my car is pretty reliable. So, it's not a big worry.
Please feel free to ask questions if you have any more.
One catch here is, because of the magic seat, under thigh support is not at the best in the rear seat. It's a superb car in all aspects.

Sir....you are correct about jazz......but generally honda doesn't provide basic features like Rear seat adjustable head rest, Rear arm rest and rear ac vents (in premium hatchback product like jazz, WRV)....otherwise the scored maximum in rear seat legroom space..... thanks to you and your group for this episode sir

I own a Honda Jazz i-dtec diesel, it is the best investment i have done considering that i am 6.2 and well built.
The Plus
1) Very spacious - People of my size can easily sit at the back of me comfortably, doesnt make you feel claustrophobic due to bigger windows and ample visibility
2) Driving Pleasure - the steering precision is awesome, especially while driving on highway the car hugs the road.
3) Braking - Sure footed braking
4) Ample boot space - 2 Larger suitcase can easily fit in with ample space for small luggage
5) Torqy engine - the diesel engine is very torquey Honda has made best use of this engine by adding 6 speed transmission which makes it high on fuel efficiency
6) Five star rating for Safety on global NCAP
The Minuses
1) High maintenance - so far i have not come across engine issue, but other consumables are very high like brake pad, Disc, Coolant, Engine oil etc
2) Low Pickup - the car engine is surely not sporty
Honestly i am not seeing any other minuses

I too own a Jazz diesel VX amazing vehicle, the engine ran non stop till nagpur from Chennai on my trip to Delhi, it perfomed flawlessly.... It has crossed 55k in 3 years still the milage is same and very efficient.
Honda Diesel engines are noisy, petrol is refined and punchy.. Overtaking is a breeze

I own Jazz ZX CVT (bought last year). I finalized this car after test driving several other cars under 15L.
I had some important checklists like automatic, hill hold assist, spacious and comfortable seats for passengers and safety.
I test drove Nexon and really liked it, but it didn't check the automatic part. It had AMT which is very jarring and it felt like some newbie is pulling the geras. Hated the test drive experience.
Tested Verna, everything was good, but it was not spacious as Jazz and the premium price doesn't justify the features (lot of unnecessary luxury features like wireless charging, connected feature which elevated the price drastically compared to Jazz).
And when I test drove Jazz, we knew it was the car. I took it to hill stations (Sirumalai, Idukki and few other areas inside Kerala) and CVT never failed me (make sure to put the gear in S mode on hill stations).
The only thing I miss in Jazz is rear AC vent and rear power sockets. Jazz really is an underrated car.
Good detailed review of a less spoken car. If a review like this would have been there in 2014, I would have definitely gone for Jazz rather than Swift. Kudos to Moto Wagon.

Infact, today i have driven jazz CVT zx around 80kms, it is really a good car with good space and legroom, etc., In my concern I felt a few essential missing things
1. Rear seat cup holder
2. Rear Split seats to increase bootspace
3. Rear A/C vents
4. No knobs for anything
Above are most important.
But they have included sunroof - this played a key role in purchase ( my cousin's kids forced to buy this variant because of sunroof ).
Apart from the above 4 points, i didn't feel anything.
Superb things are
1.ivtec + CVT
2. Driving comfort
3. Overall seating comfort
4. Limited variants ( no need to waste time in picking variant ). - 👍👍 to Honda for having limited variants.
All other features.
But till now i m thinking why it has been an underrated car.

I own Jazz S Petrol bought in 2016 and to this day Im very happy about my decesion of going for it. Have driven 90K kilometres and the engine, clutch, transmission everything feels like day one !! All I can say about the car is "Nothing else is a JAZZ"

And the only con I had felt about is the bigger A pillar which (sometimes) causes a blind spot while taking close corners and thats all.

I'm proud owner of 1st Gen 2011 Jazz. I drive it even now...I've put 113K kms on it. Jazz gives me both - city drive easy manouvering and sporty highway drive. Every drive from Chennai to my hometown Vellore is something I look forward to. No other car in this segment is so spacious, airy and sporty. Definitely rear AC vent would have been a big plus. I jus LOVE my JAZZ.

Wish Honda puts 1.5 L engine into Jazz & Amaze. Current 1.2 L is seriously underpowered.. Hyundai and Marutis dominate the sales because of engine options.. Owning Amaze CVT, its punchy - overtaking is a breeze, best in class comfort.. But underpowered engine struggles to pull 4, dropping mileage to single digit..
Few years back shortlisted celerio, grand i10, jazz. I went for little premium grand i10, main reason to ignore jazz is its 1 lakh more than i10. But I know it's quality.
jazz is a big car than i10 so 1lakh is justified...but now jazz high priced than its competitors

Ihad Honda jazz CVT. But sold in 2 years. It's a premium car, no doubt. But it's expensive to maintain too. Our 1st service bill came about 10k. Ac is not a chiller. CVT combined with 1.2lt engine gives poor performance. Mileage is very bad too. MID will show higher mileage with 2 kmpl error. Ground clearance is bad again. I won't recommend this car to anyone. This car is exclusively made for rich elders. Period.

I agree, when it was launched it was priced equal Honda city, then they reduced the price more than 1lac,my sister own this car,petrol version. Mileage is decent and AC too. Ground clearance is poor. But overall it was good car. But now we have lots of options. But no car is as spacious as jazz.

Regarding the use of hazard light, while driving it is not acceptable to use it. When you are going to make a turn, you will not be able to use the indicator and this will lead the other road users to confusion. Hazard light to be used only when you are in stand still (during emergencies) or braking suddenly to come to full stop. Please correct me if wrong.
