These stories are extremely important for new generations to understand the sacrifice they made to position electronic music, I feel like a mirror or parallel worlds with respect to when we promoted the Argentine electronic scene in my country with my group Urban Groove, situations and anecdotes we lived very similar at that time in Buenos Aires. Thanks for the contribution, I also wanted to tell you that Watts Music & Sonic Groove were our musical powerhouse for my record store called Malevo Records. Thank You !
Love this! Used to buy a lot of your music when I started out! You and Tommy Musto! Good times. And you guys were always very nice to me. Incl you Adam! Thanks for doing this!❤
So good to hear the stories. I was at the energy rave in 89 that Frankie was at 🙌🏽. Learnt a few new things about Lenny from this podcast. Keep these up such epic content. 👏🏼
Listening now, thank you Adam, what a nice xmas present! This a roll call of heavyweights. I remember picking up so many of this crews early releases as they came out. We loved that rough sample heavy NYC sound in the UK. Later I saw Lenny at Knowledge in UK a few times, brilliant sets!
This was insanely interesting to listen to... Been a fan of all 3 since the 90s so hearing some of the early days of techno stories is so much fun. I could listen to these 3 talk techno every week!
This is a goldmine, learned so much about the scene and everyone's releases. Love the stories! Please do a part two Adam, I could listen to you three reminisce all day ! Happy xmas guys!
I like these DJs and producers who have a parallel background as myself. Starting with disco (instead of punk or rock), then acid house, and finally techno in all forms. I wish to hear them explain history separately, but it is OK. Kudos to you, Adam, for keeping their pace well when they try to jump to the early 90s quickly; you've slowed him down and asked him to complete the 1980s. Next please.
haha you caught that! , yeah I like to keep things a bit in a timeline especially with Lenny because he switched from house to hardcore , I've always been fascinated by this as his early house releases are gem's. A lot of his own fan's don't know this as does house heads.
I can't love this enough! When I started mixing in '97 Frankie was one of my first records. I wish I could remember the name but it had a yellow label. The first mix I ever recorded was with that recored. My mix revolved around that record. It was a 90 minute casseate recording. I had to flip the tape over in the middle of the b-side of that record. I handed it out to a friend, who handed it out to a friend, who handed out to a freind, and never seen it since. As much as I miss never getting it back, I'm grateful for the effect it had on everyone. The only reason I bought turntables was to be able to listen to the music in my car. I couldn't have imagined the profound effect it would have. During that time Frankie, Adam, and Heather did a Sonic Groove show in Chicago. I think the flyer had Sonic the Hedgehog on it. Amazing night. Around 2000, my friends, Strobe House, brought Lenny to a party in Rockford IL. Unfortunately, nobody showed up 😔But Lenny signed my tables at the end of the night. Thank you! Years later I come to find out that the song Dangerous on the Dancefloor, was co-produced by Frankie. I used to blast that shit when it came on B96 on the weekends, years prior, not knowing he was a part of what would influence the rest of my life. Factory 101. Thank you to all of you for your contributions! Merry Christmas!
yeah unfortunately my mom was in the hospital with a pretty bad infection on the day we did the chat. We were at the hospital for 10 hours on the day and were both physically and mentally exhausted.
Hey Adam and Bones. Hope i guys are well. Hapoy holidays. - TIM (Discogs) / rediscovery records. Good to hear the shoutout for the Los Angeles scene. You guys were some of our heroes in the early days.

Agreed. Nice to hear that Freestyle was mentioned. Freestyle doesmt get enough respect for what it did in 1983-87
3 legends lined up!
Fantastic interview, three legends right there 😮
