I totally agree. I was in Faroe Islands 2 months ago and saw the Grind on my first day . Although the islands are beautiful, the image of seeing dozens of pilot whales being driven to the beach in Hvannasund and slaughtered will haunt me forever. Unfortunately, I did not know of this practice before I went, or else I would never have gone.
Faroe Islands have A LOT of sea food Faroe Islands is one of the safest places to live and have a wonderful view we have a lot of good food that tastes good and I am so happy I live in the Faroe islands and there is 55,000 people in Faroe islands which is not a lot

When I look from my front yard in Bergamo mountains I see 300km far Monviso, the Alps, the Appennini and all the plain between (Milano included), from the backyard "just" Alps, rocks, snow, woods and little mountain villages.
But now that I see what you have there I wanna move to Fær Øer Islands, I ever wanted to live surrounded by sheeps, ice and stormy weather!

Haha some people think he's serious when he's obviously been sarcastic. There's plenty of seafood,the people are known for their seafood,its a major part of their food culture,the cliffs don't look anything like a suburban backyard just by looking at the very majestic cliffs like something out of a postcard, there a plenty of places to hike,hiking is common there with hiking trails,its perfect for hiking with the very clean air and seeing the natural beauty of the rugged landscape. The Faroe Islands is remote, located in the north Atlantic so its definitely not overcrowded with a small population who mostly live in small cosy beautiful villages and flying in a helicopter to see it all from the air,to take in the stunning beautiful scenery of the Faroe Islands is very tempting for just a few dollars ,it is a bargain.

Seriously, what are the downsides of living there? I'm sure there are some, like the weather is cold, there's lots of rain (which I actually like), internet isn't great, shipping for packages takes longer and costs more, there's less variety in local places to visit. I'm just guessing these, though.

I lived on an island in the Gulf of Mexico and it was true that there was no seafood. It could be bought in a grocery store but was not local! From the beach, shrimping boats could be seen on the horizon; in the store- thawed from frozen shrimp!

You shouldn't visit there because of the horrible dolphin sluaghter. Any attempts to save a dolphin is met with hostility and threatened with jail time. They literally kill these animals for no reason, and they do not eat the dolphins. Most of it goes to waste. It is a sport. They are all monsters.
dolphins are also sadistic animals that toy with corpses for fun, search it up

They DO eat the dolphins(pilot whales) - they share the catch with everyone in the village, but it is true that a lot of the meat goes to waste because of mercury poisoning. I agree with you that we should not visit there because of the slaughter. Unfortunately, I was not aware of the grind before I went there this June and saw it firsthand. Otherwise I would never have gone.
