LOL Thinking the same thing this morning. Heard it on 90.9 The Light in 2008, I believe. Love the sound and lyrics, and I've lived in both Seattle and California.
@@_NaGa_koRn I love nostalgia. Never really gave it much thought until my kids got older and discovered the word recently, plus the 90s came back after the pandemic and it's now okay to rock the classics. All of em. Peace from US.
I have been singing this song in my head for about 10 years trying soooooo hard to remember it! Googling it every so often or even trying to Shazam it by singing small parts I remembered and FINALLY at 4 am I found a Wikipedia page with titles of songs about Seattle and bam the moment I read The Classic Crime knew this was it! finaaaaaalllllllyyyyy my mind can rest
I first heard about this song when I was making an interview to a big company in Seattle. Unfortunately I didn't get the job, but I still love this song ... it is a prayer for renew of hopes, dreams and soul, because things aren't like you expected. Awesome song.
I was there on the release of this song like so many others. Living the dream in Seattle still reaching still dreaming. It was nice to hear this song again
as a Christian I feel even if they are a little secular the faith based songs give me strength God has blessed them as a band and lyrics and vocals awesome song
@@desipardo1646 There's less rainfall total throughout the year but it's constant drizzle and more frequently some level of rain vs other places where it rains a ton at once with breaks in between.
I almost forgot about this song. Last night I went on here to listen to an old song that just popped in my head randomly. (Pachuca sunrise-minus the bear). Since then it’s like all the songs I listened to in hs are coming back to me. The nostalgic feeling has been a beautiful high. I wish I could go back in time to when life was simple and all I worried about was chicks and school work lol .
Absolutely crazy how I used to listen to this song walking home from high school after being mercilessly bullied all day, every day. I’m 25 now, I’ve forgotten what it’s like to be bullied but this brings it all back. 😅
My real estate My life is dull And dried up like the sound A voice makes when the heart grows cold And it's going that way I think I'll move out of state Somewhere far from Seattle city lights They burn my eyes California sounds nice but California's a lie Maybe I'm out of luck Or maybe I'm just blind All this time Rain on my hopes Rain on my soul Rain on everything that I know It feels so ludicrous The pursuit of this dream We thought we'd be there long ago My life is like a rolling river So muddy and absurd And although I might be mistaken I know that I'll be heard And I find the second I try to pull away I'm thrown back in line All this time So Rain on my hopes Rain on my soul Rain on everything that I know It feels so ludicrous The pursuit of this dream We thought we'd be there long ago Rain on my hopes Rain on my soul Rain on everything that I know It feels so ludicrous The pursuit of this dream We thought we'd be there long ago And we are all looking for the same thing The same thing Seattle is calling me back home Back home So Rain on my hopes Rain on my soul Rain on everything that I know It feels so ludicrous The pursuit of this dream We thought we'd be there long ago Rain on my hopes Rain on my soul Rain on everything that I know It feels so ludicrous The pursuit of this dream We thought we'd be there long ago
I think everyone can relate to this song with the feeling of thinking you have to leave home to make something of yourself, yet once you do you realize that your hometown is what you need the most.

I just got known this song from the comment of Ben Shapiro show, where he talked about leaving California. How the heck haven't I heard of this wonderful song?!
The Classic Crime is incredible. I listen to their music everyday! It is full of so much life, truth, and passion. I have yet to find a band I enjoy more!
@thislovefromhell yah man, i lived in sac for 13 years of my life, i miss it so much. it gets hella hot over there. but i just moved to texas a month ago, its so much worse. ahaa. in summer its killer. I MISS SAC!
last year, I discover this song on youtube because of its video(animated)., and after i listen, it is a really good song. but im still thinking if i will meet someone who also knew this song. still waiting
Your both right yes the lead singe did say that they aren't a christian rock band but the lead singer also says that he's a christian and that he writes most of the songs & he also says his FAITH plays a HUGE part in there songs. A good exsample of that would be the city of orphans which talks about a city without god. So coam down man take it easy. They do play at christian music festivals. Hevan & hell is also a great song they made about god mabey u should listen to it. Its really Awsome!
@TxtACRowetxT Oh dang! I dont listen to PATD anymore, but I love their sound. The lead singer of TCC reminds me of Brendan Urie at some parts of the song, but with a wider, amazing-er range, haha.
This song is so cool! and to everyone saying that they sound like PATD, I would have to say he sounds more like Patrick Stump from fall out boy. Brendon's voice is a bit higher than the both of them. (:
They are Christians but they're like Paramore, Although they are Christians and it comes through in the music, they aren't labelled as a "Christian" band.
Seattle is the best city in the world!! well at least to me cuz it is my home but Seattle is the coffee capital, is where microsoft started, and boeing, and many bands, oh yeah and grunge mussic came from Seattle too! yes defiently best city!!
I've been listening to this song in different times of my life since 2010. It's incredible how it still makes sense. Brazilian here.

Unfortunately I didn't get the job, but I still love this song ... it is a

Awesome song.
2024 rocks, only because the classics rage. This was the flagship song on 90.9 The Light in 2007, but it transcends all that. Dang.
Never gets old
I forgot just how much I loved this song. It's like I got to experience it for the first time all over again. Beautiful.

I haven't heard this song or thought about this band in over a decade. That changed a couple days ago and I'm glad it did
I don't live in Seattle, but this is my mental life. Nothing but rain
There isn’t even that much rain in Seattle
@@desipardo1646 There's less rainfall total throughout the year but it's constant drizzle and more frequently some level of rain vs other places where it rains a ton at once with breaks in between.

Are we only known for rain?
Doesn't matter. *I LOVE RAIN!*
Every time I've been there, it's been mostly sunny days...

I saw them live like 5 years ago. When they were not even close to big yet. Been a fan ever since then. Amazing!!!
Fuck this song takes me back seriously
One of the best songs ever IMO.
Una canción bellísima y una voz llena de sensibilidad y melodía. A Jesucristo sea toda la Gloria.🇪🇦💕
My real estate
My life is dull
And dried up like the sound
A voice makes when the heart grows cold
And it's going that way
I think I'll move out of state
Somewhere far from Seattle city lights
They burn my eyes
California sounds nice but California's a lie
Maybe I'm out of luck
Or maybe I'm just blind
All this time
Rain on my hopes
Rain on my soul
Rain on everything that I know
It feels so ludicrous
The pursuit of this dream
We thought we'd be there long ago
My life is like a rolling river
So muddy and absurd
And although I might be mistaken
I know that I'll be heard
And I find the second I try to pull away
I'm thrown back in line
All this time
So
Rain on my hopes
Rain on my soul
Rain on everything that I know
It feels so ludicrous
The pursuit of this dream
We thought we'd be there long ago
Rain on my hopes
Rain on my soul
Rain on everything that I know
It feels so ludicrous
The pursuit of this dream
We thought we'd be there long ago
And we are all looking for the same thing
The same thing
Seattle is calling me back home
Back home
So
Rain on my hopes
Rain on my soul
Rain on everything that I know
It feels so ludicrous
The pursuit of this dream
We thought we'd be there long ago
Rain on my hopes
Rain on my soul
Rain on everything that I know
It feels so ludicrous
The pursuit of this dream
We thought we'd be there long ago
