He was my first (and still only :/) 5star, but I was so happy when I got him! His lore is so amazing that I bought the book today and started to read it. 1240 pages, here I come!
After the prison tower, the guy show up and save your ass multiple times. He save your ass in Salomon, Shinjuku and Shimousa, even appear in your dream in Norse losbelt. The guy is best bro.
Angra Manyu is a strange Avenger in that he is indeed the origin of the class but he's also the weakest Avenger as he is "nothing". In fact, the storyline of Solomon is almost literally lifted from Angra Manyu's storyline (both Solomon and Angra Manyu were men who were forced into a role and held no emotions towards said role, only fulfilling it mechanically, and their one and only desire in their lives was to "live an ordinary life"). So, while Avenger is the source of sin and hatred, Dantes is the source of "revenge". The title "the original avenger" is a reference to it's place as an incredibly famous figure that's born purely from the desire to take revenge. That's precisely why Avenger Dantes hates being called by his name, since the Dantes from the novel stops being the man full of anger and hatred at the end of the story. Basically, Avenger Dantes only personifies The Count of Monte Cristo, the period of time where Dantes swore to take revenge on every single one of his enemies.
@@LeonGun8 in fgo servants say that memories of their life after the point of their prime which they are summoned from feel like they come from someone else. yeah it is in the movie Montecristo where he takes Faria's place in the sack to scape, in the book he uses the tunel they both dug. of course no vampires or super owered priests either lol
@@trajano777 Ummm, no no. That's not true. Faria and Dantes planned to escape using a tunnel, but Faria had a stroke and that got delayed, and the hollowing wall they dug got filled in and erased their efforts. Then when Faria dies does Dantes swap the bodies and hides in the sack. My source is the book; my own copy, of course. That I've read.
Edmond let himself be beaten by Ritsuka, just so he could be released from Goetia's control. He basically told an Evil of Humanity to go fuck itself. Think back to Tiamat. The only people who were NOT in complete awe of seeing an Evil of Humanity manifest were Gilgamesh, Merlin, and Hassan. Gilgamesh is just fearless and cocky, but Merlin and Hassan are Grand Servants -their purpose is to combat the Evils of Humanity. Edmond is essentially on par with a Grand Servant. If there was ever such a thing as a Grand Avenger, he is it.
16 years in the prison would break most people but Dantes drive for Vengeance kept his will strong through it all he might have broken slightly at the start but meeting the priest and such probably gave him the push he needed to take action
Daily reminder that he pops out of your head to watch you sleep occasionally according to the interlude. Edit: and its not only him, according to Dantes' interlude, Nightingale occasionally watches you sleep as well. If I'm not mistaken Void does the same thing too...
@@OtakuDaiKun Yea, her bond 3 line. She tells you that she's unable to sleep due to what she is, and that makes her feel lonely. Then she explicitly says that being able to see (your) sleeping face makes up for it. Edit: Chaldea is starting to sound like the setting for a horror game doesn't it? Edit2: Also Void Shiki mentioned that she wished to be able to appear in your dreams but isn't able to, which funnily enough feeds back into Dantes' interlude a little. Since Dantes has been actively keeping foreign supernatural interferences out of your head (servants included) while you slept.

yeah it is in the movie Montecristo where he takes Faria's place in the sack to scape, in the book he uses the tunel they both dug.
of course no vampires or super owered priests either lol
@@trajano777 Ummm, no no. That's not true.
Faria and Dantes planned to escape using a tunnel, but Faria had a stroke and that got delayed, and the hollowing wall they dug got filled in and erased their efforts. Then when Faria dies does Dantes swap the bodies and hides in the sack.
My source is the book; my own copy, of course. That I've read.
well i have not read that very recently so i might be mistaken. may as well give it another read.
Interesting Avenger class Heroic Spirit !
Never heard of him before but as always good video Mr. Otaku Dai Kun.
My favorite unit finally gets a video! Woot! Best avenger.
Not sure why but his story is always compelling
Yay! I was waiting for this video!! It was amazing!!!
Heinrich Dethahal As in void Shiki?
@@OtakuDaiKun Yea, her bond 3 line. She tells you that she's unable to sleep due to what she is, and that makes her feel lonely. Then she explicitly says that being able to see (your) sleeping face makes up for it.
And since you don't share a room, that pretty much implies that she ocassionaly breaks into your room to watch you sleep, as does Dantes and Nightingale.
Heinrich Dethahal Chaldea is just wacky.
"Smashing that notification button like it your favorite waifu!" Ha good one!
Thank you once again!
Holy crap I did not expect Roa from Tsukihime to appear in Edmond Dantes lore video
Awesome video Dai! Will you do a lore video on Sakamoto Ryouma when he comes? He seems pretty cool! Peasu! Peasu!✌️
My 2nd most favorite Servant in the franchise is this one.
I love this servant he’s my favourite on my list number one
Edgemond Dantes
Who else came here because of the Melty Blood trailer?
Just me?
No, there were a few lol
man, he's like the batman of the nasuverse. It would be wild for lasengle to collab and give him a batman costume for holloween.
there goes my quartz for someone who doesn't even bother to come home (maybe bc i have BB and i used her to bully him i guess). anyways, looking forward to the next fate lore
OtakuDaiKun, love your fate lore videos. They are amazing and give me info on servants backstory. Keep up the good work. One request, can you do a Antonio Salieri one. I've been seeing pictures of him and I wanna know what's up with him. Thank you
Stay tuned for a video I publish today on March 5th that mentions Salieri in regard to Mozart.
Pewdiepie recommends the book about him recently. People are saying it's very good book recently also.
Pewdiepie actually reads books?
@@OtakuDaiKun Yeah lol
Dai btw by the music u chose i think another Avenger would run wild ;)
I've read his book, and it doesn't explain why he can travel between dreams and shoot beam with his hands lol
Best BOI in Shinjuku.
Cool to have Nagito in FGO.
The Angel of Vengeance
Can you make a video for Solomon's lore ?
“Despair! For in that place, you will know the suffering of Hell. Now, rot away!”
Love this servant since the first time I saw him during the solomon temple arc in the eight singularity with the dragon witch and amakusa That was epic
I heard he also has a Noble Phantasm which hides his true name and parameters from others.
Ok this guy is dope
Um I'm guessing his Fate/Grand Order story is very different from the book....
That's what it seems like.
Yay thank you for doing a lawyer about Edmond Dantes
Awesome video Otaku daikun
I love Edmond Dantes story :D
Question, where did you find this lore of him fighting roa? It sounds very interesting, and I would like to read it myself if possible
That's a drama cd
What spooky said, it happened in a Drama CD. So good luck finding that.
