Man I really appreciate you building us a community laundry-mat!!! Your awsome🇺🇸😁🇺🇸
Any time bro.
@@AZOFFGRID 😄
I have about 2500 watts of solar panels, and one 4000-watt ac converter to run an ac. And I have a 3500-watt converter to run the washer and tv, computer, stereo and lights and accessories.
It sounds like you have a pretty nice setup.
I'm doing all I can as fast as I can trying to set my life up for off grid living with very low bills. I've bought the solar total of 45 kw lithium batteries and 7 kw of inverter. 38 seer minisplit. Now working on a water system and laundry. Thanks for showing the propane dryer. Looks like that's the best bet
Wow. You aren't messing around with those batteries. Sounds like you are starting off strong. A propane dryer works very well in an off grid setting.
Have you looked into a rain water collection system for your water?
@jakobjackson8077 yes I have. They will be installed on all structures with a roof in the future.
Great video. I use mothballs under my trailer and I also put mothballs inside and where my power cords and water lines to my waste tanks. Does a great job keeping the critters away.
Mothballs are carcinogenic and bad for the environment. Living off grid, one would want to live more WITH the land, not continue to aid in destroying it for our children. It is our job to wake up for them.
Elizabeth McKenna well I could do the trap thing you know torture the little critters with poison or drowning?? I use mothballs to keep them away from my equipment and property. I suppose you never encountered what mice and rats can do to your property they chew through everything and anything. They are destructive little creatures. I don’t have mice/ rats at my property anymore since using mothballs. The military uses mothballs for everything from uniforms to keeping ships free from them rodents. I will continue to use mothballs. It works better than anything you buy at the store to rid your property of rodents.
17 gallons of water in the desert with no well seems like a lot to me. I'm off grid in CA desert, but that's cool you can pull it off.
17 gallons was a bit shocking to me at first, but I learned from others in my area that with a large amount of rain catchment and storage tanks, the summer monsoons will supply me with more water than I could use in a year. I just don't have that scale of rain catchment set up yet.
Wow that's cool, I didn't realize the RV water pump would be enough for a washer machine! 17 gallons is a hefty price, but sure beats going to town and using those quarters at the laundry mat! I put some "Just one bit" mouse poison bars around the legs of my RV and that seems to deter them from looking in the RV
Yeah it really did work, but I have switched things up since then. I just released this today. Check it out. ua-cam.com/video/V-tgDhxlI0Y/v-deo.html
Thanks king
Thank you.
How many loads of drying can you do with that 20lb propane tank? I assume using low heat mode to lenghten the propane usage. Love your videos. Great info! Keep up the great work. Thanks for inspiring others.
Thank you. I actually run it on regular heat. I don't know the exact number of loads because I only use it when I'm there for over a week, but I would have to say it's somewhere between 10 and 15 loads. Basically I used the same bottle for about two years before running out, but only used it while I was there on different vacations. Sometimes I would do three or four loads while I was there with sleeping bags, bedding and clothes.
Wow this is cool 😎 love it
Thank you.
Just bought mine at Spencer's brand new with propane gas tank set up for $800 with 4 year warranty so so happy
I have also solar system and for hot water im using small tankless gas boiler which is activated when water is circulating. Now i need to buy washing machine and i will connect hot water in it, so machine will not consume much power from batteries. You have gas bottle, so you can try that...
off grinding near Concho area. Got a 40 ft bus and 31 foot fifth wheel. a shed and deck. running solar and 2 wind turbines. loving your setup. beautiful area. been wondering how to setup washer. now I know. we're using a 110 volt dryer but it's not efficient. going propane for sure. what brand and model washer you using? thanks for the helpful videos
The washer is an LG HE. I don't remember the model off hand. I will let you know when I'm back up in a few days.
Thank you for the video.
I know this is an old video but do you remember about how long the propane tank lasted on the dryer. I am considering this setup but don’t want to change out the tanks all the time…
I'm sure it varies depending on the dryer you have, but for me, the small tank has probably lasted around 15 loads give or take, but I'm not completely sure because I end up disconnecting the tank when I'm going to be gone for a while and may or may not use the same tank when I come back.
get some moth balls and put in sachets under or around the trailer to help with mice
Maybe u should get a cat for rhe mice problem or set some traps..good video Buddy.
MOGUL...
Wen you leave take all the sheets and put them in the dryer. Move can't get in dryers.
Nice LG washing machine
Thanks for sharing this set up. Is the inverter in your RV? How big? Just wondering how much power you have to deliver to turn on the motor in the washer for example.
ua-cam.com/video/LiF_GNTnpH4/v-deo.html
This is an old video, but it gives you an idea of what I had when I first ran the washer and dryer. I have added more solar panels and batteries since then. The inverter is 4000 watts. Oddly, the washer doesn't have difficulties starting, it the dryer that does. The first initial torque of the drum draws a lot or power. Once it's running, it uses between 200 to 300 watts.
Thank you for your information. Please can I operate my car washing machine with solar panels?
I suppose if you had enough solar, you probably could.
So you CAN use a propane tank with a liquid propane converted dryer I was asking at Home Depot and online and no one knew
Absolutely.
What regulator are you using? Tried one for a bbq but it is not lighting
Just a common single stage regulator I grabbed in the Mr. Heater section of the hardware store. Make sure you have changed the orifice in your dryer to propane.
@@AZOFFGRID thanks. Yeah I am propane, just trying to set one up off a 5 gallon without luck.
you already helped me out once but quick question man where you located do you need it to put a septic tank and did you need a building permit and if not what county was that
Coconino County. I will need to put a septic in once we decide to live there full time. No permit yet. I will have our main house and pro solar system permitted when we are ready to build.
@@AZOFFGRID thank you my brother for responding back sorry because I'm not from that area but I really like it how much is the estimate for that the septic?
I haven't priced it out myself, but I've heard from the locals that it's around $2000.
@@AZOFFGRID wow $2,000 it's $2,000 for the pocket and I was thinking of doing something like you doing have a camper put it out there but they told me if I could be able to have a camper I need a building permit with a septic tank for I could be able to do my own solar system I need a building permit with electricity expert so am I going off-grid or back in society
Are you going to built a building of some sort for the washer and drier?.
Yes. This is just temporary while we are all here for the week. I will eventually build a wash room.
Looks like pretty cool setup. I agree about soaps. It's all bs about nature friendly. I mean where do they get chemicals? Nature?!
Well there are plenty of chemicals that I will not put into the ground here, but soap is not one of them.
@@AZOFFGRID The soap is not a big deal! Drawing scorpions or centipedes ect to your sleeping area not a good idea! On your mouse problem I use the strongest dryer sheets possible load up nooks and crannies with them seem to work well! Change them out 3 times a year. Moth balls are terrible smelling but I can stomach the dryer sheets!Good idea with the washer and dryer. maybe put that washer near one of your trees to water???
I will have to try the dryer sheets idea. As for moving the washer to a tree to water, not likely. My trailer is the current source for water and power. I do plan to store the gray water in the future for watering.
@@AZOFFGRID the cool thing about outdoor dryer is that you don't have to worry about exhaust
@@AZOFFGRID Look forward to see your vacation this year! Good luck!!!!
How often do you run out of propane? Does it last at least a month?
A BBQ size tank will last me over a month, but I usually only do one or two loads a week.
I need to do the same with a dryer. What are the parts I need?
If you are using propane, then you will need to find out the right propane orifice for your model dryer.
What kind of cell signal booster are you using?
Weeboost home connect 4g.
@@AZOFFGRID it's been a couple years, how's the boost working for y'all. Any upgrades?
@@tracyguerrero5849 We still have the Weboost and it still works well for cell service, but the data signal coming from the cell tower has diminished substantially. Everyone around me has noticed the same thing. We ended up getting Starlink for our internet and it's awesome.
Won't you cut a washer and dryer inside a shed add solar panels to your roof and a converter to call you washer and dryer
I will build a wash room in the future.
What's wrong with septic systems?
Absolutely nothing. I will have one in the future. It can be difficult to get a contractor out where my place is, so I am going to wait until I am sure of the location of where I want to put a septic.
Are you a color brother my friend?
Hi my friend. I've been watching u for a while. I had to comment today because I want to help u. I know you're not up there often, and u commented about tide. Well, my friend, you would benefit yourself and your trees u have planted by reusing that grey water for them. Think on this for a bit please. And if u use biodegradable soap, u will help the trees and kill any bad bugs and bacteria along with watering the trees. Esp if u have to do several loads of laundry....why waste water in a pit that will only grow bugs and water the mice and rodents u don't want under and in your RV. Please think more wisely that way, it will help u.
I agree, by using Castille soaps or the like you use that grey water! If and when water becomes scarce it would be good to have this as an option.
I guess I should have been more informative in the video. This is a temporary setup. Once in a permanent enclosure, I always planned on storing the gray water.
@@AZOFFGRID u never want to store grey water. Use it immediately if possible. Bugs and bacteria!!
We hand wash our clothes and use biodegradable soaps from dishes to laundry shampoos bath soaps. I have a skirt around my trailer it helps to keep my pets from going under there and keeps them away from the mothballs. Great video ! I understand it’s new for your property and you will work out the details as you go. I’ve been watching your channel for quite a while and I enjoy All your content. Thank you for sharing.
Get cats
I will definitely have cats when we move there full time.
modern washers are terrible in that they take way way way to much time. my old whirpool top loader does large loads in 10 minutes each. done for the month in a couple hours and just hang dry so no dryer needed. you can run hot and cold from one hose, the washer wont know which one you are using, then just cap the other side off. best thing you coulda done was if you bought a KUPPET 21 lb. portable washer/spinner for a mere 161 bucks on amazon. with its 8 lb spin dryer clothes are practically dry out of the bin.
it uses very very very small amount of power and water level is up to you. just dump in a 7 gallon pale and add a smal 1/4 scoop of natural soap then turn it on. done in 12 minutes or less then stick half the washed clothes in the spin bin and spin for 3 minutes and then spin the second half. done simple, low power, low water and super fast. also your ses pool is too close to the trailer. and you will burn a ton of propane using a hot dryer when spin dry and fresh air is all you really need. heat not needed. The wash side holds 13 lbs. so have to wash one comforter at a time but its so fast who cares.
I am familiar with the washer you are talking about. Not interested. On this channel, I try to show people that you can have all the comforts from home off grid. I also prefer to heat dry my clothes. I don't like to hang them to dry.
