There's only so much you can do self filming Bob, it's impossible to fish and zoom on a float. I filmed in 4k and zoomed the float as much as possible to 1080p before you lose too much quality. I need a film crew 😜
Always enjoy watching a video on the Stainy,Breads a great way to kick off your session and will give you a good run of Roach whilst big potting a couple hundred ml if Hemp across to the boats in a bit of a spread over a half metre line. While bagging those punch fish caty a few grains 12 or so every few mins and has the bread line starts slowing ping a few caster don't be shy half a pouch every 5 mins to go on with a strung rig. Some lovely Rudd show and then Skimbobs 👌 n stamp roach always try the Hemp over that line on lightest rig conditions allow .5 7.5g maybe try nxt time pal everyday on the banks a schoolday has we all know Gb n soil dark mix with tiny bit of choppie to boats good n'all has throw away line. Happy newyear and Tight lines 🐟🐟🐟🎣
@@jamesmusson9820 I sure have although I tend to use the SF1's from Drennan now. still a slim bodied float but benefit from interchangeable tips and indestructible wire stems.
Ok John??? Another brand spanking new Octbox mate LOVELY that's go more drawers than my bedroom furniture!!!!!!! nice steady session mate NICE 1..... If you ever want to sell me that chair give me a shout cannot find 1 anywhere. OHHH an a Belated Very Happy New Year...Take it east mate Regards IAN
Hi Ian, all good thanks pal, Happy New Year to you too. Guess Santa 🎅😉brought you the ultimate box for Xmas 👍. You'll soon fill those drawers up if you buy too much stuff like me 🤣, hope you're loving the stability of the box. Ive got the outrigger for when you need a longer leg and a bit more security, cracking bit of kit. As for the chair, I picked up an Aeronium but the legs are way to short on the extension for anything but flat banks really, no good for rivers so I'll be sending it back or moving it on I think and sticking with old faithful, sorry bud, I'm sure some will turn up soon though, I waited 6 months to get my hands on an Aeronium.
Yes I know Martin, they were only strange for a while though, most bites were good. When the light conditions are changing, spotting a dotted down float can be difficult. With a bit more bristle showing, it's easier to read the bite. Glad you enjoyed it, sorry about the sound quality, microphone problems ☹️
A really good video John ,looks like you picked a decent day even though it was cold .I used to fish eastern winter league in 70s and80s but I can’t feel my fingers now when it gets this cold got to be above 10 for me to fish ,keep safe and all the best for new year
Thanks Roy, it wasn't too bad out there, it was 6th December, been a bit worse recently , very wet on muddy on the banks. I suffer with Raynaud's but I use those gloves which have some kind of special lining to help radiate heat across the hands. They're guideline fir-skin cgx. Their blurb... "The yarns are infused in liquid titanium and have the property of retaining heat from Far-Infrared Rays (FIR) natural heating." Coupled with hand warmers they keep my fingers moving in all but the worst weather...bit rubbish if they get wet though.
Super upload John, you certainly know the back of that stretch of Stainy. Plus dare I say you deserve at least 10 x subs you have now. Great info and content in all your videos stay safe.
Thank you so much, that's very kind of you. I'd normally approach that stretch with bloodworm and joker at this time of year but it's possible to catch on a variety of baits and methods, bread just seemed the natural second choice for the roach. Take care and tight lines when we get back out of lockdown 🎣
I wonder if hemp on the hook might have worked, maybe brought some stamp roach. Was wondering as you’d fed some anyway, and you could probably use the same rig&hook?
Hi Lucy, yes I could have used the hemp on the same rig, it was really only there to add weight to the bread punch though, it's not normally a bait I'd use on the hook in winter, but worth a try as an alternative. I just don't think there were really any better stamp fish in the swim, if there had been I'd have caught more than one on the bread.
@@HOOKEDFishingChannel you can catch long on hemp or caster in winter on stainy m8 ,put a pot in long at the start either caster or hemp and keep feeding with catty while your on punch line ,hope this helps
another cracking vid i really enjoy your channel as you fish mostly natural venues as i do, will you be filming any more on the trent come the summer john. take care mate.
Hi David, thanks mate. Yes I'll be back on the Trent barbelling, and fishing for anything at some point and at least one match at Fiskerton planned for October if it gets confirmed. Stay tuned 👍

Happy New Year Anthony, or at least it was looking up until BoJo spouted up 😭. I've never pike fished it but there were a lot of pike anglers out and they told me it's good fishing. One. To try for sure.
@@anthonylong6403 gonna try and do some other vids and maybe a live session or two, hopefully give you all a bit more insight into my fishing, approach, kit etc
Time for a brew and a warm up, it's always nice this time of the year to catch silvers. Keep up the good work we still learning off you John.
Thanks Clive, it wasn't too bad out there that day, I wouldn't say it was warm but certainly more pleasant than the day at Elvington. ☂
Another great video John.
Enjoying the channel John. Maybe you could do some close up on
the float showing the actual bites. Thank you.

Thanks Melvin, as long as we're not locked down, I'll keep going and producing the content. All the best bud.
Winter fishing, at least you were getting bites. Another good video
Thanks Mike, yes exactly, nice to get bites, never complain when the float keeps going under 😄
Good effort mate and regular bites too, can't complain....
