Fun fact: Fighting in hockey goes all the way back to the first ever recorded organized game! The teams had booked the ice they were playing on, but eventually the owners asked them to leave prematurely and a scrap ensued. I find it hilarious that the fight occurred between players and the rink owners instead of between players. There’s a whole code to hockey fighting and I think all sports should allow fighting
Also, fighting is illegal in hockey. That’s why there’s a penalty for it. But they also recognize that other penalties occur that don’t get called and that’s the potential consequence for a dirty play or uncalled penalty in some cases. It’s a very physical game and that is meant to be an equalizer. Whether or not that’s why a fight starts, it’s not just a potential equalizer, but also a potential momentum shift, and that’s part of the excitement. And knockouts definitely happen. Point and case, every fight Todd Fedoruk fight…except he was the knockoutee.
I think fighting in hockey is kind of barbaric and should be banned. However, i think they should institute a system of dueling. Someone inuslts your honour? Post up and draw flintlocks.
Lol I wish all sports allowed fighting but it only really works in hockey because they’re on skates so they can’t sink into their blows, meaning they can only throw arm and shoulder punches, which is enough to bust you up, but not cause any significant damage versus if football or rugby players hit each full force from their hips wearing cleats they would shatter each other’s jaws and shit 😂 if it did, though I feel like it would very quickly become a stat like he’s fast, this many passes. Oh, he can fight really well.
I wonder if either of them are talking to their team about tips to counter them lol I could definitely see Jason being like "hey Gannon Travis said he hates when guys shove him at the line" or Travis being like "listen Spags, Jason said he doesn't like guys rushing his inside right shoulder" or something

The Mighty Duck Bash Bros comment by Travis made my day, thanks for a great video guys, can't wait to watch y'all in the Super Bowl! Congrats to both of you!!
Travis understanding the new rugby rules is impressive. The ball can go forward in rugby as long as the passing motion was lateral and the momentum created by the running player is the cause of the ball going forward.
In rugby you can only move the ball forward by running it or kicking it forward. So instead if the double pass you were talking about you could run it forward and kick it forward as long as that player was behind the ball when it was kicked. You can even scrub kick it to yourself. Good luck to both of you guys say healthy have a great game

Always thought there was such an interesting dichotomy between hockey and other sports, football especially. We’ve come to expect fighting so much in hockey that it often just warrants a penalty. However, if you stopped the game to fight in football or other sports people are getting “disqualified”, ejected and sometimes even fined. There’s so much more physical contact in football to begin with, that often their “roughing” the passer calls are just comical at times.

Simplified Rugby passing rule: The ball should travel backward out of the runner's hands. It makes more sense when you look at a play in motion, it means that two players running side by side/one behind the other can pass the ball whilst running better flow of the match, rather than one player having to stop in place to receive the ball, then accelerate again
1. We get rid of Monday night football. 2. Eliminate the pocket for Intentional Grounding. If you throw it 10 yards deep into the sideline, it’s grounding, no matter where you are. 3. Instant replay is limited to three replays in full speed. If you can’t surely determine whether to call it one way or the other after that, the call couldn’t have been that bad. 4. If you fumble out of bounds, it’s a turnover. 5. If you take a time out in the last 5 seconds of the play clock, it’s still a delay of game.
I remember the issue that pushed taunting to become a penalty; Charlie Morton of the KC Chiefs did the worm after a touchdown, nothing made of it. However the next week an OG karen complained nationally that a kid in peewee football did the worm after a touchdown. The next year celebrations were never the same.

In the old days, you could do a running start (and they played without helmets). So running backs would lineup 10-20 yards back, go full out, get the handoff, and hit the line at full speed. They did away with it for obvious reasons ... but agreed it would be fun to see!
Change defensive pass interference from a spot foul to a 10 yard and auto 1st down. Make roughing the passer called if there’s helmet to helmet or 1.5 seconds after release of the ball
Lane or suh would be the best enforcers for the birds on each side of the ball. Lots of good candidates on Philly to be fair. Rotational enforcer depth.

The interesting thing about brothers competing against each other in the Super Bowl is that they know each other inside and out which brings up a question that I would like answered. Are you both willing to share with your respective coaching staffs, anything about your brother that can give your team the edge in the Super Bowl? Why or why not? If you are willing to answer a second question in two parts. What are the ground rules to ensure that once the game is over, your household remains as close as it was before the Super Bowl? Will the winner give their Super Bowl ring to their mom since you each have one already? If the ring goes to mom, technically it ensures that the household always wins no matter what.
