Of course the scuzzy crook wont like you having the power to get a full refund... so they refuse to accept Paypal... which is, of course, an excellent indicator that they are a crook. 👍
Yeah... the Internet can be a pretty effed up place, I've been on both ends. 1. I sold a rocktron voodoo valve rack effect probably around 15 years ago, only to have my email hacked on the same day. I didn't have any information from the buyer, couldn't get access to my email account (it was my first email account EVER, which i created with made-up-credentials) but I already received the money. It wasn't unteil eight months later that I was able to retrieve his address and send him the Rockton (including an apology letter) 2. Buying a car, only to have the engine blow up a couple days later and the seller just disappearing after having agreed to fix the dann thing. So now I don't have a car (for which I still have to pay taxes, since I can't un-register it, because the necessary documents are with the seller) AND I'm short roughly 8000€. Both of these transactions went the way they did because I've never had any bad experiences buying or selling used stuff on the internet. Who knows, maybe in a couple months (seemingly out of nowhere) you might still receive your amp (though I doubt it) 😅

If you do want something, go into the car and look at the goods and then only, goods against payment. But how did you know that this was exactly your amp from before after all these years?
Got semi scammed as well: not to buy but in a trade deal. Was trading a fairly newer Caparison Dellinger JSM model for: Mesa 4x12, JCM900, and an assortment of pedals. The Mesa was advertised with V30/DV77 combo( no DV77) 1 16 ohm G12T75, 2 8ohm G12T75, 1 8 ohm off brand. Wires were snipped and not even 1 speaker was wired to use. JCM900 - fuse was blown, all tubes were cooked, no output at all. Cost over $300 just to get to work but still needed a newer set of tubes as the ones given were used a bit. Pedals were ok. Messages guy said gave SH deal, got told I’m being a “Whiny B**** and almost as bad as his gf/wife don’t have time to deal with it” I asked for cash or something since nothing worked, and got told to get over it not getting anything or trading back.
I got scammed last month for 700€ by a guy from Etsy. Fortunately PayPal ruled in my favor cause Etsy refused to help. I also file a police complaint. I never pay as family and friends unless it's a guy I already know or if the value is low. When I pay with PayPal I always add the fees so there's no argument from the sellers side. But I hope the scammer is from Germany as well and you manage solve it.
Its hard enough for us guitarists to buy new gear we are never 100% with the decition (at least i am) so scaming on guitar gear should be life in prison😂 Hope you are over it 🙏

Anyways, I imagine you tried everything on you hands to get back your money so maybe I am kinda silly by asking about the return policy of the site or maybe paypal, bank, etc. There should be a way to get back the transaction and also, trace the IP of the miserable guy that did this so he can pay for his scam. I learned my lesson. If you buy, pick it up personally - if you sell, accept cash. If the selling platform offers a secured payment option, use that. Never ever use PayPal friends and your cool. It's weird though that your Reverb account got suspended. I'd write them an e-mail out of pure curiosity why that happened. 😄🎄✌️

Hi Carsten....ich kann komplett nachfühlen wie verarscht du dir vorkommst, da denkt Mann man ist unter Musikerkollegen ....da wird doch nicht beschissen ....da geht man davon aus dass ist einer von uns, ebenfalls ein Gitarrist mit Herzblut und Leidenschaft der bescheisst doch keinen anderen Musiker. Weit gefehlt, ich bin sogar vor einiger Zeit durch meine Gutgläubigkeit 1300€ für einen Kemper+Zubehör auf dieser Plattform los geworden. Komplettes Programm mit Anzeige bei Polizei erstatten usw. nach Monaten wurde das Verfahren eingestellt da kein Täter ermittelt werden konnte. Jetzt bin ich auch schlauer...am besten Abholung...wenn nicht dann habe ich schon öfter das Sicher-Bezahlsystem von Kleinanzeigen genutzt. Mittlerweile sind da unglaublich viele schwarze Schafe unterwegs da wirst du täglich aufs neue beschissen. Ach neee, tut mir leid ❤ A TIP: I usually ask for a „timestamp“ picture of the product when I am unsure. Ask the seller to take a picture of the product with a handwritten note in the picture that contains his username and date of taking the picture. Don’t accept timestamps written on smartphones or other digitaldevices in the pictures because they are more easily photoshopped in. Also always check how old the account of the seller is.

@@CarstenStepanowicz es gibt immer gute Möglichkeiten den Leuten auf die Schliche zu kommen : - Fotos sehen aus wie Screenshots und könnten auch unschärfer sein . - Google Fotosuche nutzen . Das habe ich oft gemacht und dabei entdeckt, dass es entweder alte Inserate sind oder Inserate aus anderen Ländern . - die Leute schreiben super unauthentisch oder haben keine Ahnung von dem was sie da anbieten. -keine Abholung möglich - und der Knaller : in HH wurde ein JVM mit Mesa 2x12 angeboten . Für 500€ vb. Auf Nachfrage ob man das Set abholen könnte : „Nein das geht nicht . Mein Vater ist schon immer blind und taub“. 😂 - Knaller 2: Gibson les Paul Standard für 760€ vb im Nachbar Ort . Habe eine Uhrzeit und Adresse ausgemacht . Bin hingefahren und eine ältere Dame wusste um 18:00 nicht was dieser Mann der eine Gitarre kaufen wollte von ihr wollte . So wurde ich gescammed. Ich muss aber auch sagen, ich verkaufe ungern mit Käuferschutz. Für den Verkäufer gut , für den Käufer ein Risiko. Andersherum ist auch auch Banane . Deswegen : ich hole die Sachen die ich brauche immer selbst ab.
Das tut mir echt leid. In freudige Erwartung und dann dieser Mist. Was ich immer gemacht habe, wenn wer Friends & Family nur akzeptierte, dann hab ich die Gebühren ausgerechnet und dem dann entsprechend mehr bezahlt, damit es glatt ankommt. Thanks bro! Nah, if you don't act as stupid as me, Kleinanzeigen is cool. You just have to be very careful. Do yourself a favor and use the payment option from Kleinanzeigen only. This would have avoided a lot of trouble in my case. 😄✌️🎄
Carsten, I'm very sorry for you. Here is what I always do on kleinanzeigen if I'm suspecting in the slightest way that something might be fishy, especially if the seller wants to be paid with PP friends only (which for my is a sign of fishyness, but as seller I also prefer that...). 1. Ask if you can pick it up personally and pay in cash. If they deny: red flag. But you can ask if you can get a very special picture of the piece of gear you want. Like "in the pic it seems to be scratched, can you send a close up?" If they accept and live in hard to get places like the german islands or on a Hallig most surely red flag. If they accept and live close to you: go pick it up or do the same as in the next option. If they accept and live somewhere else google the closest city to that place and tell them you will be there at the weekend to visit a friend anyway. Get their details. If all of that was not a problem you can be honest and tell them you just checked because you didn't want to be scammed, you trust them now and are willing to pay with PP friends. 2. If the name of the PP account matches with the data from before you're almost save, but if not or there is some fishyness left just pay with the save payment method, calculate beforehand how much you have to transfer to cover PPs cut and do so. 3. If they accept it that way: you're fine. If not: Ask for the reason. There are legit reasons. But with obvious scammers often just they they can't do it. Besides that: 1st rule of Kleinanzeigen "if it seems to good to be true it probably is." I had like 99% positive experiences with other musicians on Kleinanzeigen. As soon as I sell anything else as guitar stuff it turns into hell real fast.

3-400€ for a JCM900 isn't unreasonable these days, they tend to go for dirt cheap. Sorry you got scammed bro. Happy holidays 🎄

A TIP: I usually ask for a „timestamp“ picture of the product when I am unsure. Ask the seller to take a picture of the product with a handwritten note in the picture that contains his username and date of taking the picture. Don’t accept timestamps written on smartphones or other digitaldevices in the pictures because they are more easily photoshopped in. Also always check how old the account of the seller is.

@@CarstenStepanowicz es gibt immer gute Möglichkeiten den Leuten auf die Schliche zu kommen :
- Fotos sehen aus wie Screenshots und könnten auch unschärfer sein .
- Google Fotosuche nutzen . Das habe ich oft gemacht und dabei entdeckt, dass es entweder alte Inserate sind oder Inserate aus anderen Ländern .
- die Leute schreiben super unauthentisch oder haben keine Ahnung von dem was sie da anbieten.
-keine Abholung möglich
- und der Knaller : in HH wurde ein JVM mit Mesa 2x12 angeboten . Für 500€ vb. Auf Nachfrage ob man das Set abholen könnte : „Nein das geht nicht . Mein Vater ist schon immer blind und taub“. 😂
- Knaller 2: Gibson les Paul Standard für 760€ vb im Nachbar Ort . Habe eine Uhrzeit und Adresse ausgemacht . Bin hingefahren und eine ältere Dame wusste um 18:00 nicht was dieser Mann der eine Gitarre kaufen wollte von ihr wollte . So wurde ich gescammed. Ich muss aber auch sagen, ich verkaufe ungern mit Käuferschutz. Für den Verkäufer gut , für den Käufer ein Risiko. Andersherum ist auch auch Banane . Deswegen : ich hole die Sachen die ich brauche immer selbst ab.
Das tut mir echt leid. In freudige Erwartung und dann dieser Mist. Was ich immer gemacht habe, wenn wer Friends & Family nur akzeptierte, dann hab ich die Gebühren ausgerechnet und dem dann entsprechend mehr bezahlt, damit es glatt ankommt. Merken viele nicht aber immerhin abgesichert.

Carsten, I'm very sorry for you.
Here is what I always do on kleinanzeigen if I'm suspecting in the slightest way that something might be fishy, especially if the seller wants to be paid with PP friends only (which for my is a sign of fishyness, but as seller I also prefer that...).
1. Ask if you can pick it up personally and pay in cash.
If they deny: red flag. But you can ask if you can get a very special picture of the piece of gear you want. Like "in the pic it seems to be scratched, can you send a close up?"
If they accept and live in hard to get places like the german islands or on a Hallig most surely red flag.
If they accept and live close to you: go pick it up or do the same as in the next option.
If they accept and live somewhere else google the closest city to that place and tell them you will be there at the weekend to visit a friend anyway. Get their details. If all of that was not a problem you can be honest and tell them you just checked because you didn't want to be scammed, you trust them now and are willing to pay with PP friends.
2. If the name of the PP account matches with the data from before you're almost save, but if not or there is some fishyness left just pay with the save payment method, calculate beforehand how much you have to transfer to cover PPs cut and do so.
3. If they accept it that way: you're fine.
If not: Ask for the reason. There are legit reasons. But with obvious scammers often just they they can't do it.
Besides that: 1st rule of Kleinanzeigen "if it seems to good to be true it probably is."
I had like 99% positive experiences with other musicians on Kleinanzeigen. As soon as I sell anything else as guitar stuff it turns into hell real fast.

Danke Carsten! Ich war so superschlau und hab' via Paypal friends bezahlt. Da distanzieren sich sowohl Paypal als auch Kleinanzeigen und du kannst lediglich Anzeige bei der Polizei erstatten. 🤷
