Sometimes when I listen to Fr Mike’s homily, I never want it to end, because it is such a holy & sacred moment, and fills my heart. My prayer for myself, and all of us, would be to take the presence of God to those around us. JRR Tolkien & CS Lewis certainly did that with their amazing tales and insights into the battles between good and evil, redemption, humility, love, and grace; while containing brilliant lines of truth.

I have done the 30mins prayer (15mins me talking and 15mins listening to God), something I used to do. But this challenge made me start it again, with Ascention. Yesterday i have put someone on the altar as the offering (the relationship i fell is not good for me that I need to break off after Christmas) for the exchange of receving baby Jesus in my heart, being born in me, in my stable. After receiving Holy Communion I have imagined baby Jesus smiling and gently asking if He can come to my heart, to be born in my heart. He doesn't mind it's messy, He still wants to come. That's why He choose to be born in such a place, to be placed in manger. My heart, my actions, things are messy. He still is so humble to ask me if He MAY come in. That's the consequence of the prayer, spending time with Him. He will reveal Himself. Thanks to God and Marry

Thank you for your beautiful post. I noticed that you posted a year ago. I pray that during this past year Jesus has filled your heart to the brim. I also pray that, if it is his will, he has or will send someone special into your life and heart.

Hello Father Mike and Merry Christmas!
This homily brought me to tears. I feel a deep sorrow for this couple, for their son, as well as, their family! I truly cannot imagine the depth of their grief! I ask God to bless them today and always! I pray that our Lord helps them find comfort during this very sad time in their lives!
Father Mike I also pray that our Lord keeps you safe, always. You are a great gift to our world. I listen to you all the time and wish there were more great men to preach the word of God. There is always a great lesson to be learned and I thank you.
May God bless you always! ❤

Merry Christmas Father Mike! Profound homily. Tears of gratitude as a special needs single mom of a handicap boy, who is now a young man. THE LORD CARRIED US TO THE OTHER SIDE. I did see every year of MY SON'S childhood. The Lord provided an adult living path for him. It is a gift. I could let go today of all the pain and hardships. We made it through. Bless you.

I did the 29 minute challenge virtually, and at one point (second day of it) my hands, arms, chest and feet became warm and I felt like I was wrapped in love. It was a very physical feeling and others could feel the warmth. This happened at home, and then again at midnight mass.

Wow! What an amazing homily! I found The Lord of the rings such a great analogy for those of us whom read and watched it. I love how all the different stories all come together. What an amazing way Peter Joseph was honored by his consecration to God. The coffin and now will be prayed for by all of us who hear this families story. God's child which is Hopefully we can all learn from this family do so right by their child.

Seven years ago I was in a famous church in a country where I did not speak the language. I looked all over for the red candle. I couldn’t find it. I went up to one of the docents and asked him “Jesu?” He took me to a side chapel, quiet, small, door closed. So small in this huge cathedral. There was the red candle.

    Hello Nicolette,
Here is my 29 word poem
    Reveal yourself Jesus
    Early morning, dark and still
    We waited
    Joy took root
    Scripture on pilgrimage
    Life Interrupted
    Persevere with patience
    Encouraged
Jesus is closer than you think

We don't pray to Saints, we ask Saints to pray either with us or for us. We don't even pray to Christ, we pray either in and/or through His name. We pray only to the Father, in the Holy Spirit.
    Just as a friendly reminder.
With the baby's kidneys not forming, I wonder if the headaches were a symptom of sepsis;/
Man, that story had me bawling this morning. That definitely had to have been an emotional challenge that still affects that family;/
Holy Hell, Batman. I couldn't help but pray for them.
    ---
The "little cesspools"...lol...and you made your niece sound like she's from the Bronx or someplace ...😆
I was telling someone that the other day, I was like, "Don't ever get mad that a baby's crying or being too loud, someone somewhere is in a situation where they are begging God for their baby to be able to breath and/or to be able to make the slightest sound. The baby that's crying has lungs that work and that's a great blessing overlooked by many".
Man, that's a tough one, that story you shared. I'm glad you shared it, the burden of rough pain exists throughout the life span, just like for Christ. This family's story of pain was a great reminder of the purpose of Christ's birth, to bring the breath of life into the world.
    Virtual hugs, Merry Christmas.

And I absolutely can't bear to listen about some passed-away babies so just no, next time. about ignoring, I go to church just to be ignored. I'm small and no one knows me. But today some man just stared at me and it was strange, I was furious. Like why? I know, I don't look too good now, after the third pregnancy and I'm maybe a little bit fatty now, but not enough for shaming. I think. I am concerned about such things. Like, what do they think about me? What problem do they see in me? brr.
