  • So I lost my key and it’s been two years since this car has even been turned on. It’s about time to get to work on it. The only important thing that I think I should mention that I didn’t say in the video is, don’t drop any of the screws down the steering column! I may be talking from experience. 😉

    yay. Finally a person who knows mechanics as well as how to edit out unnecessary talk. When people come to UA-cam for DIY instruction , most of the time one gets a feature length video that is excruciatingly painful to watch and most often skips the important steps. Dont need an hour to show someone how to change a bicycle tire.
    Well done and bravo! A+ job.
    Thank You.

      😊wow thank you for the kind words. It’s funny you say that because the monologue at the beginning was originally three times longer but I said to myself “I don’t want to be that guy “😂

    Awesome! I really like that you showed the step by step of putting it all back together. Most just say, do in reverse and leave it at that. I get stressed on the little stuff and would prob miss a step. Thanks again!!

    After viewing, headed for Advanced Auto. Then, pick a part with bolts, sack of tools; one rented. Wanted door locks to work with key. Thanks 4 posting. Very helpful👍

    this is an incredibly in depths video covering the steering column. My issue is I put the key in my 88 fiero gt and I started it...but I couldn't turn it off. Couldn't turn the key at all actually. unless there are significant differences in the steering column from 87 to 88, I should be able to follow this just fine. I would like to be able to keep the keys I have but it seems like the best way to go is to replace the cylinder and accept that it'll need new keys too

      @@fieromike1 I replaced the fuel pump and everything was working fine then suddenly stopped working. The relay thunks not clicks and power to pump at firewall. FYI I have been putting it back together (in pieces) and just put the interior back in if that's related ? Thanks

      @@sidneypickard6440 🤔 That’s a tough one. Is it standard or automatic? Possibly if it’s standard the switch at the clutch pedal may have come loose or disconnected. If it’s automatic I believe there is a switch located in the shifter that engages when the car is in park or neutral that may have come disconnected.
      I’m assuming you have a fiero also 😂

    I have a question about this video, is this the same with the different steering wheel? because there is a definite difference between these two I believe.

      @@fieromike1 so I have a 1986 Fiero se with a steering wheel where the horn are buttons on the side of the steering wheel. I'm wondering if this tutorial would work with the steering wheel that I have.

    • @fieromike1
      @fieromike1  Рік тому

      @@andrewauto6082 yes it will. The only difference is the center cover. I think there are screws possibly from the backside of the steering wheel in order to get the center cover off. Once that is done, everything else is the same.
