Can you make a video that discusses the tiers in comparison to grandfathered/non-grandfathered status?

Hello Alan, yes we can! Thank you for the recommendation. We will work on it and get it posted as soon as possible.

This is a little misleading. There are also taxes and medical premiums taken out of the salary when working. Also the percentage that is withheld from the salary for TRS contributions are also not paid from the pension. You are overstating the income gap in order to make your product look more attractive. For transparency you should be comparing the actual take home in both pay and pension.

Thanks for the video. Just a quick question, is there a limit on "Years of Service"? In other words, is there a limit on the maximum % of 2.3%*Years of Service. For an extreme example, can % of 2.3%*Years of Service exceed 100%?

Hello Learn! Yes, you can work enough years to go past 100% but at some point, it would cost you money going to work because you would make more in retirement.

I started in Aug. 7, 2000. Can i take out a lump sum at age 66.1

Hello! Depending on what Tier you are will determine when you can take out a lump sum. With when you started, we would assume you fall under Tier 1 or 2 and those usually allow you to take lump sums when you meet the Rule of age 80.

Imagine how things would have been different if teachers 20 or 30 years ago would have fought tooth and nail for better pay
Many of the teachers who said ‘we do it for the outcome not the income’ are splitting pills now

Hello Jerrie, we agree with you. As teachers ourselves, we know how hard it is to retire comfortably with only a teachers salary/retirement. Most of us do part time work to make extra money for our daily lives. If you are referencing a previous comment from another viewer, we said it could be possible with proper planning and time, but it is the minority of teachers who do.
