That voice of hers just touches my soul every time no matter what she sings. I would be on the top of the world if I could sing half as good as she did. I have always loved the carpenters, thank you for reacting to this song.

This song is maybe the earliest music I can recall coming on the radio. I would sing along as best as I could to my family. It filled me with a positive feeling about life and love. Delusion or not, I decided to keep that feeling deep inside me. It’s little things like like that that can get you through the battlefield of life. Thanks for bringing that feeling back to me Biz!

This was written by John Bettis and Richard Carpenter in about an hour. After a concert they were in a Lear Jet talking and John said ‘We are literally on top of the world now’ as they laughed about their success in disbelief.

Love you too Biz! This is the kind of music that just takes ahold of your soul. I don't believe there's a song she sang that I don't know all the words to from my childhood. Good memories. So glad you like it too!

I love her voice!! ❤❤❤ It's like velvet, very few female singers can compare with her clarity and tone.
    Thanks for a wonderful reaction🤩😍❤

I gotta admit the Carpenters weren't top of my list back in the day, but you're right, it's good Sunday morning music.
Here's to feeling on top of the world WITHOUT having to have another person to get you there. Gratitude gets me there. 🤟

I have been listening to and LOVING Carpenters since I was around 9 years old......dare I say it FIFTY YEARS! My mom would push this, "Top of the World" 8-track in while driving us to/from school each day. I was devastated on that February day they announced her passing. Thank you for enjoying her beautiful voice with me.
If I may make a suggestion: Karen Carpenter did a jazz medley with the INCOMPARABLE Miss Ella Fitzgerald on their variety show called Music, Music, Music in 1980. I'd love to see you react to it but it's well worth your time to give it a listen anyway. Love your channel, keep up the good work! 👍❤

I like a lot of their songs but this is actually probably my favorite. Good length, good feeling, lyrics, music, etc. By the way, 33 years here.

@Watch BizMatik ...You old softie. Despite all the ready-at-hand cussin' you sprinkle through many of your reactions... I've never found you coldly crude. Here you clearly reveal a tender heart. Good for you! (And good for us.) Love ya back.

😳WOW!! You must've said some pretty amazing stuff in this one judging by the comments??!! You ALWAYS keep it real, and that's what I appreciate most about ur reactions (well, AND.... that damn cute azz smile of yours! lol!!😜)
I'm gonna keep it real here myself and say.... I haven't watched this reaction (I just let it play a few times for the channel!😉🙃) I loved Karen when I was a little girl. Her voice is so beautiful, but her music is REALLY HARD for me to listen to. Thing is.... In 1983, at 11yrs old (barely) I was rushed to the Hospital because I was dying (and I didn't even care!). I was suffering from Anorexia Nervosa, just like Karen. The medical and psychiatric world didn't understand the disease, nor how to treat it back then!!
Anyway, one evening the head nurse brought me into the nurse's lounge and made me watch the news report that was on the TV.... they were reporting that Karen had just passed away. Keep in mind, I had barely just turned 11, so it was a hell of a thing to process at such a young age. Especially because I was suffering from the same disease she had just died from!! Point is: I ADORE your reactions BUT Karen Carpenter, to this day is, an artist I avoid at all costs!!😪
HOWEVER, because it's YOU, and apparently you said some pretty amazing things here.... I'm actually going watch it.😰 Here's to hoping it'll be healing (and not traumatizing!) for me!!😅 Love that you're covering the Carpenters though Biz!! Good on you!!🙃 Oh and, from other people's comments I'm guessing u told us you loved us🤷‍♀️, SOOOO.... Love ya back Biz!!🤗😘❤
EDIT: I made it through watching it, FINALLY! lol!! Love that it made you happy, and you WILL get to experience the feeling of being on top of the world one day... I'm sure of it!! Great reaction! Peace and light Biz!!😎💞

I was 3 weeks shy of my 21st birthday when Karen passed......it was devastating. You're right, we had NO IDEA what anorexia nervosa was! Omg, you were so young! I'm so happy you're still here! Love and light.
