Great instructional video Ashley. Thanks for taking the time and effort to explain why and show how you do things. You touched upon so many areas and details that go into a painting like this - from beginning to end, it was excellent. Great talent and demeanor. Big thumbs up for you! Thanks so much. T
Absolutely gorgeous! Reminded me when my sister and I painted a birch tree forest for my mom's birthday. It was a (40x30) canvas that she hung over her fireplace. We were still learning (self-taught 😉) and had hardly painted anything even half the size, but it came out amazing, and she loved it.
Yo Ashley....this is awesome...used to wonder how these kinda paintins are done...coupla ladies on insta who mostly paint these type of em...but never any info on how the layerin or shadin is done..or whatever...used to love em, but could never try em...will definitely try this, even though it looks too much for me to attempt...thank u so much for sharin this...👍
Hey Ashley. We are going to do a paint night activity with about 12 ladies from church and we all loved this painting and are going to use this video tutorial! Yay! I am hoping you can help me plan. 😬 How much paint would you estimate each person takes per color/how many ounces per color do you think I may need? Any help you can provide, would be greatly appreciated! P.S. I met you at a church activity years ago where you taught us about getting kids interested in art (in Wasilla, AK)-it was fantastic!
Hey! I'm so glad you're all going to be painting with me! I'm guessing you will have a couple hours and that this needs to be as inexpensive as possible. So I would skip the color mixing and get premixed craft paints. At the bottom of this page on my site you can see this painting with the colors I used under it to match with the Apple Barrel acrylic craft paint at Micheals- www.createfulart.com/art-lessons1.html Get 3 large whites...just in case. What you don't use - take back. Get 2 small bottles of black for the dark lines on the trees. Using the 8x10 canvas - I'm guessing you will use 4 small bottles of each color. 1 bottle each/3 students. You will probably have more than enough. Layering is key to this painting so take hairdryers to get the underlayers to dry fast.
I absolutely love this painting! I also have a quick question regarding your acrylic paints. I notice that my colors dry out quickly in the open air, so when I saw that you premixed all of your colors it made me wonder if you use a medium mix-in to delay drying. And, if you do, do you have a recommendation for something to delay the paints from drying?
I have an entire lesson on changing dry time that is a free lesson. It will explain everything for you. All you need to do is sign up for the 5 free art lessons as Createfulart.com
Hi, I love your work!! I find it really difficult to get my lighter colors cover up dark layers underneath. Does it depend on the quality of the paint, or is there some special technique for applying a light color on top of a darker one? :)
Great question! It is all about your paints density. This lesson right here will help you learn how to get great coverage with your paints (its a little more than I can explain in a couple sentences)- www.patreon.com/posts/29168234 Hope this helps!
This is not a time lapse tutorial- those are sped up videos without instruction. I actually paint in real-time and give you step by step instructions. Are you talking about just keeping all the video from start to finish? I tried that, and I lost people's attention around 5 minutes into the video lol...so I take out all the stuff that is just time-wasting...like when I'm mixing, blow-drying, or doing the same thing over and over again. Also, my projects tend to take an hour or more and that is very difficult to load and do well on UA-cam. I give the steps that are necessary to complete the project, but not unnecessary stuff. Also, this leaves more room for others to be creative. If you want more personalized instruction you can become a Createful Art Member here: www.patreon.com/createfulart Thanks for your input!

@@Createfulart Thanks a lot, that really helps!!! 😍
Love this!!
I mixed my cobalt blue and cad yel med, and did not get that beaitiful turquoisish color. I got a drab, sad green. :(
Glad you enjoyed. Add just a tad of the yellow to your blue to get turquoise as too much will turn it too green.
Thank you🎖️🎖️🎖️🎖️🎄🌎
So beautiful! Is there a way to do this in watercolor or gouache? I don’t have acrylic paint and on a budget
Yes of course! Gouache is closer to acrylics in that they are opaque. So I would give those a try.
Nice
Genial muito bom Very good
Thank you!
I like your painting I tried it I think mine was too thick it looked so chunky.
Thanks for painting along. That's great that you learned one of your preferences so that next time you know to make it less thick. ❤
Plz make a still life painting..
Alright! :)
@@Createfulart thankyou 🤩
