"The war against us has been going on for 1,400 years, and it's natural when they throw 83 tons to fight against a mountain. This is a point of pride for us. They try, but we are steadfast. Our morale is very high, and by the grace of God, our journey continues. From the heart of Dahiya (Beirut’s southern suburbs), we declare, 'At your service, Nasrallah, at your service, Nasrallah!' Nothing can shake us, and the journey will continue. God willing, there are surprises ahead, and our spirits are high. As days pass, this will become clear, just as his eminence said, 'Keep your morale high,' and we will continue this journey, whether now or later. Nothing can shake us."

"We are not scared. We love martyrdom; if we are martyred, we go to our Lord and meet Him, but we are only scared for the children. This girl fainted in our hands, along with her brother, who is only a year older. We just got them out of there. But if they were older, we would stay in our homes and let the buildings collapse on us. That’s our last concern."

    STORYLINE:
Smoke was still rising on Sunday from the rubble of buildings destroyed on Friday by Israeli strikes in the suburbs of Beirut.
The militant group Hezbollah said on Saturday that its leader, Hassan Nasrallah had been killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit the group's headquarters.
The Friday night attack that Israel said targeted an underground Hezbollah meeting levelled multiple high-rise apartment towers in the densely populated, predominantly Shiite southern suburb known as Dayiyeh.
On Sunday, smoke could still be seen over the rubble as people flocked to the site, some to check on what’s left of their homes, others to pay respects and pray, and others simply to see the destruction.
They clambered over large slabs of concrete, surrounded by high piles of twisted metal and wreckage. Several craters were visible.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been driven from their homes in Lebanon by the lastest strikes. The government estimates that around 250,000 are in shelters, with three to four times as many staying with friends or relatives, or camping out on the streets, Environment Minister Nasser Yassin told The Associated Press.
