This is the first big expansion for X4, greatly increasing the size of the universe and introducing two new Split family clans along with their economy, new ships, weapons and station modules.
Along with the Update 3.0 to X4: Foundations, the X4: Split Vendetta expansion brings exciting new missions and adventures to the game. New gamestarts allow an even more varied experience in the biggest sandbox this side of the galaxy.
TRADE with the Split families or FIGHT against them. BUILD your own station designs based on the new modules and THINK carefully on your path through the new diplomatic missions.
I'm really digging the re-imagined Split ship designs.
Yeah, loving the new ship designs and very reminiscent of the X3 Split.. Hope this is a sign of more unique designs to come in the future :)) In any case great job with this one Ego!
Yeah a huge improvement from all the other ship designs in X4, I really do quite like the Split look
@@Umbator Yeah I still really miss the more utilitarian teladi ships sometimes.
@@TheWolfiet While i agree they had a good, utilitarian look, they also were awfully slow in pretty much each of their classes.
And their M3+ was a total FAKE, yes it looked cool, but had ZERO advantage over the standard M3!
Though their M6 has nice big glove box.

Glad to see the other races making a comeback. I hope the Borons will also make it into the game. I really like their design.

I really love having a bunch of guns at my disposal but I also love being speedy as possible.

@@shadowmarine978 I think they'll end up having Boron in floating space suits filled with water. That way they can be in any ship, not just those designed to accommodate Boron.

That gave me fond memories of Split Tigers. More x3 style is always a good thing.

I see a lot of effort invested in this but let us be honest here: for someone who is outside of X franchise, this trailer doesn't tell much except it is space and ships. Some might think it is some for of a strategy game like Endless Space or Homeworld.
This all references how they are aggresive race who bicker all the time, they are angry because they destroyed their homeworld in termonuclear war. They are war like, backstabbing, and their ships match that providing firepower and speed as their most important aspect, they also made ships quite similar to earlier titles which is nice.

Egosoft: Great at games, terrible at trailers.
Being experienced with egosoft projects, I was wating the time to start playing X4, i thing, this patch is a good time to finally play the game

Exciting as this is, I'm still not all that psyched about new Capital ships.
Capital ship combat has probably been the biggest let down for me in this game.
In XRebirth there were these TRULY massive-feeling ships (i.e. Arawn especially. When they entered the field, things got exciting.
I remember my all-time XR "Wow" moment. I was strafing an Arawn working to cap it. On one of my passes I saw these hulking shapes coming out from the clouds/nebula/whatever. I expected it to be the Arawn's support ships.
They were mine. Two of my Squad Arawns had entered the system and had moved to assist me and engage my target. Moments later, they were in full weapons range with Plasma balls and VLauncher Rockets screaming out of the clouds and spraying up and down the enemy Arawn. A few minutes later and it was undergoing the boarding process to be added to my fleet.
I haven't ONCE had anything remotely as enjoyable happen in X4. There's some fighting, sure, some "big" battles, but the AI pathfinding is so terrible from what I've seen that they engage for a minute then each scatter to their own corners. Weapons range is a joke (If I remember correctly, Taranis could hit 8k+, maybe up to 10k? away), but with X4 it seems like you've got to be point-blank to even think about getting hits in.
I love the game, I do, but I feel they completely lost it on the Capital-Combat side of it.
The Plasma beam could reach a distance of 8500 meters.
Yeah i miss my fulmecrons alot, in my squad i got like 25 fulmecrons 10 olmecrons and 2 arawns. Man that was fun at mahlstrom crushing some Xenon K and I
I played X2 and X3 (including TC, AP) countless hours and built a powerful PC just to play X4 in 4K with good fps, even pre-ordered the Collectors Edition but since today I barely played it. It is so damn complicated compared to the other games, even as an "X-Veteran" I just cant find my way into the game. A story with the obligatory tutorial missions wouldve helped alot.

I miss a ton of its features. Remote Control drones, Remote Control missiles (I did major work with Nova Drones).
Its trade interface, limiting at times, is loads better than what X4 has to offer. I mean, having to use the entire map to do buy/trade orders, rather than from a single and simple screen? It's frustrating to do any kind of manual trading.
Per a comment I posted already, XR had the best capital ship combat too. Big, hulking ships laying down serious firepower that actually made them feel like ships of war.
XR Had flaws, but it certainly shines better in some places than X4 does.

Y'all know I wrote a lengthy text but all I want to say is thank you for your work. Between all the junk nowadays games like the X series are a a blessing. No matter how buggy it may be.
Sweet blend between X² and X³ Ship Models i do like what i see.
In Regards to Station not sold on it yet guess have to see it in game myself to decide if it could grow on me.
They actually look awesome in-game.

Way to go. I'm excited. Flushes out more of the game universe. NOW if i could only get more crew on the bridge, designs for cap ships and like 2 crew on the bridge for corvettes id be super happy. But its a lonely life of a transport hauler. Or more ship interior spaces to add to improve crew moral, on cap ships.
Having a captain and telling them to go dock somewhere you can be free to roam around a ship or manage your empire. But being on a bridge of a Destroyer feels like flying a over sized fighter.
Ohoohhhhh The split dragon makes an appearance! I hope the other ships get a little redesigned, though. Most of them look alike, down to the race specific paintjobs...

Generally looks cool, but I must admit I hate the black hole effect. The gas being drawn off the star is moving far too fast and it looks ridiculous to me. It feels like a vacuum cleaner being used to hoover up a cloud of chalk dust or something, the speed robs it of the sense of scale it should have.
The black hole effect isn't a block hole effect, because i don't see the black horizon of the black hole. A block hole needs more black.
Are you sure that is meant to be a black hole? Looks like a neutron star to me. That system is similar to the binary pulsar J1023
but gas really so fast and it is only beta

Hell yeah, the Split were my favorite in x3.
Also die Schiffe sehen wirklich klasse aus, aber ich habe wirklich sehr gehofft, dass das Aussehen der Split wenigstens einigermaßen... liebevoll gestaltet werden. Jetzt haben wir statt Knetfiguren große Dobbys.

Eager for this. Was thinking Monday, I wonder when 3.0 will drop. "No time soon, we just had 2.5..." I decided. late Q4 is fine with me! The game's really grown on me as the hours roll by. I accidentally took a ride on a Paranid cap ship and that bridge design was immense. I'm hoping for more variety in the Npc's soon, and maybe more ships. other than that, enjoying making profitsss.

After the lackluster launch, this is the first time I'm actually hopeful for X4. The first time a vessel looks like an actual spaceship and not a flying dildo. I really dig these new designs! I wish the rest of the ships would look this well designed, and not just hunks of plastic. The visuals also look promising. I also welcome the addition of a story! It should've been in the game to begin with, but better late than never, I guess...
Keep up the good work, and you'll restore the faith in the X series yet! o7
They make more $$$ by releasing split and boron as DLC, cause they know we ALL will buy them.
finally some ships that are not ugly as hell.
I love how your guy's trailers are always made as if the dev who took the footage threw it together with the little video editing knowledge they got from google.
imho this makes them kind of unique. No fancy cinematics which don't resemble the gameplay at all, just pure captured gameplay

Oh my we might finally get a decent looking destroyer! Now please add in-combat travel mode for them as a way of escape (as was in XR) so it's a viable player ship.

I'm still on a 2nd gen i7 and a nvidia 560. Both need an upgrade soon...
@@mwyeoh I've got a Nvidia 960 and it crashes every half hour or so. I'd recommend checking their recommendations. Vulkan seems to be the problem. Think my card's only 2gb :( so go higher!) I'm 130+ hours in, so despite the issues, I'm still loving it! Once you get past the learning curve, there is depth in the game.
@@mpsaunders I played X4 for several weeks on the same card, it was annoying with the graphical glitches every half hour. Fortunately I could still autosave even during glitches and reload to correct it, but still, a pain. Once I upgraded to a 1060 6GB card, problems went away.

I accidently filled a dock area with high-speed mini Boron during development. You do NOT want that (yet). Was like a swarm of face huggers.

Just hope Borons are added as well, even if its as 3D sprites with low res ships. They are missing, as is their epic soundtrack.
Can do a Khaak invasion, as to why they are missing, turning their water systems into normal ones, with a few custom ships fleeing to your space, where you can use their ships with a few Boron survivors.

Bulletin board - to hire NPC's from your ship after you land, instead of running around stations looking for decent ones which is a pain in the behind.

Very much in this game there is not enough story company, at least in the likeness of Gothic, to rise from the bottom working for some kind of faction or all at once and save the world from evil - it would be more interesting to play. You can compare a good game with a plot with a girl, no one wants to spend time with a soulless doll with which nothing connects you, and the X4 Foundation is such a silent game. The sandbox is good, but it should be a complement to the ingenious addictive plot, and when players become fans of this story they will willingly spend hundreds of hours playing the sandbox learning the details of the story they like, but not the other way around.
Das neue Design der split in schiffe ist nicht schlecht aber mir fehlen immer noch diese Großkampfschiffe die in x3 terran conflict so geil waren.

So, now seem the best ships are the split ones, since the lack of variety for the other factions. And they said: “Major story update” but... there is not story in game, so this will be a campaign at last?

Bamcorp Gaming what I really meant is that I don't think Egosoft have done multiple players before. I think Ventures is the first thing like that? I would have low expectations if they did co-op or MMO just because of their suspected inexperience. I'm sure it's doable and it would be nice to have but... it would be a serious time investment from them and I'd expect a lot of bugs
Wenn die Split schon so genial aussehen, wie werden dann erst die Boronen nächstes Jahr :) Oder die Terraner, X4 ist noch schön ausbaufähig was die Story angeht usw. alles ist möglich ;)

Yeah they really need to ramp up the racial differences. Split high on speed and weapon bays. Teladi on Hull and cargo space.
I know that if you get a Shield from a Teladi Equipment dock it'll be slightly higher capacity then say an Argon counterpart but still. I miss the old PBEs and HEPTs.

Hope the Boron ships will have pure ion weapons to fit with their culture. If I could make boron ships I'd make them very defensive with only a few weapons slots, but a bigger hangar.
And I would change the ugly race design with something that looks familiar to the sea emperor from subnautica. Using 4 of their tentacles to move on land, and the other 6 to use as arms and hands.

Yeah, high def low attack. I think in some book they're said to have regenerative hulls.
In the other games, the Teladi were slow, had higher hull points, bigger cargo and (I think) higher shield capacity. Also their weird thing was a lot of their unique weapons were ammo based. That should totally make a return.
@@ManKannonProductions nag didn't mean to let them crawl on the ground like animals, instead have them walk like other humanoids, but instead of human hands and legs give them 10 tentacles. 4 strong ones to "to walk" on land, or rather slide on land and the other 6 tentacle are their arms, with which they handle objects.
That way they can still swim under water, their natural habitat, and can walk on land if necessary. As a funny bonus I'd give them a gravitation suit, that allows them to "swim" through low gravity environments or space. But they should keep a more or less humanoid body, similar to that of the sea emperor of subnautica.
I hope I made it a bit clearer.

"TRADE" - For about 1 hour from starting a new game, before the economy brakes.
"FIGHT" - Well, not actually participate in a battle, cuz if you are in the same sector where your fleet is, they behave like headless space chickens.
"BUILD" - Lots of factories in hope to fix the AI stations' dead production line so maybe you'll be able to buy a goddamn ship.
"THINK" - About why Egosoft spend resources on a DLC already, while their game is completely broken.
This literally sums up X4...
The game is basically nothing but a moddable economy simulator that wants you to fix everything.
Disappointing that they are unable to sort out the basic gameplay and issues and I’ve totally lost faith in this franchise and won’t be buying anymore from them As this is now two what you cannot really call games.
Have you played the latest patch? All these issues have been addressed long ago. Not saying everything is perfect but it's not nearly as bad as you make it sound.
@@foobarbazbaa5598 I've got over 450 hours on this game and that should answer your question. This game is a long, long way from being finished. IMO the modders seem to understand the game better than the developers or at least have a grasp of the issues and have addressed many.
But why should we have to play with mods to get the best out of the game, just doesn't make sense. You not telling me you haven't experienced many of the problems I have highlighted are you?
