Shooting outdoors in high dynamic range settings like this all the time I would have used an Arri personally. I think it would have been the best tool for the job.
@@jessecumberledge4530 Ehhh maybe but again the dual native iso for interior shoots that this whole video was about is literally what is helping the director bring his vision to life and is more cost effective than getting more lighting tools. Also the Venice has insane dynamic range. The Arri has its upsides but the Venice literally is the perfect tool for the job as Danny has explained over at his channel.
@@yusei151 they are both great obviously! The Arri can easily be used up to ISO 3200 as well, and has been for many movies. The Venice does bring some advantages, I guess I am just a sucker for maximum dynamic range, which is is one small piece of the puzzle.

I’ve worked on a number of film sets in the UK over the last couple of years, both big and small budget. You’ve really captured the great atmosphere of being on a set. Can’t recommend the experience enough.

The Sony FX3 has just been approved for Netflix movies and shows. So using the camera is not a bad idea.

Love this SO much!!!!! I can only dream of being part of a team like this. I know anything is possible though after I filmed with UA-camr Mike Corey from Fearless and Far. I have had a lack of motivation since. You are right though, fear is our greatest enemy. I can't wait to see the film!!

I'm currently working on a project, a low-ish budget, culture doc about Japan that most people are saying is impossible but me and the crew I've assembled are doing it just for the passion of filmmaking and to do something different.
So nice I wish I could be work on it too 😂

This seems like a perfect sized crew for an indy film. You get a sense everyone knows each other well and are not split off into departments. I think a lot of lower budget feature films could learn a lot about having a smaller tight nit team like this rather than blowing the budget on unnecessary kit and crewing.
They did blow the budget on crew and gear. What are you talking about? They had a big crew and had people standing around. Looks like the final product will be really good but they listened to cine crew when they built the budget and recommendations. Nothing was saved in the budget and cine crew don't understand anything but big crew and big crew means wasted budget. Cine crew don't work under union scale and they don't understand how to work with the FX3 or R5C, etc. Now, I'm sure Danny has stories about wanting to used the FX3 and being shot down in ore-production.
