The bush not consumed by the consuming fire. Like the three in Babylon, this bush, a scrub, a bramble meant for the fire, is saved by the Lord. Jesus is the expressed image of God, Jesus our Lord and creator.
We are the bramble changed into a vine of the branch. Grafted into the tree. A consuming fire that does not consume, but shows mercy to His own who love Him.
The burning bush is a representation of the incarnation of the Son of God. The fire is our Lord Jesus Christ and the bush that did not get burned in the fire represents the Virgin Mary. She carried Christ in her womb for 9 months yet His presence in her womb didn't burn her. This is our Orthodox Christian teaching.
Thank you for sharing such a rich and meaningful perspective from the Orthodox Christian tradition! Indeed, the symbolism of the burning bush is profound, pointing to the mystery of God’s presence among humanity. Just as the bush was not consumed by the fire, Mary carried the Son of God without being consumed by His glory, reflecting the miracle of the incarnation. Regardless of Christian traditions, the burning bush reminds us of a God who is holy and powerful yet draws near to us with grace and mercy. May the Lord continue to bless you in your faith journey!
*The bush not consumed by the consuming fire just like the three in Babylon. This bush, a simple scrub or bramble meant for the fire, was saved by the Lord. Jesus, the expressed image of God, is our Lord and Creator*

Notice a few things here. First, the Angel of the Lord tells Hagar that He will “greatly multiply your descendants.” An ordinary angel cannot do that, for only the Lord God can give life (Deuteronomy 32:39). Also, this statement is very similar to what God told Abraham (Genesis 15:5). Second, the Angel of the Lord knew Hagar was with child, that the child was a son, and what he would be like. Only God is omniscient to know the future (e.g., Hebrews 4:3), though ordinary angels can be told the future by God. Third, in v. 11, the angel says “the LORD has given heed to your affliction” when it was the Angel of the Lord who had given heed. Finally, in v. 13, the text says “the name of the LORD who spoke to her," clearly indicating that Hagar was speaking to God. Furthermore, Hagar calls the Angel "God" and can’t believe she remained alive after seeing Him! Indeed, the word Beer-lahai-roi means, “well of the Living One seeing me.”
