Amos Lee never ceases to amaze me with his slight husky/gravely voice and simple heart string plucking lyrics. I could listen to him all day and never get tired of hearing him. He is top quality.

amos lee is a classic in a modern time of some fluffy stuff. his voice is like the company of an old friend that soothes you and reminds you of where you've been and where you need to go. amazing and relatable lyrics. he doesn't seem to try too hard...he just has it. love from a southern girl!!!

He is a fantastic artist and a graceful man. I met him once after a concert in AZ and he was as cool and charming as anyone could be. He is humble and great. I have seen him twice and I will see him again in the future.

Followed him to New Orleans for jazz fest after that. Such beautiful soulful good times. Love the band. Love you Amos for sharing whats in your heart and on your mind.

what a brilliantly talented artist. i have valued his work for many years, after seeing him on late night with Carson Daly, as a new artist performing "Careless". went out the next day and purchased everything I could find of his. inspiring, moving music. Love His Art!
I believe that Amos is talking about how his friend took his girl when he was away. He blames his friend for lying and how their trust and bond as friends was broken. He also thinks his friend was careless for losing the girl too so that they both ended up losing the girl. Rawr. Me loves the song :)
