Shath shath naman aap dono ko,it was a concert of knowledge transfer for us, feels so privileged to have heard you both , Debal Ji's line where he says why don't we feel proud boasting we bought a saree from a particular weaver ,whereas a saree bought from a designer is always highlighted is such an eye opener,Rahul Ji's line where he shares about a woman who donated her Patola sarees gave us goosebumps, and like both of you said ,supporting is the best we can do summons it all up, Thanks again for such a wonderful video Debal ji.
Loved watching the video. Big fan Debal da. And now of Mr Rahul Salvi ji too. Khareed to nhi skti par support zarur karungi , always. And Debal please keep introducing us to more such artists!
Wonderful knowledgeable interview for an ordinary saree enthusiast. I have visited Patan Patola museum .. very enriching it was. It was our priviledge to see your father, Shilpguru, Vibayakji though we didn't bother him. Thank you Debalji for one more gem. Keep.posting.. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Sea of knowledge about Patola. Yes there is a trend going for semi Patan or semi double ikkat and they take customers for a ride. I feel people who are affluent and can afford to own this beautiful and painstackingly made art should definately own n flaunt ratber that just going for bling designer wear which all look same. I personally rarely buy sarees but make sure its handloom if I buy one.
I have immense interest in Indian craft. All the ppl selling stuff "online" sell it with HAATH Ka Kaam & support the artisian. I always wonder are we actually supporting them by buying their products or just making rich ppl more richer!! It would be great if you can also introduce us to the real gem of our heritage so we can directly buy from them. I recently checked with a designer website if their pure silk saree has a silkmark tag & I got the reply no it does not have it.But we assure Of our quality!! It's so difficult for us to decide are we giving the genuine price of the piece we are purchasing? This is one of the reason we also end up bargaining in flea market because we hv already been fooled by someone somewhere. So we are always not sure of what we are buying!!
