I'm just happy I don't need to spend 1200 orbs of fusing to not get a 6L, then drop a 6L but the incorrect colors, then fail to get the correct colors with my chromatics anymore. The new QOL stuff looks really nice, and the changes seem very noob friendly
Really good comprehensive thoughts impression Muk, liked it a lot. Been having a blast playing PoE2, way more then PoE1 which I kinda bounced off of. Excited for the full release next year
Glad to get a real reciew from a creator thats not glued to the game. Reviews from a lot of the PoE1 influencers feel disingenuous because they HAVE to like the new game or they're out of a job.
You say that except plenty of PoE 1 creators/influencers do have mixed reviews and feedback for the game. The general consensus which I find fair, is that it's a solid foundation but it has a lot of balance issues and flaws that do need to be sorted out during the EA to make it anywhere near as good as PoE 1 is. DsLily, Conner Converse / OneManaLeft, ZiggyD, Jungroan, Goratha, Ghazzy are several names among them if you care to go take a look and aren't just blowing smoke for the sake of it. All have given what I'd say is pretty fair feedback... which anyone that -actually- wants the game to succeed (especially if it's your job...) should be giving actual feedback, even bad stuff, or they will wind up not having a job when nobody wants to watch the game because it's shit...
Lots of interesting choices, a good part of them sound very good to me. Concerning the loot, I had no problem with the previous system, as I was writing my own fliters (for someone who was a programer, it was really the easiest thing to do) but I can understand that some people would have prefered a system that does not requiere from them to get out of their way, find and download a filter made by some random person on the net, blindly acceptig that "it's the best filter" without knowing if it really was the best thing for them. So, less loot may be a better choice (I'll still need to test it), especially if the currency system is no longer a bunch of various consumables orbs used to upgrade your stuff. The fact that the tabs you bought for PoE are used in PoE2 is absolutly unexpected, hence a very nice move from the studio. They could have say "nope, not the same game, you have to buy them" and get more money from this. Very nice.
Just got to maps and I immediately remembered why I stopped playing poe 1. Dying and losing a chunk of exp got me to stop playing. I’ll come back for the new acts when it releases but it’s getting hella frustrating rn
great vid! re: disconnect/reconnect, last night i was trying that horrible act 3 fight within the phalanx of spears for like the 20th time, was panicking, accidentally pressed 'escape' then clicked 'exit game' in honestly a split second and it closed. when i reconnected to the game i was at exactly at the same stage in the fight with it paused waiting for me to input to restart BUT... both of my flasks were now full! i mean i still died lol but the fact i had the chance to keep going felt extremely unique. Great game.
The honour system in ascendancy trials is also inherited from sanctum league from the first game Basically, they force sanctum or ultimatum for that and honestly i feel like lab was better (and more predictable)
i completly agree with the whole honor system. It needs a rework. I wouldnt mind it so much if it was a high score kinda system rather than a second hp bar
This is actually a legacy league mechanic from PoE called Sanctum. The mechanic is fine but it seems like way over tuned like most league mechanics in PoE2.
Muk died to a wiggly worm. It was too wiggly for him to handle. Great summary btw ^^; I'm eager to play the game, but a part of me wants to wait until it's more complete and another part of me is poor, so I haven't paid in for the early access yet :p
One thing i dont like, which i can safely assume doesnt matter later on, since we blast everything anyway, is how mobs just rush into you without any care whatsaever, doesnt matter whole apocalypse is unleashed upon them (your attacks :P ) they just run throu everything without any stagger, and i mean stagger, not CC btw... (while ofcourse you can be staggered very fast with some random profectile and your animation is canceled). It is really annoying especially in second act where your build isnt that much coming together yet and beetles are faster than sonic. Some of the skills, supposedly for "crowd control" are useless, since animation is so slow that mobs most likely will run into you from edge of your screen without being hit with said skill and no, no attack speed will fix this, dont be ridiculous, its just second act, you have nothing basically. Its not a problem if a mob comes up to you and starts some animation attack which is 1sec or 2 long so you can run around and set up skills, but those mobs with 0.1s attacks are just annoying...its not even hard, its just annoying. you cant set up anything so you have to basically take them up face, tank them while setting everything up. Its not good feelin why you play range character...
"Some people played an Ice Build and it got nerfed and now they cant respec" this is not what happened. They pretty much deleted "CoC" cast on crit, or in this case almost every single "Cast on X" support gem. That made it annoying for a LOT of people to play the game since why give us the tools when they make the game actually playable. Loot, while buffed now, still feels horrible compared to PoE 1, Maps still drop a lot of stuff that is now just as useless as in the first game. No alterations mean that "finding a good base item from the ground" is just rerolling with extra steps. Blue items are dead when they dont have 2 good mods. We dont get enough currency in the campaign to feel like we get stronger as we play and that makes the ARPG fantasy to destroy enemies just feel bad. I love the review and a lot of things can still be changed, but at the end of the day it just feels like ruthless (a gamemode in PoE 1 which drops like 95% less loot) and most people dont like ruthless.
Making the game pause whenever you crash or DC is one of the best things ever added to any game with Online play, i guess it can't be helped in GW2 but when you die because of Lag in something like Diablo 3 it's one of the most frustrating things in any game.
An ARPG trying to be a souls like. Not my thing at all. I like the production quality, seems very polished compared to the first game that was extremely janky when I played it.

The real argument of why this review is genuine and I'd trust more than other PoE creators as someone new to the genre

Been waiting for this! 🎉🎉🎉
tip: hold control/alt, then click and npc, to bypass the talk-to-npc part and instantly open the associated menu.

Honor for Ascendancy is really my only gripe, thanks for the excellent summary and...Gen 3 Bacon
Thanks for the review. I feel similar about the game though i am halfway through act 3.
Appreciate you not showing spoilers! 👍
Thank you for making this video, fellow human. I, too, like Gen 3 bacon (I'm sorry Mrs. Luk).

I found myself really missing the labyrinths compared to these trials in POE2.

New patch will fix this

Ask around on various GW 2 discords, that's how I got my early access 😀
19:30 divorce orbs... regret orbs... same thing
I guess we can no longer use the "can't pause an online game" excuse when your mom tells you to pause the game 😂

Still don't understand why respecing should cost anything
Possibly as a gold sink if they feared it piling too high? Just guessing.
Omg you are 50 hours in and already have your third ascension i am at 200 and still can not get it :(
24 ex? I've got 9 so far in my 45 hours paying through campaign.
