@@Gary-Lazer-Eyes Hey now. PA is a huge place. There are great towns and cities and absolute crap-holes. And gorgeous nature/wildlife. PA is what you make it.
I completely understand, when the pandemic started we started working from home and sleeping in the same room you have to work in took a toll on our mental health, we had to make a home office space so when we were done work, we closed that door and the rest of the house was just our home to relax in.
I seriously don't get how anyone who lived in a HOUSE during the pandemic can complain about their living situation.. I've spent the entire pandemic in a studio apartment with no balcony, garden or any relief from the room that's also my office except for a teeny tiny bathroom...
@@mullaoslo Mm maybe some people or most people are more eco-social than others, like you can be either extrovert or introverted but still have this level of mental interaction with your surroundings that has to meet certain standards in order to feel healthy or stress relief. It’s astounding how much of a difference to your mental health a move can make. When you find a location you love and a space that suits your needs it feels like you can finally breathe. You both seem lighter than you have in a while, and that alone makes the stress of moving more than worth it.

As a PA resident, we are happy to have such cool people in our state. I really like PA, there is country areas to go explore when you want or there is where you live, more urban areas. I am sure you will enjoy it here.
When you guys first moved to Texas I knew it wasn't going to be easy for you to live there. It just didn't seem like your scene. Things can be pretty different from one state to another. I like your new place, it really suits you guys. You did alot of growing the last few years so don't feel bad about making a big change. If it feels right then I am happy for you both. Moving is stressful on a relationship but staying somewhere you don't belong is far worse. Good call.
My wife and I have started to do the same fall into a dark place mentally where we are, the difference this is both of ours home town. So moving just seems odd but seeing you guys do it gives me hope.

Glad you found somewhere you enjoy. I grew up having a 20 minute drive to do stuff but don’t mind it, I like living outside of town. Different strokes for different folks

I moved from PA to Louisiana about 2 years ago and the heat is brutal. I miss parts of PA, they do have real "seasons" up there so its def a nice change. The fall is pretty great, very pretty
Hey Wood & Kim! Glad to see you're doing so well now that you moved. I've been a subscriber for a few years now (over 4, I think) and I really enjoy seeing you guys grow, change and move on to better places every day. You rock. Love from Europe.
I’m originally from Atlanta but I moved to Houston Texas (for work) back in 2017. Personally I love it here but I can see how Texas isn’t for everyone. Hope you guys enjoy your new home
I wish more would just leave without a fuss like these two instead of trying to dismantle what Texas is. If it’s not for you then leave, simple as that
@@SnackPack913 well they are just giving reasons why they move. And they stirred away from politics to not ruffle feathers. Kim’s family is gone, they don’t have close friends there, the weather is bad, the house was small ish etc. Those are good reasons to move.
@@kay-jay1581 Hey, I think you might have missed what they were saying. They said they wished more people were like them and would move without making a huge fuss. They weren’t complaining about how Wood and Kim are doing it.
@@SnackPack913 May I ask if it's not too much, why people make a fuss when leaving Texas? What is it they say or what happens in there? If not wanting to answer then it's okay and still thank you
I absolutely know the feeling you guys mentioned - being happy with each other, but not happy with your situation. I've been intending to do content creation for a while, but I haven't had the time nor the space due to my current living situation. I have my fingers crossed for things improving soon, but I'm glad you guys are in a better place.
Watching your video's make me smile especially when my depression decides to destroy my day or week, never stop making awesome and I love your podcast.
Let’s goooo! Welcome to good ol PA! Hope you’re getting situated well. The best part about living here are the random town names, the hidden gem locations, and overall chalk full of history! Excited for you guys!
Have you looked into the laws in Pennsylvania? Their taxes are way higher, you are also looking at new small business taxes, etc. You are probably going to be making like 30% less money by the time all the extra expenses and taxes are added together.
Some people just have restless natures and like to move a lot. Makes life more exciting. Hopefully we get to see a lil of Pennsylvania in your videos now too. Can’t wait for the next exciting move 😝
OMG. You are so much closer to the Great White North, specifically Ontario! Welcome to the East! Hopefully winter does not scare you off. As for why you moved, who cares! Take care of you first and foremost! OMG I love your kitties! We have 3. They will love the house and the East Coast!
when you can afford to move where ever you want that's pretty understandable. move to Texas from Portland and i love it here, besides the heat there's really not much to complain about, everything is nearby i would hate to live somewhere where the closest thing is 20 minutes away. sad to see you go but also happy for you
I recently made a similar move from LA to NH. It seems weird that I've had a window open for over a week now and people actually go outside. I also like that people don't always expect you to have the same religious/political opinion. Even if you agree with them, it's nice knowing you're not expected to think a certain way.
Congrats! Living in an area that feels like home and that you belong makes all the difference. We lived in Phoenix, and I hated every moment of it. Few years ago we moved across country to an area we fell in love with when we had visited. Has made all the difference.
As someone who's ideals are probably much more aligned with majority of Texas ( I don't live there so speaking broadly), I can appreciate someone who recognizes "Hey, I don't really fit with the politics and vibes here amongst other things." and moves somewhere that is a better fit. Like your beliefs are your own no matter what, but I will always appreciate someone willing to leave what they feel to be a toxic environment more than someone who stays just to complain about it.
I'm moving from Portland to Dallas. On my way now, driving a huge uhaul and towing my car, alone with my dog while the wife and kids fly out. Moving sucks but it's worth it. Good luck wood I hope you enjoy PA.
So glad y'all are doing what's best for you guys! 💜 You got to do what you gotta do!!! Hope Kim can expand as well! I love her channel and her store! Love you both!
As someone that used to live in Texas, you made the right decision.you have to fight so hard to find things to do, it's just not a long term place to live. It was an ok place to live on my early 20s as it was cheap. But that's literally all it had going for it.
@@wordupninja As a Pennsylvanian, it's a great state, but I wouldn't want to live in Philadelphia. Granted if they moved for political reasons, I guess it makes sense to go Philadelphia instead of outside of it, since outside of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, it is politically identical to large portions of Texas.
As someone who moved to Texas from California and then back, I liked McKinney Texas (everything was close by without too much traffic in that area when compared to central California). Ultimately no mountains, blue ocean, and family so we moved back. Glad your happy with your move. PS - we also brought back 2 kitties from Texas :)
Texas is very stressful right now. A lot of TX is very rural and lacks certain community type amenities such as walking parks and cute shops. The towns that do are way overpriced. I can see why a young couple would move if they had the resource. Mental health is important.
I am very glad that you and Kim are happy! As someone who has been watching for a couple years now, I love your content and I am super glad that this move has been good for the both of you!
I'm so happy for you guys!!!!! And I'm so proud of you guys for recognizing the need for change. It takes a lot of courage! Hopefully you can do some videos to show us around Pennsylvania!!:)
I sold my house in Nashville and made a lot of money. I took that and moved to Strawn TX. I love it here. I tried Michigan but the winter is cruel. I enjoy seeing people find happiness in completely different ways.
That's amazing! I hope this new start is everything you've wished and so much more. Everyone deserves happiness and is so encouraging to see you guys took the chance to chase your own happiness. 💕
We moved from New Jersey/Pennsylvania area to Texas because of the military. I hate Texas so much, I miss the north east coast so bad. I hope to move back up to that area. I'm so happy you guys found a wonderful place to move too. You're going to love it up there. I loved it
Moved to jersey (10 min outside Philly) from fresno CA and I completely understand the love of having actual season instead of just heat. Congratulations on the home.
I love hearing life updates from you in these types of videos. I happy to hear that you’re in a much better place mentally after the move. I hope you and Kim continue to settle in well to your new home. I’ll keep you both in my prayers as you adjust to all the new there 😁
Wood and Kim WELCOME TO PENNSYLVANIA!!!!! I hope you enjoy it here and that you find yourselves in great places both professionally and emotionally! I highly recommend buying one of those weird guide books that have strange and interesting places to visit because PA is full of treasures. Also Hershey Park is a fabulous amusement park if you're into that.
20minutes sounds like a dream, I live up at 71° north, meaning close to the north pole , closest mall is 3 hours away one way. So if I want to go do some game shopping physically I'm looking at a 6 hours drive at least, if the roads are even open during the winter. I know the struggle, and happy that you guys found a place where you guys enjoy to live in.
I grew up and lived in PA for most of my life. Absolutely loved it and miss it to this day. I live in MD now but go to visit family backhome. It's definitely a great place to live
This hit home. My wife and I live in the southern suburbs of Chicago and feel this every day. To be honest, I would rather move complete out of this country if it made sense. Feeling like an outsider in an area you have lived in your whole life is extremely…depressing. British Columbia is looking ever more promising each day I wake up and look around where we are at.
As weird as this is to say, I have been watching this channel for eight years now. I have seen Wood move across the world, meet the love of his life, and find success on UA-cam. (I don't know if Wood would recognize my username from way back when, lol) I'm so happy for you and Kim! I wish you both nothing but the best in Pennsylvania.
Welcome to the (greater) Northeast! So glad you came up here for the reasons you did. Awesome to hear your appreciation for the more rustic nuances of life up here. Just hope you're prepared for winter! 😁
I live in downtown Quebec city and I love the fact that everything is at walking distance: the grocery store, the drug store, load of restaurants, my physical therapist, my dentist, ... So I get you hated being 20 minutes car away from anything and love being 1 minute car away from everything! It's SOOO nice!
If you like cute little shops, go to Jim Thorpe. Straight up the turnpike like an hour / hour and a half for you if you’re near that coffee shop. The shops are opened Friday-Sunday. Parking sucks but it’s cool to see.
So happy for you both! Me and my partner have a similar situation, our relationship is great but we live somewhere where we only know and see one another so we rely on each others attention 24/7. We are trying to fix that by moving, so it makes me happy knowing you are both in a better place!
When you moved from Vancouver to Texas, I was like oh yeah, that's going to be a hot change! The PA idea is awesome! And who knows what the future holds. All the best to both of you :)
Wood your videos bring me so much joy every time you upload I get so excited and happy your videos have changed my life I wish the best for you and kim
I’ve also just moved! Out of my parents house 😂 it’s not a huge deal to some but I’m 25 and the wait was literally my lifetime. I’m busy building shelves for all my games and books, it’s been fun. I’ve been watching you for the past few years and you made living in that house easier for me. My family was quite toxic, I feel like we made it out together.
It's awesome you where able to get out of that situation, I was lucky to get away from my toxic family and move to another state when I was 18. Best of luck with everything, and a achievement is always something to celebrate no matter how long it takes to achieve it.
So not to be creepy, but I recognized Steel Penny immediately because I lived in and am trying to move back to the area! hit up the channel if you want tips on the best places around there!
Congratulations on the successful move! I left DFW for similar reasons, and while I had to leave some friends behind, it was absolutely the right choice. Visiting is always fun, but it’s surprising how just living somewhere new can completely rejuvenate your mentality. I look forward to this new chapter for y’all!
I felt this video to my core. I am from Phoenix Arizona, big city loved it. I got married and moved to South Eastern Kentucky where the nearest movie theater was 2 hrs away. There was 12 places to eat and not alot else to do. My wife and I wanted to stay in the area as she has 2 kids that was younger at the time and wanted to stay for the family. Lived there 5 years and we took a little Vacation in Cincinnati and we had such a good time. On our drive back we started talking about " would you want to live here" and those conversations turned into "we are doing this" and we moved and it has done SO much for our mental health. To have so many options back, going out to eat, movies, local game stores for board games. It restored our interest in gaming because its no longer the only thing we do.
I hope everything goes well for the both of you my biggest concern was how long it take must take to pack everything in that gaming room of yours my God.🤣😂😂
Congratulations on your mooooove! You made it. In this video you two already seem so much lighter, (must be that fantastic coffee and the not-oppressive heat or... well, oppressive anything else) and the kitties seem to be enjoying the fluff out of themselves as well. (Simon eating your plants? Adorable! Logan being a fluff? Adorable!). I'm soe very happy for you both!
I'm glad you're both in a better place now. I get what you mean about Texas, me and my fiancee live in a political oasis and when we go too many miles in any direction, things get weird. Welcome to the East Coast! I hope you have a great time out here!
@@TheSpartanS196 Your happy to leave. CA and Chicago should be more yoru style. You know with everything being so expensive. Oh and enjoy your local homeless population just watch your step. Don't want to step on a pile of human sh*t or needles.

If it’s not for you then leave, simple as that
@@SnackPack913 yup
Thanks for sharing man, much love
Welcome to Pennsylvania.
Enjoy the weather that constantly changes.
Edit: Oh... you don't live too far from me...

Let's absolutely go! I am in PA and when I heard you guys are in PA now I got so excited
OMG. You are so much closer to the Great White North, specifically Ontario! Welcome to the East! Hopefully winter does not scare you off.
As for why you moved, who cares! Take care of you first and foremost!
OMG I love your kitties! We have 3. They will love the house and the East Coast!
when you can afford to move where ever you want that's pretty understandable. move to Texas from Portland and i love it here, besides the heat there's really not much to complain about, everything is nearby i would hate to live somewhere where the closest thing is 20 minutes away. sad to see you go but also happy for you
If you are racist and sexist Texas is THE place.
I recently made a similar move from LA to NH. It seems weird that I've had a window open for over a week now and people actually go outside.
I also like that people don't always expect you to have the same religious/political opinion. Even if you agree with them, it's nice knowing you're not expected to think a certain way.
Live free or die baby!
FREE STATE!!! Woot!
Welcome to NH!
Ha wow I just moved from San Diego to New Hampshire as well in December 😂
California is a whole country on its own. Texas is following that. It’s just awful.
Just make sure you leave the bad politics behind you in Portland.
I don’t live in Texas, but moving to Philly is never the answer…. My god people. Just watch some local news from Philly. Check out Kensington ave.
There is a reason Florida, followed by Texas and Tennessee are the top states people are moving to
@@wordupninja is sounds like a political reason they moved so moving north is honestly their best move.
@@wordupninja completely agree. I live in Miami and wouldn't go anywhere else right now
@@wordupninja As a Pennsylvanian, it's a great state, but I wouldn't want to live in Philadelphia.
I hope you’re moving here to Town USA

I'm so happy for you guys!!!!! And I'm so proud of you guys for recognizing the need for change. It takes a lot of courage! Hopefully you can do some videos to show us around Pennsylvania!!:)
I sold my house in Nashville and made a lot of money. I took that and moved to Strawn TX. I love it here. I tried Michigan but the winter is cruel. I enjoy seeing people find happiness in completely different ways.
I'm happy you moved to a place that is better for you mentally! Congratulations to you both! I hope it continues to go well for you.
That's amazing! I hope this new start is everything you've wished and so much more. Everyone deserves happiness and is so encouraging to see you guys took the chance to chase your own happiness. 💕
We'll miss you in Texas, man, but, good on you and Kim for just... going for it. Cheers.
Ive lived in Texas my whole life and im still not used to the heat. Best of luck to both of you! :)
That’s the first time I’ve heard of someone moving FROM Texas 😂
Could it be because their leftist liberals?
I'm so glad you finally moved somewhere that will make yall genuinely happy! I cant wait to see what adventures await you!
How do u know they will be genuinely happy???
Especially where the east coast people have a real bad hate in their hearts for people from the south.
@@Tony-mh3dm I'm just going off what their saying in this video, they seem happy and I'm just glad for them
I love hearing life updates from you in these types of videos. I happy to hear that you’re in a much better place mentally after the move. I hope you and Kim continue to settle in well to your new home. I’ll keep you both in my prayers as you adjust to all the new there 😁
Wow! So many CDs in the Jeep!
You even call it "P-A" like proper locals. Love it 💕

So what made you stay there?
Ive been here about 6 years and the same can be said for me lol. Except I changed my username so theres that
Welcome to the (greater) Northeast! So glad you came up here for the reasons you did. Awesome to hear your appreciation for the more rustic nuances of life up here. Just hope you're prepared for winter! 😁
it's also cool that you're closer to Bob now :D I'm glad you guys were able to move and find a really good house.
I'm glad you took action to pursue your own well-being. Here's to your, Kim's, and the cats happiness.

Yeah I can understand , born and raised in Texas and we just moved to Oregon.
the heat is why we moved as well.
The cats look like they’re in heaven 😍 I’m happy that you’ve made a step towards pursuing your own happiness - that’s all any of us can do :)
Love to see you guys are growing and reaching new horizons, wish you guys the best in next chapter of your lives together
😂😂😂 wait for the 9 months of winter☃️☃️☃️ lived in Pa all my life. You’ll be in for a treat
Kudos for escaping TX. We'd lose our mind there, also.
I tried Texas. Love some of the friends I made, but disliked living there. Left 10 years ago and feel much happier for it.
