I think because of it's age, POC was one of the original rides built with the park when it first opened. I'm not too sure how much truth is in the rumor though. They replaced Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and that was another classic that opened with the park.
I am legitimately crying right now. The nostalgia of the music helps me envision the entire ride as it plays. My family and I always make sure we get on this ride.
I am emotional, too. It reminds me of when my Dad used to take us to Disneyland in the early 1970s. I wish I would've been smart enough to know that he loved me in his own way. I never was able to properly say goodbye to him, to tell him that I loved him. 😢

Have been on this ride twice once when i was 7, and once when in '98 when i was 18 on a senior band trip, im going deaf so tried to listen to it now but failed, cant make it out. me and and the folks if everything goes to plan will be headed to Florida for Disney again in January. Last time I was on this ride (in Paris) I didn't remember there was a drop (last time I was there I was 7), so when I saw the tunnel with the ceiling on fire, I wasn't expecting the drop. Won't lie, I loved it with passion.

Got stuck on the Pirates ride one time for over an hour, had to listen to this song for 25 minutes straight. I think it made me go a little crazy
